The middle of the road was blocked by a crowd. A lot of people had gathered there, causing a complete traffic jam. A girl, about twenty-one or twenty-two years old, was standing in the middle of the road, her deep dark eyes blazing with immense anger. In front of her stood a boy, about thirty years old, looking at her with anger in his brown eyes.

"Oh, as soon as you get a car, you don't think of anyone else. Is this car an airplane that you're driving without brakes? You people consider us ants and insects," the girl said, waving her hand. The boy glared at her angrily.

"There's a device called a horn in this, and God gave you ears. But no, you've got Bluetooth in them. How would you hear the sound of a horn?" the boy retorted.

"So what if I didn't hear? Are you going to crash my Ram Pyari?" the girl said, looking at her scooter lying in the middle of the road.

"Oh, my Ram Pyari! Her installments aren't even paid off yet, and you've sent her to the hospital," the girl said, sitting beside her scooter.

The boy standing on the other side looked at her in surprise. "The hospital? This scooter? Since when do scooters go to the hospital?" the boy said, crossing his arms.

"Since cars came into the hands of blind people like you," the girl said, standing up angrily.

"Look, miss, this is becoming too much, way too much, understand? And as for this scooter, your Ram Pyari, take this money and clear the way," the boy said, trying to get rid of her and placing a wad of money in her hand, which he had just taken out of the car.

"What do you think you are? Some king or emperor, giving me this money? You made a mistake, and then to cover it up, you made another mistake. You could have at least said sorry," the girl said angrily.

"Sorry? And to a stubborn girl like you? Forget it," the boy said.

    "You!"

The girl looked at him, her eyes darting around angrily, and walked to one side of the road. Everyone was watching her. Suddenly, the girl spotted a stone, picked it up, and ran towards the boy. Seeing her running towards him with a stone, the boy was stunned.

The girl was running towards him, holding the stone above her head with both hands. The boy's breath caught in his throat. As the girl reached the boy, she veered to his side and stopped in front of the car, smashing the stone onto its windshield. The boy, who had been shocked that the girl was about to hit him, was now enraged because she had broken the windshield of his beloved car.

"Hey, girl!" the boy rushed forward and said.

The girl, dusting her hands, looked at him.

"One minute," the girl said before the boy could speak, and pulling out money from her purse, placed it in his hand.

"Add this to the money you were giving me, and get the windshield fixed. For your airplane," the girl said, picked up her scooter lying in the middle of the road, and started walking away on foot. Seeing the people standing there, she said, "The show is over. It's done now. You can all leave." The crowd dispersed, looking at her, some chuckling at the state of the car. The boy, enraged, punched the car's bonnet.

"How dare she! How could she do this?" the boy exclaimed. He pulled out his phone and started dialing. "Ajit, come quickly," he said and stood there.

"Come on, my Ram Pyari," the girl said, taking her scooter.

The boy watched her go, "Thank God you never come in front of me in life, or I'll forget you're a girl," he said angrily and looked at the money in his hand that the girl had given him. Then, amidst the money, he saw a card. It was a library card with the name Mehr Shergill written on it, along with the girl's photo. "Hmm, Mehr Shergill," the boy said, twisting his face and watched her go.

"Hey Ahluwalia, who are you staring at?" another boy asked the first boy, who was looking at Mehr Shergill's photo.

"My name is Kabir, not Ahluwalia. Got it?" the first boy said angrily, looking at the second boy, who was trying to see the card in Kabir's hand from over his shoulder.

"Here, get into this," Kabir said, holding out the card to Ajit. Ajit looked at him, "Why is your temperature always high?" Ajit said and looked at the car.

"What happened to this?" he asked, looking at the car from all sides.

"A witch got on it," Kabir said.

Ajit looked at him, "Was the witch so heavy that the whole windshield broke?" he said in surprise. Kabir glared at him, and Ajit fell silent.

"Come, sit in my car. The driver will bring it," he said. Both of them left.

"Get in my car, the driver will bring it," Ajit said. Kabir looked at him once, then at his car, whose windshield was broken. Kabir's fists clenched in anger. "If I find you again, I'll teach you a lesson," Kabir thought to himself. Ajit was watching Kabir and following his gaze towards the car, laughing. "Well, today you've met your match, otherwise, you never respected anyone," Ajit thought to himself. "Let's get this fixed," Ajit said, putting his hand on Kabir's shoulder. Kabir got into the car, and Ajit drove it forward.

"Hey, listen, look what happened to it," said the girl with the scooter, parking it in front of a shop. The boy working there looked at the girl and said, "Oh, what happened today, did Ram Pyari get into another fight?" "She didn't fight much today, an airplane crashed into her," Mehar said angrily, wiping her face with her dupatta, which was covered in sweat.

"Give me some water, it's very hot today," Mehar said. The boy quickly went inside, brought a bottle of cold water, and gave it to Mehar. Mehar drank the water quickly. "Where are you coming from, didi?" the boy asked, looking at the scooter. "Just know that I've been walking for two hours. There were many shops on the way, but you know my Ram Pyari inside out, so I just came here," Mehar said.

The boy looked at Mehar. "Didi, didn't you have your joining today at the new place? Aren't you going to be late?" he asked. Mehar looked at the watch on her hand, which showed ten in the morning. "I have to go by twelve. Just do your work," Mehar said to the boy. The boy looked at Ram Pyari. "Didi, you said you would take me with you when you go to Punjab next month. Why didn't you?" the boy asked Mehar. Mehar remembered that she had gone home a month ago. She closed her eyes. "Just do your work. I'll take you too. Let's see what flags you plan to conquer," Mehar said. The boy looked at her. "Are there flags there?" the boy asked. Mehar looked at him. "Use your hands, not your mouth," Mehar said. The boy made a face. Mehar looked at him. "Okay, forgive me, Chotu. Today I had a fight with an old man, and on top of that, instead of apologizing, he was offering me money. How dare he offer money to Mehar Shergill?" Mehar said. Chotu looked at her. "You're fighting with old men, Didi? That doesn't suit your personality," Chotu said and started the scooter.

"That old man wasn't any less either. He was trying to scare me with his big eyes. But I'm not one to back down either," Mehar said to herself, praising herself. At this time, a victorious smile was on her face. "Oh, Didi, what did you do?" Chotu asked, coming and sitting next to Mehar, wiping his hands with a cloth.

"I picked up this big stone," Mehar said, spreading her hand wide to show how big the stone was. Chotu looked carefully at her hand. "Such a big stone?" Chotu said. Mehar nodded and then ran towards his car and hit the windshield of that car, Mehar said with full joy. Chotu looked at her and started laughing. "Didi, you can't even lift such a big stone," he said. Mehar glared at him. "What I meant was, it's a finger's work to pick up a stone," Chotu said. "Absolutely," Mehar said. "Your Ram Pyari is fine," Chotu said. Mehar opened her purse, took out money, and gave it to him. "This is for your hard work," Mehar said. Chotu took the money. "Didi, when you come back, bring Gulab Jamun. Celebrate your new job," Chotu said. Mehar looked at Chotu. "Didn't I treat you last month too?" she said. "What can I do when you can't stay in one place? Every time you fight with your seniors," Chotu said. "Thanks for the compliment. You'll get your Gulab Jamun, understand?" Mehar said and rode away on her scooter. The boy watched her and laughed. "I don't know when that day will come, Didi, when you'll stay and work in one place," Chotu said and got back to his work.

"I've arrived," Mehar said, stopping her scooter to the side and looking at the building in front of her. Mehar had been here before for an interview. She knew that her office was on the top three floors of this multi-story building.

Mehar went inside the building and, after informing the reception downstairs, walked towards the elevator. She got inside the elevator, and it was empty. Just then, a boy entered the elevator. He saw Mehar and, after thinking for a moment, said, "Mehar?" Mehar looked at him. "Yes," she said. "Are you new here?" he asked. Mehar nodded. "Hi, I'm Jas," the boy said. "So what should I do?" Mehar said, looking at his outstretched hand.

"Hi, I'm Jas," said the boy. "So what should I do?" Meher asked, looking at his large hands.

The boy, who had introduced himself as Jas, looked at Meher in surprise. Meher, however, paid no attention to him and focused on her phone. The lift stopped, and Meher got out. Jas followed her, thinking to himself, "What a strange girl. She's here to work, and she doesn't even know who I am." He then walked away.

Meher left the lift and went straight to the reception. "Hello," she said upon seeing the receptionist. The receptionist greeted her back. "It's my first day," Meher said. "Where should I go?"

The receptionist looked at her and said, "Yes, go straight from here and take a left. You'll see a door with 'K' written on it. Just go there."

"Okay, thanks," Meher said and left. As directed, she saw the room with a 'K' written on it a short distance away. Meher made a strange face upon seeing the room and went inside. There were a total of six people in the room at that time, with three seated at the front.

Meher sat down with them. "Hello, are you new too?" a girl asked Meher, seeing her. Meher nodded. "Hi, I'm Natasha," the girl said, extending her hand. Meher looked at her hand and shook it, saying, "Meher."

"I'm so tense today," Natasha said.

"Why?" Meher asked, looking at her.

"Well, the owner of this news channel is very hot," Natasha said.

"Oh, really that hot?" Meher said. Natasha nodded. "Then I'll stay away from him. If I accidentally touch that hotness, I might get burned," Meher joked.

Natasha just stared at her, but a boy sitting behind them started laughing at Meher's comment. Both girls looked at him. The boy said, looking at Meher, "Hello, my name is D. And the best part is, I'm not hot, so you don't have to worry about getting burned." He extended his hand towards Meher, but then looked at Natasha. Meher took his hand, shaking it, and asked, "What's the full form of D?"

The boy, whose name was D, pulled his hand back. Natasha glared at him and said, "Tell us, tell us!"

    "Devdas," he replied.

Meher and Natasha stared at him, then looked at each other and burst into loud laughter. The other three people sitting at the front, with their backs to them, looked at them.

"Devdas, brother, what world do you live in?" Meher said. Natasha was gesturing to her with her hand, but Meher continued to look at D. Then, due to Natasha's repeated nudges, Meher looked at her. "What is it now? What happened?" Meher asked, looking at Natasha, who was looking straight ahead.

"You're looking straight ahead as if your hot boss has arrived here," Meher said, looking at Natasha. Then she looked forward and was stunned. Anger was clearly visible on her face.

"Hey, old man, you followed me all the way here!" Meher said, standing up from her place. The three people at the front, Ajit, Jas, and Kabir, were shocked by Meher's words. Ajit and Jas were looking at each other, but Kabir, in anger, stood up and looked at Meher.

"Listen, if you say another word, you'll see," Kabir said, pointing his finger at Meher. Meher put her finger in front of his, saying, "I will speak, and I will speak loudly. Tell me, what will you do?" Meher said. Ajit and Jas put their hands on their heads. Natasha and D watched with their mouths open.

"Go, save her, or she'll be fired on her first day," D said softly to Natasha. Natasha stepped forward and said to Meher, "What are you doing? Is this you?"

"Stay behind. Don't interrupt me," Meher said. "Crazy, this is the same hot boss you were afraid of touching and getting burned. He's a boss? Do you even know what he did today? He can't be the boss," Meher said, looking at Natasha. But Natasha nodded. Meher looked at D, and he also nodded.

Now Meher felt that they were telling the truth, so she looked ahead. Ajit and Jas were standing there, and they also nodded. Meher looked at Kabir, who was staring at her, and their fingers were still entwined. Suddenly, Meher screamed. Everyone looked at her in surprise. "What happened?" Natasha asked Meher.

"Look, Natasha, my hand is burned," Meher said, holding her hand out to Natasha. Then, looking at Kabir, "Because of your hot boss," she said.

Ajit and Jas burst into laughter, and Natasha held her head. D somehow suppressed his laughter.

"Now where are you going?" Natasha asked Meher as she was leaving. "I don't feel like working here anymore," Meher said. Everyone was looking at her, and Meher started to leave. Just then, a deep voice echoed in the room, making everyone look in that direction.

"Wait," a deep voice boomed in the room, and everyone turned towards it. "I am talking to you, Mehr Shergill," Kabir said.

"Here we go," Jas said to Ajit, "I have a feeling Kabir will do something wrong in anger." "Brother, I suspect Mehr's hand in the car incident this morning too," Ajit replied. Jas looked at Mehr in surprise, "You mean this slender girl broke Kabir's car window?" Jas exclaimed. "Yes, and now Kabir has escalated things," Ajit said, looking ahead. Kabir was walking towards Mehr, and Jas quietly looked ahead.

Kabir reached Mehr and looked at her. "Are you here for work? You've signed a contract with us," Kabir said. Mehr looked at him and replied, "I don't acknowledge such a contract." "We do, and according to it, you will work with us for the next year," Kabir said.

"Look, Mr. Old Man, I have no desire to work with a hot-headed person like you," Mehr said.

Natasha stared at Mehr with her mouth agape, while Ajit and Jas looked at Kabir. "Tell me, do you think anything can happen between these two?" Jas asked Ajit, looking at Kabir. "I don't know, but right now, it's fun watching them fight," Ajit said, "All that's missing is a bottle of beer." Jas looked at Ajit and said, "I wish there was one right now, it would be free entertainment."

"You witch, control your tongue, understand? From what angle do I look old?" Kabir said, looking at Mehr. Mehr looked at him in surprise, "Do you think you're young?" Mehr said, making a strange face. Kabir was about to say something to her when he looked around and saw Ajit, Jas, D, and Natasha watching them.

Kabir looked at Mehr and said, "Fine, if you want to go, go. But before you leave, deposit your money." Kabir walked out of the room. Mehr watched him leave and said, "So what did you think? I'm just going to leave? I'll throw the money in your face before I go. What do you think of yourself, you big shot? If I don't buy this company of yours, my name isn't Mehr Shergill!" Mehr shouted. Just then, Kabir returned to the room door. "Jas, don't let Miss Shergill leave until she pays the one crore fine. And if she doesn't deposit the money within an hour, send her to my cabin. I'll explain how to work and what to do thoroughly," Kabir said, looking at Mehr angrily. Jas nodded in agreement. "And Miss Shergill, if you want to buy my company, buy it with pleasure, but pay the fine first if you want to leave. You have one hour. After that, your job starts," Kabir said and left.

Mehr, who had been talking non-stop, fell silent and looked shocked at Kabir's words. "One crore?" She looked at Jas, who nodded in agreement. Mehr then sat down as if she was about to fall.

"What was the need for you to chatter so much? Everyone says Mehr, keep your mouth shut, you invite trouble for no reason. But no, Ms. Mehr, you won't listen, you just have to do what you feel like," Mehr said to herself. Natasha came up to Mehr and said, "Enough now, what's done is done. Why don't you apologize to him?" "Yes, Natasha is right," D said.

"Do you two think that old man will forgive me?" Mehr asked, looking at them. Jas and Ajit, who were listening to Mehr, laughed. "Whatever it is, this girl is amazing. It's going to be fun working here now," Ajit said. Jas thought for a moment and said, "And what if she leaves?" "Are you crazy? That's Kabir. If he wanted Mehr to leave, he wouldn't have said something like this," Ajit said. "So, does this mean we'll see fights in this office now, where it's just work, work, and more work?" Jas said. "We'll see," Ajit replied.

"Come on you two, let's tell you what to do," Ajit said to Natasha and D, coming up to Mehr. They both looked at Mehr. "Go," Mehr said. Ajit and Jas looked at each other and walked out, followed by Natasha and D. Mehr sat there, looking at the entire room. A camera was mounted on the corner. Mehr looked at it first, then narrowed her eyes and glared at the camera. The next moment, she stuck her tongue out at the camera.

In another room, Kabir, who was watching Mehr on his laptop through the same camera, looked at the screen furiously as Mehr stuck her tongue out. "Miss Shergill, now I'll see how you leave here. My father never raised his voice at me, and you..." Kabir said, still looking at the screen. Mehr was sitting there. Looking at the screen, Kabir said, "Now I'll see how you escape from Kabir," leaning back in his chair and looking at the laptop.

"Now I'll see how you escape from Kabir," Kabir said, leaning back in his chair and looking at his laptop.

Mehar sat in the room, looking around.

"Kabir, these are Natasha and Dee," Jas said as they entered Kabir's cabin. Kabir closed his laptop and looked up. "Okay, explain their work to them," Kabir said.

Looking at Kabir, Jas said, "Natasha is on the anchor's post, and Dee is on the cameraman's post."

    "Alright," Kabir said.

"But Mehar is on the reporter's post, and believe me, she's the best reporter," Ajit said.

Kabir looked at him. "Ajit, first of all, she doesn't want to work here," Kabir said, sitting up straight. "Secondly, if she works here, she will only do the work I assign her," Kabir said.

Ajit looked at him. "Alright. Then we'll get back to our work. You take care of everything," he said, and taking everyone with him, he left.

Kabir rolled a paperweight on the table. "This girl messed with me, and on top of that, she broke the window of my first car, which I haven't even let get scratched to this day. She can't get away with this so easily. She's come on her own," Kabir said to himself.

"Sir, the news is scheduled to go live in five minutes, and Sakshi ma'am is saying she won't give the news until you come there," a staff member said. Kabir looked at him. "Okay, I'm coming," he said, and got up from his seat and left.

In the newsroom, a girl was sitting stubbornly. Jas, who was in the M.C.R., had told Sakshi multiple times to be ready, but Sakshi was not listening. Natasha was in the room with Jas.

"This is your first job, isn't it?" Jas asked Natasha, and she nodded. "Today, you'll see how news is delivered from here. After that, I'll take you to the live set," Jas said to Natasha and looked straight ahead. Sakshi was visible on a screen there.

Just then, Kabir arrived. He took a microphone from Jas. "Sakshi, if you want to continue working here, stop throwing tantrums. Do as Jas is telling you," he said, then fell silent and handed the microphone back to Jas. Natasha looked at Kabir in surprise. She was still lost in Kabir's personality. "Natasha, if you look ahead, you'll learn to work better," Kabir said. Natasha quickly turned her head forward. Sakshi was visible there.

Hearing Kabir's voice, Sakshi became happy and started giving the news right on time. Natasha was amazed to see the news. "What a news delivery, with full attitude! Well done," Kabir said back into the microphone, looking at Natasha. "From tomorrow, you'll be there, so prepare yourself," he said. Jas, who was giving visual effects along with the live news, also took a deep breath. Looking at the boy working with him, he said, "Today I did it. From now on, you'll do it." Then, to Natasha, he said, "Sakshi is the senior anchor here, so if she says something, don't take it to heart." Jas said this and left. Natasha, quiet, watched everything.

Kabir returned to his room. Just then, a girl entered his cabin with the click-clack of her heels and sat on the chair in front of Kabir. "Why didn't you come to see me today? Do you know how upset I get when you don't come to see me?" Sakshi said.

Kabir looked at her. "Look, Sakshi, we work here. So, just be like everyone else," Kabir said.

"What is it, Kabir? You haven't come home since you returned from home. You're staying with Ajit and Jas. Is something wrong, baby? Tell me," Sakshi said, coming closer to Kabir and turning his chair towards her. Then, taking his face in her hands, she asked, "Did I make a mistake? Okay, even if I made a mistake, forgive me. I haven't asked you anything about what happened, why you're not coming. Look, you're coming with me today," Sakshi said.

Kabir removed Sakshi's hands. "Sakshi, for now, I can't tell you anything, but yes, everything will be fine very soon, and we will be back to how we were," Kabir said. Sakshi looked at her hands, which Kabir had held and moved away. "Okay," she said and started to leave. But she stopped and asked, "We can meet for dinner, can't we?" Kabir nodded. She then left the cabin. Kabir also returned to his work.

In the evening, Jas came to Kabir. Kabir was looking at something on his laptop. Seeing Jas, he pushed the laptop aside. "Come on, Jas," Kabir said. Mehar came from behind. Kabir was a little surprised to see her but put on a devilish smile. "Yes, an hour has long passed. Are you ready to work now?" Kabir said. Mehar glared at him, then smiled and said, "My lord, have you left me any other option?" Jas was surprised to hear "My lord" from her mouth and suppressed his laughter, looking at Kabir, who was narrowing his eyes and glaring at him.

"Okay, go and bring me a black coffee," Kabir said. Mehar looked at him. Kabir said, "Did I say something? From today onwards, this will be your job. You will follow my orders, as long as I want." Mehar left, saying, "How can I hear anything good from a black coffee drinker's mouth?" As she was leaving, Ajit, who was passing by, heard her. "Black coffee," he said to himself and went into Kabir's cabin. Jas was already laughing there, and Kabir was looking at him.

"Black coffee," he muttered to himself and walked into Kabir's cabin. Jas was already laughing there, and Kabir was watching him.

"What's this black coffee business?" Ajit asked as he entered, and Kabir looked at him. "Oh, it's because Mehr was leaving without saying anything. How can she tolerate anything good coming from the mouth of a black coffee drinker?" Ajit said as he sat down. Then Jas, who had been laughing, burst into laughter and clapped. "Kabir, if you let me say something, this girl is your match, and you hired her yourself. Now there will be entertainment here every day," Jas said.

Ajit looked at him, "But what happened?" he asked. Jas, still laughing, pointed at Kabir. "Oh, she ordered black coffee. And what's more, you haven't hired Mehr for reporting, but as your secretary. So, you figure out what's going to happen here," Jas said, and Ajit looked at Kabir in surprise. "You've gone mad! Do you even know what she hasn't said to you since this morning? She wouldn't let you near her, and you've invited trouble yourself," Ajit said, and he too started laughing.

"Enough of you two. Join me, not her. Mine..." this voice came, and all three looked in that direction. Mehr was standing there with cups in her hands. Mehr looked at the three of them, "My coffee is ready," she said, meaning she had made the coffee, and placed the cup in front of Kabir. Ajit and Jas looked at each other and then at Kabir.

Kabir was looking at Mehr, who was smiling for no reason. Kabir shook his head and looked at Ajit and Jas. "If your work is done, you can go," Kabir said. Both of them were grinning at Mehr, who was signaling them something. Kabir looked at Mehr again, and she was gesturing with her hands.

"What is going on?" Kabir said loudly, and all three looked at him. "Man, I'm saying, let one mistake be forgiven," Ajit said. "Don't teach me what to do and what not to do," Kabir said. And looking at Mehr, "Your time is up, you can go. But if you're not here on time tomorrow, I'll have you removed from here too," Kabir said.

Mehr looked at him, "Are you some kind of don here that you'll have me removed? You don't know me. It's just a snap of the fingers," Mehr said, snapping her fingers. "No one will know where you go," Mehr said.

All three were looking at her. "Oh man, this girl is speaking lies with so much attitude that the other person would fall for her at first sight," Jas said to Ajit. "I'm surprised why the person she's talking to is so calm," Ajit said.

"Okay, snap your fingers first," Kabir said calmly, looking at her. Mehr glared at him, "It's time for me to leave, otherwise I would have shown you," she said, and as she was leaving, she slapped the table, causing the coffee cup to shake and coffee to spill out. Before Kabir could say anything, Mehr had already left the room.

"Looking at her, can anyone say that girls can be like this? A witch," Kabir said, while Ajit and Jas looked at her with amusement. "She's so sweet," both of them said. Kabir glared at them. "Get out, get out, both of you. Ever since she's arrived, you've been talking about her," Kabir said and started wiping the table with a tissue.

"Yes, our time is also up. We're leaving. You have to go with your Sakshi," Ajit said, getting up and leaving. Jas looked at him. "Everything else is fine, Kabir, but I don't like Sakshi. You're in a relationship, so we don't say anything. But that girl is beautiful, but not from the heart, only from the face," Jas said and left.

Kabir sat back down as he watched them both leave. "She is my love," Kabir muttered to himself and returned to working on his laptop. He came to his senses when his phone started ringing. Kabir picked up the phone and saw it was Sakshi's call. "Yes, speak," Kabir said while working. "We had a dinner plan today," Sakshi said. Kabir looked at the time, which was nine o'clock. "Okay, I'll be there in half an hour," he said, hung up the phone, stopped working on his laptop, and left.

When Kabir arrived in the parking lot, he realized his car had gone for repairs. This made him angry at Mehr again. "I don't know whose face I saw when I woke up this morning," Kabir muttered to himself and looked around the road. After thinking for a moment, he started walking. It was nine o'clock, but the streets looked as if everyone had just finished their work and come out. There was activity everywhere. Suddenly, Kabir's gaze fell on a coffee shop, and he saw Mehr through its mirror wall. At first, he thought it was his delusion, thinking she had left long ago. But then Mehr stood up, and the boy sitting in front of her also stood up. They hugged each other. Looking at both of them, it seemed like they were very close. Kabir was staring at her with wide eyes. "She looks very happy. And she trapped me. Her..." Kabir said. Then he got an idea, and he went inside the shop and suddenly stood next to Mehr. Mehr and the boy were both looking at Kabir. Kabir was looking at Mehr with a smile on his face.

    God bless.

Mehr and the boy were both looking at Kabir, and Kabir was looking at Mehr with a smile on his face. Mehr ignored him and said to the boy standing in front, "Okay, see you later."

"Who are you talking about meeting?" Kabir asked Mehr, coming close to her. Mehr was looking at him, and the boy standing in front was looking at both of them.

"What are you doing?" Mehr said softly, smiling at the boy in front and looking at him. "I'm doing what I should be doing," Kabir said, looking at Mehr. "And who are you?" Kabir asked, looking at the boy in front. "I have to go now," the boy said, looking at both of them.

"Of course, you should go," Kabir said. As Mehr was about to say something to Kabir, he pulled her closer by her waist from the side. "What man, it was just a small fight, why are you upset about this?" Kabir said. Mehr's mouth was agape after hearing Kabir's words. The boy in front smiled and said, "Okay, I should leave now," and left.

Mehr looked at Kabir, who was still standing there. Mehr stomped her foot hard on Kabir's foot. Kabir moved away from her, feeling the pain in his foot. "Wild cat," Kabir said, looking at Mehr.

"Perverted old man, how dare you touch me?" Mehr said, pointing her finger at him. Hearing such sweet words for himself from her mouth, Kabir's anger reached the seventh heaven. "How dare you call me a perverted old man?" Kabir said.

    "Perverted old man."

    "Like this."

Mehr said again, took her purse and scooter keys, and left. Kabir glared at her angrily. When he looked around, everyone was looking at him, as if they were also saying "perverted old man." Kabir ignored everyone and quickly came out. He saw Mehr sitting on her scooter.

Without understanding anything, Kabir came towards her and sat behind Mehr. Mehr looked at him and said, "What are you doing? Get off." "My car broke down because of you, and now you will drop me off," Kabir said. Mehr got off the scooter and said, "Get off right now, or I'll call the police."

"Call them," Kabir said, but he remained sitting on the scooter. Now he was taller than Mehr, and his legs were touching the ground. "I'm calling now," she said and quickly took out her phone from her purse.

Just then, she heard the sound of her scooter. She looked up and saw that Kabir had taken the scooter away from her. Mehr's eyes widened, and she ran after him, shouting, "Thief, he ran away with my scooter, thief!" Kabir stopped about five hundred meters away. He had heard Mehr call him a thief. When Mehr saw that Kabir had stopped ahead, she ran to him and looked at him, panting. "Who are you to take my scooter?" Mehr said, taking deep breaths.

Kabir looked at her with amusement.

    "Like this."

He said and drove the scooter forward again. Mehr could only watch him. "Old man, this is going to cost you dearly," Mehr said and started running again. Kabir stopped again after some distance.

This time, when Mehr came close, her face was red from running. Panting, she looked at Kabir. "Look, this is my scooter, and I just got it fixed this morning. You can't do this," she said. Kabir looked at her and said, "Leave me alone, then you can go wherever you want, I don't care." Mehr looked at him and said, "Okay, let's go," and started to sit behind him.

"No, no, no. You will drive and I will sit behind," Kabir said, sliding to the back of the seat. Mehr looked at him angrily, but at that moment, she didn't say anything and sat down to ride the scooter. Kabir's face was filled with the joy of victory.

After all, it was the first time since morning that Kabir had bothered Mehr. "Stop, stop right here," Kabir said, and Mehr stopped the scooter. There was a restaurant in front. Kabir got off and, taking out the scooter key, said, "Wait for me here," and went inside. Mehr could only watch him. It was ten o'clock at night, and it would take at least two hours to get home from the area she was in, and it was night. Mehr could only watch him go inside the big restaurant.

"What, Kabir, you're so late?" Sakshi said upon seeing Kabir. "I got caught up with work," Kabir said. Sakshi had booked a room in this restaurant, the walls of which were made of mirrors. Nothing could be seen from the outside, but one could see outside from the inside. "Come on," Sakshi said, holding Kabir's hand and leading him.

Kabir happily went with her. They both came and sat in the room. "You know, Kabir, we are meeting after so many days. You refused to come home, so I thought of having dinner here at your favorite restaurant," Sakshi said. Kabir looked at her and said, "Let's hurry, I'm very hungry."

By then, the waiter had also brought the food and left. Sakshi pulled her chair closer to Kabir and started serving him food. "I know you like non-vegetarian food a lot, so I ordered that," Sakshi said. She looked at Kabir, who was looking in a particular direction. Sakshi also looked in that direction. Outside, a girl was walking around, talking on the phone. Sakshi looked at Kabir and, drawing his attention to herself, said, "Kabir, you haven't said anything about me today." Kabir looked at her, she was wearing a black one-piece knee-length dress with dark makeup. "You look stunning as always," Kabir said, moving a lock of hair from her face. Sakshi, happy, said, "Come on, eat your food, you said you were hungry." And they both started eating.

“Come on, then, eat. You were hungry, weren’t you?” she said, smiling. And they both started to eat.

But in between, Kabir’s attention kept drifting outside. Mehar was standing there, feeding some children by the roadside. Kabir’s eating hands stopped. He looked outside.

Mehar was saying something to a boy, and the boy was doing as instructed. Just then, the parents of those children arrived and sat down too. Mehar gestured to the boy, who then started serving food to everyone. Mehar herself was holding a small child, perhaps four years old, in her lap and feeding him.

“What’s wrong, Kabir? Why aren’t you eating?” Sakshi asked. Kabir looked at her and replied, “I am eating.”

Sakshi, looking outside, said, “Some people just love to do social work, but they don’t realize this is a very famous restaurant.” She pulled out her phone from her purse and made a call.

“What are you doing?” Kabir asked, seeing her. “I’ve called the police to clear all this mess outside that girl has created,” Sakshi said and resumed eating. Kabir’s gaze once again went outside. Everyone’s faces were lit with smiles. A smile also appeared on Kabir’s face.

“Kabir, Mom and Dad want to meet you,” Sakshi said. Kabir looked at her. “They are coming to see me tomorrow. I’ve told them everything about us, so they wanted to meet you,” Sakshi said. Kabir said nothing and continued eating.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Sakshi asked, seeing Kabir’s silence. Kabir looked at her and said, “What should I say? Didn’t I tell you I don’t want all this right now?”

“I’m twenty-eight, and you’re thirty. If not now, then when, Kabir? I couldn’t hold Mom and Dad back any longer. They asked me every day, so I told them,” Sakshi said, her voice filled with surprise at Kabir’s words. Kabir said nothing.

“I’m just asking for some time,” Kabir said. “You’ve been asking for time for the past eight years,” Sakshi replied. Kabir’s appetite was gone. He wiped his face with a tissue.

“Honestly, I need time now. There’s a lot in my life that I need to handle. And until my family agrees to this relationship, I can’t say anything,” Kabir said.

“Then when will you tell your family, Kabir?” Sakshi asked. Kabir glanced at her and, standing up, said, “Thanks for the dinner,” and started to leave.

Sakshi grabbed his hand. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have spoken like that,” she said. Kabir looked at her. “Look, Sakshi, I need to build my career now. There’s a lot in life that I need to achieve. Only after that can I think about marriage,” Kabir said.

“Okay, but can’t we be like before?” Sakshi asked, coming closer to Kabir and running her fingers over his face. Kabir looked at her and smiled.

“Tell me, when are you moving into the flat? Your room is waiting,” Sakshi said seductively.

“Hmm,” Kabir said, pulling her closer, and he pulled Sakshi towards him.

“The room is waiting, but not you?” Kabir said softly, kissing Sakshi’s cheek. Sakshi then placed her lips on his. Both were lost in the moment.

Kabir and Sakshi were lost in each other when Sakshi turned, and Kabir’s attention was once again drawn outside. The police and Mehar were talking. Kabir kept looking in that direction, while Sakshi, seeing Kabir pause, separated from him and looked at him. She then looked outside. The police were talking to Mehar.

    “What happened?” Sakshi asked Kabir.

“I remembered something. I have to go now. See you at the office tomorrow,” Kabir said, leaving without waiting for Sakshi’s reply. Sakshi watched him go, her face filled with anger.

Kabir quickly came outside and saw that the police inspector was talking to Mehar and laughing. Mehar was also talking to him with a smile. Kabir came and stood next to Mehar.

“Oh, Kabir Ahluwalia,” the inspector said, seeing Kabir. Kabir nodded with a smile and shook his hand. Mehar watched him.

“What’s going on? How are you here today?” Kabir asked, glancing at Mehar and then at the inspector.

“Nothing, Mr. Ahluwalia. Someone called saying that some people were causing a disturbance outside this restaurant, so we came. But upon arriving, we found out that Mehar was just feeding everyone, with her own money. Do you know how expensive this restaurant is? Yet Mehar didn’t think twice and started feeding all these people,” the inspector said, looking aside, where constables were distributing food.

Just then, a shiny car stopped in front of the restaurant. A young man stepped out, looking like he belonged to a well-off family. After observing everything, he walked straight to Mehar.

“You shouldn’t have done this,” he said to Mehar. Mehar just smiled and looked at him. Then the restaurant manager came out. “Who told you to take money from Mehar?” the young man blurted out at him.

“Don’t you know Mehar is my friend?” the young man said. The manager was scared. In fact, he had only started working there a few days ago. “Sorry, sir, I didn’t know about madam,” the manager said.

“Sorry, Mehar. Some of the staff here are new and didn’t know about you,” the young man said. “Chill, Shekhar, it’s okay,” Mehar replied.

Kabir watched them both, surprised. The young man who had just gotten out of the car was Shekhar Bajaj. The Bajaj name was well-known in Mumbai, and BS Restaurants belonged to them. Kabir had come for dinner here today.

“Alright, tell me, what do you want to eat?” Shekhar asked. “I’ve eaten. Just do me a favor. I’ve heard that leftover food from your restaurant is thrown away at lunchtime. So, please, why throw it away? Distribute it among these children,” Mehar said. “Absolutely, that’s how it will be,” Shekhar said. And then his attention shifted to Kabir, who had been watching them for a while.

“Mehar, who is this?” Shekhar asked, coming closer to Mehar. “My boss,” Mehar said softly. Shekhar looked at her. “Oh ho, boss and dinner? What’s this?” Shekhar said with a smile.

Mehar glared at him. “So, Shekhar, looking at him, is there nothing like that?” he asked. Mehar smiled. “You can’t be helped,” Shekhar said.

“I don’t want to do anything,” Mehar said, looking at him.

The inspector, who had been watching them both, said, “Okay, Mr. Shekhar, we’ll leave now. Our work is done.” Shekhar shook hands with him. The inspector placed his hand on Mehar’s head and left with his constables.

Then, the manager came to Shekhar and handed him an envelope. “This is your money, Shekhar,” he said, handing the envelope towards Shekhar and then towards Mehar. Mehar took the money.

Kabir was still watching them both. “Shall we go, sir? I need to go home,” Mehar said to Kabir. Kabir nodded. Shekhar glanced at Mehar. “So, is your Ram Pyari broken down again?” Shekhar asked. Mehar showed him her teeth. “And don’t tell me it was your boss’s car this time,” Shekhar said. Mehar made a pitiable face and nodded.

Shekhar looked at Kabir and shook his hand. “By the way, sir, she drives very well, but her luck is so bad that the day she joins, Ram Pyari breaks down,” Shekhar said. Kabir gave a slight smile.

“Well, I should be going now,” Shekhar said and waved goodbye to both of them, getting into the car. Kabir, looking at Mehar, said, “Now, drop me home.” Mehar made a face and walked towards the scooter.

"Leave me at my house now," he said. Meher made a face and stood by the scooter.

"Drive now," Kabir said, and Meher glared at him. "Where is the key?" she asked.

Kabir looked at her and quickly took the key out of his pocket and gave it to Meher. Meher took the key, started the scooter, Kabir sat on, and they both left.

"Can I ask you something?" Kabir said.

    "Absolutely," Meher replied.

"If you are so rich, why do you work? You fed at least forty people there, with money. It was good that Shekhar returned the money," Kabir said.

While riding the scooter, Meher said, "I am not rich at all. Everyone in my family earns and manages their own expenses. The manager refused to provide food, so I gave my savings of two months."

Kabir was surprised by her words. "Savings of two months?" he said. Meher said nothing and continued riding.

"Sir, which way from here?" Meher asked. Now there was a happiness on her face because she had reached the area where her rented room was.

"Go left," Kabir said. Meher became even happier because she had to go in the same direction.

"Thank God, after riding for two hours, I don't have to go alone," Meher thought happily.

"Sir, there are two paths ahead. Which way should we go?" Meher stopped the scooter and asked, looking at both paths. One path led to everyone's individual homes, and the other led to Aashiyana, where the buildings were.

Meher thought Kabir would go the other way. When Kabir didn't say anything, she started heading in that direction.

"Hey, go the other way," Kabir said while talking on the phone. Meher was surprised.

"Sir, Aashiyana is that way," Meher said.

"Yes, my flat is there," Kabir said.

    Hearing this, Meher's eyes widened.

    "Oh," she said.

"Come on, it's already twelve o'clock," Kabir said, removing the phone from his ear.

"Sir, how long have you been living here?" Meher asked.

"For the last four years," Kabir replied. "Drop me here," he said. So Meher dropped him off.

Kabir walked ahead without looking at Meher, while Meher just watched him go. As soon as Kabir went inside, Meher started the scooter and also went through the large gate. Then she stopped, came back, and looked at the guard, who had been watching Meher for a long time but didn't have the courage to speak.

"Hey, listen," Meher said, and he came out with a meek expression.

"Look, madam, I haven't done anything wrong this time," he said.

Meher glared at him and looked around. "The person who just went inside, right?" Meher said, and the guard nodded.

"He shouldn't know that I also live here. If he finds out, boy, you're done for," Meher said, narrowing her eyes.

The guard nodded negatively. "And yes, you understand what to tell the two uncles from this morning, right?" Meher said, looking at him.

    He nodded in agreement.

"Good. Now, if I see you doing the same thing again, consider your girlfriend gone," Meher said, glaring at him, and started the scooter and left. The guard stood there stunned, watching her.

"In which auspicious moment did I encounter this witch?" he said, looking up at the sky.

And he started watching Meher go.

"The one she spoke about is already holding a grudge against me. It's a good thing he didn't notice me. God, was I the only one you found to get caught by these two?" he cursed himself.

All the buildings in Aashiyana were three floors high. Yes, there was an elevator, but it was mostly used by the elderly. Meher quickly reached her building, parked her scooter, and quickly went inside. Meher climbed the stairs to the third floor and quickly opened and closed her house door. And she started taking deep breaths.

"Baba ji, did you have to do all this to me? First, that old man smashed my Rampyari, then he was giving me money. Well, that was fine too; he sent me to his office. Isn't this too much?" Meher said, placing her purse on the table as she came in.

She then took off her dupatta, threw it on the sofa, and sat down.

"Alright Baba ji, it was okay up to here, but now what? That old man lives here, and I didn't even know. I know every move of the people living here, so how did this old man escape?" Meher thought.

"Forget all this; what do I care? I'm only concerned with my work," Meher said and went into her room, and straight into the bathroom.

When she came out, she was wearing a nightsuit with little teddy bears on it. She went to the room's balcony. Here she had a very cute swing installed, along with some flowers. On one side, there was a yoga mat. Meher came and sat on the round swing and started swinging. In a short while, she fell asleep.

Outside, the moon was full in the sky, and its light filled the entire sky.

Oh God, what will happen when Kabir finds out that Meher, aka Chudel, also lives here? Let's see what happens next.

    The next day

"Jas, get up and make tea," Ajit, who was sleeping next to him, said while kicking Jas.

Jas slowly got up and, glaring at him, said, "Okay, I'm going. You freshen up," Jas said and walked out yawning. Ajit lay down again.

"What are you doing here?" Jas asked, seeing Kabir in the kitchen. "What do you think?" Kabir replied, looking at him.

"But weren't you with that Sakshi?" Jas went ahead, picked up a glass, took water from the RO, and then looked at Kabir while drinking.

Hearing Jas's words, he remembered Mehr's face, who was feeding the children while they sat.

"Hey, where are you lost? Your tea is boiling," Jas said, turning off the gas. Kabir quickly looked that way.

"Nothing, man, just a little worried," Kabir said and strained the tea into cups and took it outside.

"What's the big deal? You're always worried," Jas also said, taking his tea, and came into the living area and sat on the sofa.

Kabir ignored his words and went and stood in the balcony. The morning view from here was soul-soothing.

Then his gaze fell on the other building. The girl was still sleeping on the swing there today, her hair loose.

This flat actually belonged to Jas, and Ajit was living with him. The three-room flat was very airy and well-constructed. Kabir had been living here for the past month. He also had his own flat, but Sakshi and Kabir had decided to live together two years ago, so Sakshi had started living in that flat. Their relationship had also been going on for eight years. They had met at the same news channel. AK News channel was doing very well. It was third among all news channels in Mumbai. But for a month, Kabir had started living with Jas and Ajit.

Since then, he had been seeing the girl sleeping on the swing, whose face he had never been able to see. But now he had gotten used to seeing her. He used to drink his morning tea standing there, looking at that balcony. But even then, the girl wouldn't wake up. Kabir used to leave from there by 7 o'clock. But today he had woken up late. He hadn't thought he would see the girl there, but today too she was sleeping in the same way. A smile appeared on Kabir's face. "She seems like a pampered daughter of her parents, still sleeping," he said to himself, sipping his tea.

"Kabir, yesterday's news is on, man," a voice came from inside, and Kabir walked that way. Going inside, he sat next to Jas.

    "What happened?" he asked.

"The news Sakshi gave yesterday is still running," Jas said.

Kabir watched Sakshi on TV, who was delivering the news with full attitude.

"Yes, yesterday Aaj Tak asked for that news, so I told them to telecast it with our channel's logo," Kabir said.

"Just like this, one day our news channel will also become a national channel," Jas said.

"Yes, and that day is not far," Kabir said. Then his phone started ringing. So he told Jas to turn everything off and not make any noise. Jas agreed and sat quietly.

Kabir put the phone to his ear but said nothing.

"What happened, son? Will you not talk to us now?" came a voice from the other side.

"No, Mom, it's not like that," Kabir said, then Jas looked at him. Kabir got up and went to the balcony.

"Where are you?" it was said from the other side.

"I told you I was coming," Kabir said.

"When will you come home?" it was said from the other side. "Mom," Kabir said.

"See, son, I have two children, you and your sister. She is younger, so her wishes were always fulfilled. What fault was hers? What had to happen has happened. Think about that girl..."

"Mom, I don't want to talk about this right now," Kabir said, stopping his mother.

"Yes, son, now you are all grown up. Where will you talk?" There was laughter in Mom's tone, in which she was perhaps hiding her helplessness.

Kabir closed his eyes. "Mom, I'll tell you before I come," Kabir said.

"As you wish. But listen, there is no one here waiting for you. Who are we to stop anyone?" Mom said and hung up the phone. Kabir took the phone away from his ear and slammed his hand on the railing. "What are you doing? What's Mom's fault in this?" he said to himself.

"What happened?" Jas asked, coming there. "Nothing," Kabir said, looked at him, and went inside. Jas kept looking at him.

Then he looked ahead. The girl was still on the swing. Just then, he checked the time on his phone. It was five seconds to eight. "One, two, three, four, five." As soon as Jas said five, looking ahead, the girl who was sleeping on the swing fell down with a thud. Jas started laughing loudly.

"Did she fall?" Ajit's voice came from behind.

"Yes, man, you missed it by just two seconds," Jas said, laughing.

Ajit hit him on the head. "Are you crazy? She falls every day, and you laugh every day," Ajit said, coming inside.

"What should I do? I've been watching her fall for the past year," Jas said, following him.

Mehr, who was sleeping soundly on the swing, fell with a thud. This was not the first time it had happened to her; she fell every day. Rubbing her eyes, she got up. "It's eight o'clock," she said, sitting up, and slowly opened her eyes. A smile was on Mehr's face. She got up and went inside.

Unaware that her three bosses started their mornings by watching her, Mehr quickly started doing all her work. After bathing, she came to the kitchen and started making tea. She also heated some bread and ate it quickly.

Mehr's phone rang, and she quickly picked it up. "Yes, Dad, I'm ready to go to the office. I'm eating bread. Today I'm wearing a green suit with white embroidery."

"Enough, enough, enough, Mehr," came the voice from the other side. "Turn on the video," another voice said. So Mehr quickly turned on the video on her phone.

A couple was sitting in front of her, both looking at Mehr. "Mom, Dad," Mehr said, looking at both of them.

"How thin you've become," Mom said.

"What, Mom? Is this called dieting?" Mehr said.

"No, daughter, this is called compulsion when we don't get ready on time," Mehr's father said, and Mehr showed him her teeth.

"What's the matter? Do you have something to say?" Mehr's father asked.

"Yes, well, Ram Pyari was rejected again yesterday," Mehr said.

The two sitting on the other side looked at each other. "How was she rejected?" Mom asked.

"What happened was, I was going through the middle of the road," Mehr started explaining with hand gestures.

"Then a car driver started honking loudly from behind. Now, what was my fault? There was such a crowd there," Mehr said. On the other side, listening to her, both were looking at her.

"Then I got very angry, and I stopped Ram Pyari. So Dad, you know, that car driver didn't stop his car but hit me instead," Mehr said to her father, and her father nodded in agreement with Mehr's words.

"Then what, I broke the window of his car," Mehr said.

"Oh, then what happened?" Mom asked, as if she already knew that Mehr would say something like this.

"What else could happen?" Mehr said with a pout. "Meaning?" Dad asked. "The person whose window I broke turned out to be my boss," Mehr said softly, looking at both of them.

"So the real story is revealed now," Dad said. Mom looked at both of them and said, "You two will get into trouble one day," and got up and left.

"Tell me, is that boss bothering you? Otherwise, I'll come there right now," Dad said.

"No, no one is bothering me, and do you think anyone can bother me?" Mehr said. Dad laughed.

"Dad, talk to Veer," Mehr said, and the expression on Dad's face changed.

"When Veer comes home, I'll also come then. You decide now," Mehr said. Dad looked at Mehr. "Okay, work carefully, and go carefully today," he said, and Mehr nodded in agreement. The phone screen turned black. Mehr took a deep breath and quickly arranged everything properly and went to her room to get her purse.

Mehar took a deep breath and quickly put everything in order before going into the room to get her purse.

After a while, Mehar came out of the room unrecognizable. She had covered her entire face with a scarf, wore dark glasses, and had a cute backpack slung over her shoulder. Before opening the main door, Mehar looked up, seeing the ceiling.

"Baba Ji, just please don't let me encounter that old man. I will definitely come to pay my respects tonight, just listen to this one plea of mine," she said. And opening the door, she went out.

Very carefully, she came down. Now her direction was towards her scooter. She took her scooter, started it quickly, and drove away from there. Until Mehar reached the main road, her heart was pounding, fearing that the old man might see her.

"I'm safe. Anyway, no one can recognize me, I'm that smart," Mehar said to herself.

"Are you not going, Kabir?" Ajit, who was sitting in the car, asked. Kabir, who was looking ahead, had seen a scooter from here. Its number seemed familiar, but he couldn't figure out whose it was. "Yes, yes, I'm coming," he said and sat down in the back. Then Jas drove the car forward.

As Mehar entered the lift, she breathed a sigh of relief. And pressed the button for the tenth floor. Mehar stood comfortably when the lift stopped at the next floor, and two boys got in. They looked at Mehar, who was engrossed in her phone with her head bowed. Both boys were looking at her.

"Hey beautiful," one of the boys said. Mehar looked at him and then returned to her phone.

"Oh, she didn't say anything. Seems like she's mute," the other said. Mehar looked at him and smiled.

Reaching the tenth floor, the lift stopped, and Mehar got out. Inside the lift, the two boys looked at each other, then held hands, and stood up. As the lift doors closed, tears welled up in their eyes. Both looked at their hands, which had a black mark in the center.

When they were calling Mehar mute, Mehar looked at them and smiled, "Not at all, I can hear everything," she said.

Then one of the boys looked at her and said, "Is this your first time here?"

    "Yes, first time," Mehar replied.

"Will you be friends with us?" the other asked.

"Hmm, it depends. If you both can hold my hand for ten seconds," Mehar said.

Both boys' eyes lit up. Mehar extended her hand, and the first boy grabbed Mehar's hand with a jerk. Mehar started looking at the time.

"Wow, you completed ten seconds," Mehar said. The boy nodded his head. Then the second boy also extended his hand towards Mehar, and Mehar held that hand.

"What happened? Why are you sweating so much?" Mehar said, looking at the boy. He shook his head no.

"Woooow, you also completed ten seconds," Mehar said and released his hand. The boy quickly lowered his hand.

"Well, I have to go now. Let's talk in the evening," Mehar said and got out as the lift doors opened.

The two boys looked at each other. "I'm not coming in the evening. If you want to come, happily do so," one boy said and walked out as the lift doors opened.

"I love my life too," he said and followed the first boy.

When Mehar reached the office, she saw Natasha and Dee right in front. As soon as Mehar arrived, she placed the magnet-type bracelet she was wearing on her wrist on the desk. And said "Hi" to Natasha. Dee said "Hi" to Mehar, his attention fixed on that bracelet.

"What is this?" he said, picking it up.

Just as Mehar was about to say something, Dee picked it up, and a loud scream echoed. Mehar, Natasha, and everyone else present looked at Dee. Dee was holding his chest.

    "It's electric," he said.

Mehar quickly put the bracelet in her bag and, looking at Dee, said, "Did you build this body to show off like Devdas? Those boys in the lift were better than you."

"Oh God, what have you done? Did those people die?" Natasha exclaimed, while Dee was glaring at Mehar. "No, no, they just got caught trying to uphold the virtue of friendship," Mehar said.

"Now what happened to him?" Natasha asked, looking at Dee.

"What do I know what happened to him?" Mehar said.

"My name is Dee, understand?" Dee said.

"Sorry, sorry, in a hurry, I took your short name," Mehar said.

"Dee is a short name, go and become Devdas," Dee said, glaring at Mehar.

Natasha, looking at Dee, said, "Hey, you fool, she got your name out of your own mouth!"

Dee, looking at Mehar, said, "This girl is truly dangerous," and left from there.

Watching him go, Natasha asked Mehar, "By the way, did Sir say anything to you yesterday?"

"He doesn't have the guts to say anything to me," Mehar said. Natasha, who was looking at her, her gaze drifted behind Mehar.

"You know what I did? That hot boss of yours thought he was so smart. I taught him a good lesson. Now he'll never mess with me again. You know he's a perverted old man, don't go near him, especially not alone. Now, you aren't as brave as me to break his car window and still come to his office, understand?" Mehar, who was looking for something in her bag, looked at Natasha, whose face had turned pale.

Everyone working in that place was staring at Mehar with their mouths open.

"Why are you all looking as if your hot boss is standing right behind me?" Mehar said. They all nodded yes.

Mehar, who was boasting until now, shook her head no at Natasha, who then nodded yes.

Mehar closed her eyes and bowed her head. "Why, Mehar, why can't you control yourself?" she said softly. And then she turned around. Kabir was looking at her angrily. Ajit and Jas seemed like they were there but not there. They were looking at Mehar as if she didn't belong to this world.

Mehar, seeing Kabir, winked her eyes. "I was just praising you," Mehar said.

Kabir glanced at everyone in the office, who immediately returned to their work upon seeing him. Then he looked at Mehar. "Bring me my coffee," he said and left. Mehar took a deep breath.

Ajit and Jas came to Mehar. "By the way, how do you say all this?" Jas asked. Mehar looked at them. "Do you both also want to be showered with praises?" Mehar said.

"No, absolutely not. We are fine as we are," Ajit said and quickly left from there.

Jas, looking at Mehar, said, "You are different from everyone."

"I am just unique, that's why," she said. Jas laughed. "Get your boss's black coffee. His mood is off anyway," Jas said and left.

Hearing about Kabir, Mehar scrunched up her nose. "Look at him, my boss," she said.

"Mehar, are you okay? Did you hit your head somewhere?" Natasha asked. Mehar glared at her. "No, I just asked casually," Natasha said and left. The rest of them were also looking at Mehar, so Mehar glanced at everyone and left from there.

"Man, what a girl! I mean, if she didn't spare her own boss, what will she do to us? I'll stay away from her," one boy said, watching the departing Mehar.

Another boy, looking at him, said, "Don't even think about it. I feel like there's something between her and Kabir sir. Otherwise, Kabir sir, so calm, absolutely not." The boy sitting next to him said. Then both returned to their work.

Mehar took coffee for Kabir and went into his cabin. He was working on his laptop. "Sir, your black coffee," Mehar said.

Kabir looked at her. "Put it down," he said.

Mehar placed the coffee down and was about to leave when Kabir said, "Wait." Mehar looked at him. "Yes sir," she said.

Kabir looked at Mehar intently and leaned back in his chair. "What floor are you standing on here?" Kabir asked.

    "Tenth," Mehar replied.

"How many floors is the office?" Kabir asked.

    "Three," Mehar said.

"Then the archive room is on the twelfth floor. All the newspapers are there, all of them. Go there, sort out those newspapers, and bring me the data for accident cases from the last four years. You have four hours," Kabir said. A sly smile was on his face.

Mehar looked at him, narrowing her eyes. "Your time starts now," Kabir said.

Mehar stomped her feet and left from there. Kabir looked at the coffee and started drinking it. "Not bad," he said, taking a sip of coffee, and then resumed his work.

Mehar angrily walked out of the cabin and started towards the lift, but then stopped, took her bag, and left.

As she entered the lift, she saw the same two boys who had been in the lift with her an hour ago.

"Hello," Mehar said sweetly. Then both boys got out of the lift without saying anything. Mehar laughed looking at them. "So much for wanting to be friends with me," she said and pressed the "key" for the upper floor.

The two boys went directly to Kabir's office. Seeing them, Kabir got up from his chair. "What happened? Why the long faces?" Kabir asked.

"Nothing, nothing," one of the boys said. Kabir looked at both of them. "Okay, sit down," he said. So they sat on the chairs in front of him.

"Why have you come?" Kabir asked.

"Our elder brother wants you to come home once," one of them said.

Kabir looked at them. "Love, I have already clarified everything. Last year, I bought these three floors from your brother. So why is he calling me now?" Kabir asked.

Then the other boy said, "Brother, Elder Brother wants to talk to you about something."

"Look, there is nothing to talk about now," Kabir said.

The two boys looked at each other. "Brother, just come once. You two are friends, so why are you angry with them?" Love said.

"You know the reason for my anger, Love, and it's justified," Kabir said.

"Brother wants to meet you. Just meet him once, and anyway, today is his birthday," Kush said.

Kabir looked at them. "Okay, I'll come in the evening, but tell Ram I won't stay long," Kabir said.

Love and Kush happily said, "Okay, brother," and started to leave, but Love stopped and looked at Kabir. "What is it?" Kabir asked.

"Brother, when we came here, a girl left from here. Does she work here?" Love asked.

Kabir looked at both of them. "Did something happen?" Kabir said, looking at both of them.

"No, no, absolutely nothing happened," Kush said.

"Yes, she just arrived," Kabir said. Saying "Okay," both left. Kabir shook his head, watching them go.

    God protect.

"No, no, absolutely nothing happened," Kush said.

"Yes, she has just arrived," Kabir said. Saying "Okay," they both left, while Kabir nodded, watching them both.

Mehar reached the archive and headed in the direction that the girl sitting outside, who was doing something on her computer, had told her.

"This old man definitely did this deliberately, what else? He told me to bring reports and now I am sifting through newspapers," Mehar said to herself.

As she walked, she reached the place where all the newspapers were kept, very neatly arranged. Mehar took a deep breath and got to work. For two hours, Mehar sat there, looking through all the newspapers and separating the useful material. Just then, she received a message on her phone. Mehar looked at it and got back to her work.

Jas had initially given Natasha only five minutes of screen time, during which Natasha did an amazing job, which even surprised him.

    "Well done," Jas said.

    Natasha smiled.

For the afternoon news, Sakshi and Natasha were supposed to give the news together, but Sakshi still hadn't arrived. When Kabir found out, he came there himself.

Just then, Sakshi arrived. "What are you doing?" Kabir asked angrily. Because Natasha had just been sent with another anchor who was currently on screen.

"What are you doing?" Sakshi asked, seeing Kabir.

Kabir saw everyone there and went into his cabin. Sakshi followed him. "Tell me honestly, what is going on in your mind?" she said.

"You tell me what's going on," Kabir said, sitting in his chair.

"Last night, you left me there for her, for that girl who just arrived here," Sakshi said. Kabir kept looking at her.

"I knew that you had come there with her yesterday and had gone home with her. What is it about that girl that you forgot me?" Sakshi said.

"You were following me?" Kabir said.

Sakshi looked at him and said, "Yes, I was following you. I kept thinking all night about what it is about this girl who arrived yesterday that I don't have. For the first time, you ignored me like this, and that too for that girl. What is going on between you two?"

"Love," This voice came, and Kabir and Sakshi looked back. Mehar was entering through the door, holding a lot of papers and reading them as she came in. After uttering the last word, "love," she placed all the newspapers on the table. Then she noticed Kabir, who was looking at her.

"What?" You were the one who said to bring the newspapers, Mehar said, and saw Sakshi standing in front of her, glaring at her.

"Oops, I'm sorry. It seems you were having some personal conversation," Mehar said, seeing them both staring at her, and started to leave. Just then, a girl entered Kabir's cabin, placed a coffee cup, and left.

    "Wait," Sakshi said to Mehar.

Mehar, who had just taken a step, stopped and looked at Sakshi.

    "Yes, ma'am," she said.

"Where were you yesterday?" Sakshi asked. Mehar glanced at Kabir.

"I was right here, where else would I go?" she said.

"Where were you at night?" Sakshi asked again.

"I was dropping sir home," Mehar said. Sakshi looked at Kabir, who was listening intently to Mehar.

"Why? Why did you go?" Sakshi shouted angrily.

Mehar looked at her in surprise.

"It so happened, ma'am, that I had completely trashed sir's car, so sir asked me for a lift," Mehar said, and looked at Kabir, who was staring at her.

Sakshi looked at both of them, filled with anger.

"Why would he ask you for a lift? You must have lured him," Sakshi said and picked up the coffee cup from the table.

Mehar, who was watching her every move, couldn't move from her spot before Sakshi threw the entire coffee at her.

Kabir was stunned. He absolutely did not expect this from Sakshi. Mehar didn't do much, but she covered her face with her hands, due to which the hot coffee fell on her hands and a little on her stomach.

"This is very hot. It's burning me," Mehar said, leaning against the wall, and looked at her hand, which had turned red instantly.

"What have you done?" Kabir said to Sakshi, quickly holding Mehar's hand.

Sakshi looked at both of them angrily and said, "I haven't done anything yet, but I will teach this girl a lesson very soon."

Kabir looked at her angrily and said, "You get up and sit in the chair," he said, supporting Mehar.

In the meantime, he felt Mehar shivering, and a lot. But at this moment, his attention was on Mehar's reddened hand.

"Sorry sir, I have to go now," Mehar said, moving away from Kabir.

Kabir, while helping her sit in the chair, said, "Go, but wait for a moment." He then made a call, asking for cold water to be brought from the canteen, and also for the doctor to come.

"Have you gone mad, Sakshi? What kind of behavior is this?" Kabir said, coming up to her.

"You never cared this much for me. What happened today?" Sakshi said.

"For God's sake, Sakshi, put a stop to this nonsense you are talking. And yes, I asked her for a lift yesterday. I didn't know you were following me."

"Why did you ask her for a lift? You could have told me, I would have dropped you. I have a car," Sakshi said.

Kabir was surprised to hear her. In all these years, this was the first time he had seen Sakshi behave like this. She looked like a psycho at this moment.

"It's useless talking to you. You leave now," Kabir said to Sakshi.

Just then, Ajit entered. "What happened, Kabir? Who is hurt? Are you okay?" he said, but seeing the scene, he was stunned and moved Kabir aside.

"Hey Mehar, Mehar, get up, Mehar," he said. Mehar opened her eyes and looked at him.

"Sir, I want to go home," Mehar said softly, but Ajit was shaken just by seeing her red eyes.

The girl he had seen smiling and laughing a few hours ago was now in this state.

"Kabir, what happened here?" Ajit asked, still sitting beside Mehar.

"I'll tell you later. First, let's put her hand in cold water," Kabir said, taking the bowl from the boy and putting Mehar's hand in it.

Ajit just kept looking at Kabir, who was holding Mehar's hand and keeping it in the water. Sakshi, who was standing there watching everything, stomped her feet and left.

"The coffee fell on her hand, then why did her eyes turn so red?" Kabir asked the doctor.

At this time, Jas and Natasha were also standing in the cabin. Natasha was beside Mehar.

"It happens sometimes. The coffee was very hot, and her skin is also very sensitive, so the effect was greater. I've given her an injection, she'll be fine in an hour. But let her sleep so her eyes can heal," the doctor said. Kabir paid his fees, and Jas escorted the doctor out.

"Natasha, we'll be outside. You apply this cream to her properly," Kabir said to Natasha. And the three of them left the room. Mehar was still lying on the sofa with her eyes closed.

"Are you okay, Mehar?" Natasha asked. "I'm fine, but all this has been ruined. What do I do now?" Mehar said.

Natasha was happy to see Mehar talking like before.

"We'll look at all this tomorrow. Now it's time to leave," Natasha said.

"Okay, I'll come tomorrow and finish all this properly," Mehar said.

"What happened, what happened?" D came running. Mehar and Natasha had already left the cabin.

"What happened to him? Why is he panting so much?" Mehar asked Natasha.

    "I don't know," Natasha said.

"I heard someone spilled coffee on you," D said, holding Mehar's hand.

Mehar glared at him. "Devdas, leave my hand," she said.

D looked at her. "Say whatever you want, but tell me where it's burnt. Was the coffee hot?" D said.

"Hey, you idiot! The coffee fell on the hand you are holding," Mehar said loudly.

Hearing this, D quickly let go of Mehar's hand and took two steps back.

"Look, Mehar, I didn't know, that's why I held your hand. See, I was worried about you," D said.

Mehar looked at him. "Okay, thank you for asking about my condition," she said.

"Weren't you out? When did you come back?" Natasha asked D, and the three of them started walking.

"Yes, I was out, but I didn't get the report, so I did what I could," D said.

The three of them came out talking and went their separate ways. Mehar came to her scooter. She looked at her hand, which had red marks. She took out her phone, booked a cab, and stood by the roadside. After a while, the cab arrived, and Mehar got in and left. Kabir was watching all this, standing in the gallery from Jas's cabin. He came back inside, where Jas was engrossed in his work.

Kabir was watching all this standing in the gallery attached to Jas's cabin. He came back inside, where Jas was busy with his work.

"What happened here? What are you doing?" Jas asked.

"I'm leaving," Kabir shouted at him.

"Hey, this isn't your house, and I'm not Sakshi that you're shouting at me," Jas said as he was leaving, talking to Kabir.

So Kabir stopped, closed his eyes, and then looked at Jas. "Sorry," he said.

Sadness was clearly visible in his voice. Jas, who was watching him sitting on his chair, said, "Sit here." So Kabir came and sat down. Along with that, Jas called Ajit.

"Now tell me what's the matter that you're so down," Jas said. Ajit was also looking at him. Kabir looked at both of them.

    "I'm tired," Kabir said.

"Then go and rest," Ajit said. Jas glared at him.

Looking at him, Kabir said, "I don't understand what I should do."

    "About what?" Jas asked.

"About Sakshi," Kabir said. Both of them started looking at him. "What happened now?" they said together.

"I don't know why, but Sakshi's behavior today was very strange. Seeing her today, it felt like I don't know her at all," Kabir said. Ajit looked at him and said, "You realized this after eight years?"

"Look, you know I've only been here for the last year. Otherwise, I had to go out constantly. Even though I never showed my face on TV, all the major news came on this channel, and you know how it came. Don't you say this," Kabir said to Ajit.

"We know what you are and who you are. But it's also equally true that Sakshi is not right for you, especially not for you. Think again, do you want to spend your whole life with her?" Jas said seriously. Kabir was looking at him.

"Today I'll go and talk to her, and anyway, our profession is such that we talk to girls too. We go around together, this is not the first time she's seeing this," Kabir said. Jas and Ajit both laughed looking at him.

"If there's no trust in love, then I don't want such love," Jas said.

Looking at him, Ajit said, "Trust and faith are very important in this relationship," Ajit said, placing his hand on Kabir's shoulder.

Kabir nodded and got up to leave. Then Jas tossed the car keys towards Kabir. Kabir looked at the keys and then at Jas. "Your car keys are fixed," Jas said. Kabir became happy just thinking that his car was fixed, and he quickly went downstairs.

"What happened to him?" Ajit asked Jas.

    "Love," Jas said, laughing.

"I know he loves Sakshi," Ajit said, looking at the file.

"No, not Sakshi, but Meher. He loves Meher," Jas said looking at Ajit, and Ajit looked at him in surprise.

"Do you know the difference between attraction and love?" Jas said. Ajit looked at him.

"That attraction always happens when an object is present, and love always remains, whether it's present or far away. That's the situation with Kabir right now. He doesn't understand yet, but he's been keeping an eye on her for the last two hours, worried about Meher. From his phone. And during this time, he didn't even think about Sakshi for a moment. He didn't even bother to ask how Sakshi might be at this moment. But since then, he's been checking on Meher every five minutes," Jas said.

Ajit stared at him, mouth agape. "How do you know all this? You're single yourself," he said.

"My life is like this, I can't be tied down in a relationship with anyone. And secondly, I haven't found anyone yet," Jas said, twirling a pen between his fingers.

Looking at him, Ajit said, "This life is our own choice. I have no regrets."

"Neither do I. But yes, I am looking for a companion whose heart desires only me, and that too with deep affection," Jas said.

Ajit looked at him and said, "Surely there will be. There will be for me too. But for now, think about Kabir."

"No, I don't want to think about him. He's quite smart, smarter than all of us. If he doesn't understand his own heart's feelings, it's not our fault," Jas said.

Ajit looked at him and smiled, "By the way, someone told me yesterday that his sister is coming. The time has come, and he's sitting here giving lectures." He was looking at Jas.

Jas, who was enjoying twirling the pen in his fingers and looking at the ceiling, suddenly got up startled.

"What have I done? That hungry lioness will eat me raw," Jas said and went out. Ajit, smiling, waved, "God, who would say he's the elder brother?" he said to himself and got back to his work.

As soon as Kabir left the office, he got a call from Kush. Seeing it, he remembered that he had to meet Ram. Ram Taneja, owner of Taneja Builders, was a friend of Kabir's, or you could say a family friend. But Kabir had broken all ties with Ram six months ago.

Kabir took a deep breath and turned the car onto the road. Now his destination was Tanejas'.

An hour later, he was standing in that large hall, looking around. Just then, Lav and Kush came and hugged Kabir.

"Brother, you've come," they both said together.

Kabir smiled, "By the way, where is your brother whose birthday it is?" Kabir said, placing his hand on both their heads.

"He's just coming," Lav said, took Kabir's hand, made him sit on the sofa, and then both sat around him.

Just then, Ram was seen descending the stairs, and a girl was coming with him. Kabir saw her and nodded, then started looking at Lav and Kush again. Ram, who looked about Kabir's age, said goodbye to the girl and came to Kabir.

"Kabir, you've finally come today," Ram said, coming in front of Kabir.

Kabir stood up, said "Happy birthday," and also took out a chocolate from his pants pocket and gave it to Ram.

Ram took the chocolate, said "Thank you," and then opened the wrapper and started eating it.

Kabir was watching him. Ram placed his hand on Kabir's shoulder and started taking him along.

"Don't you think that I run a news channel, and I'll reveal everything about you on my news channel?" Kabir said as he walked with him.

"Feel free to tell, but first bring proof. If you find even one piece of evidence, then your sword will take my head," Ram said, looking at Kabir, and then pulled out a chair at the dining table and made him sit down. Lav and Kush also came and sat near them. Ram sat in his place.

Just then, Kabir saw a girl coming, and Kabir was surprised. She looked married.

"Meet my wife, her name is Aisha," Ram said, looking at Kabir. Kabir was looking at both of them in surprise.

Aisha brought the cake and placed it on the table. She stood next to Ram. "How are you, Kabir?" Aisha asked.

"Have you two gotten married?" Kabir said.

"Yes, it's been a month. You weren't here then, otherwise, we would have included you too," Ram said.

"Brother, cut the cake quickly, we have to go to the pub too," Lav said. So Ram looked at Kabir, "Now come on," he said. So Kabir got up and came to Ram.

They both cut the cake together. Ram fed the first piece to Kabir, then to Aisha. Kabir also fed cake to Ram, and then to Lav and Kush.

"Okay brother, sister-in-law, we're going to the pub. You rest, don't worry about us," Kush said, and both of them left.

The servants had started serving food. Aisha was sitting next to Ram. Ram himself was serving food to Kabir.

"What happened, Kabir? Didn't you like the food?" Aisha said.

"No, Aisha. If you cook the food, how can it not be good?" Kabir said and started eating.

"Thanks, Kabir, for returning my love to me. Even if late, yes, I've got my love back, because of you," Aisha said. Kabir looked at her.

"Are you taunting me?" Kabir said.

"No, I just wanted to say that you didn't trust the friend you've known since childhood, and you trusted what was shown to you. I'm not saying it was a lie, it was all true, but what was shown in it and the way it was shown was wrong," Aisha said.

    "Enough, Aisha," Ram said.

"Enough, Ram, I just spoke because I had questions in my mind. I have no complaint with Kabir, but yes, he should have looked back at you once, but he didn't. Six months is a long time," Aisha said.

Just then, Kabir got up from his seat. "Kabir, she's just used to talking. You eat," Ram said.

"I will eat, I will eat sitting with you. But now I need to clear everything up, then we'll eat food after that," Kabir said and left from there. Ram smiled looking at him go.

Kabir walked towards his flat just as he was. Aisha's words were swirling in his mind. In all this, he reached his flat. Standing at the door, he looked at the time on the watch on his wrist. It was ten o'clock.

He opened the door quietly. He had come to talk to Sakshi today. Whatever she had done. Somewhere, he was hurt by Sakshi's behavior, but whatever it was, he had to talk. So, he opened the door and walked inside, but as soon as he stepped inside, his eyes widened in surprise.

    May God protect us.

He just opened the door and walked in, but as soon as he stepped inside, his eyes widened in surprise.

Jas had reached Aashiana with his sister. It was her first time in Mumbai, but she had heard a lot about it from Jas, so Ajit knew a little about her.

At this time, Jas was sitting quietly on the sofa, and his sister, wearing a white Patiala suit, was shouting at him. Jas had put his fingers in both ears so that he wouldn't have to hear his sister's words, and could tolerate her shouting.

But his sister was not listening, and standing over his head, she was scolding him. Ajit, who had been watching them both for a long time, got up and went to the kitchen. After a while, he came back with a bottle of cold water and offered it to Jas's sister. She looked at him.

"Your anger has gone to your head. Drink some cold water, calm down, and take a few deep breaths to fix your reddened nose," Ajit said.

She looked at him. Meanwhile, when Jas heard no noise, he looked up and saw his sister Diljit staring intently at Ajit.

"Here, take some water," Ajit said. She took the bottle of water, opened it, and looked at Jas.

"Your friend is better than you, Veer. He at least asked me for water. You arrived two hours late, and on top of it, you kept your phone off. Well, that's fine, but you didn't even ask me if I wanted to eat on the way. May God not give anyone a brother like you," Diljit said as she sat down and started drinking water.

Ajit stared at her with his mouth open. Jas glared at him. "Hey, close your mouth," he said. Ajit quietly sat down.

"He was busy with work, forgive him now," Jas said, coming and sitting near Diljit.

Diljit turned her face and looked at Ajit. "My name is Diljit, and I am your useless friend's younger sister," she said.

Ajit was still looking at her in surprise. "My name is Ajit," Ajit said.

Jas sat between them, looking at both of them.

"Talk to me, not him," he said, looking at Diljit.

Diljit glared at him. "Now you're missing your elder sister. Where were you when I was sitting among strangers?" Diljit said, leaning forward and looking at Ajit. "Do you know if there's any food corner nearby? I'm very hungry," she said.

Ajit looked at Jas, who was watching him. Then a smile appeared on his face.

"Yes, yes, of course. Come, I'll take you now," he said.

Diljit got up quickly, and Ajit said goodbye to Jas and left. Diljit deliberately walked closer to Ajit.

Jas looked at both of them and said, "Wait." He grabbed Diljit's hand, pulled her to the other side, and stood between them.

"Walk away from him," he said to Diljit.

"And you, maintain a distance of four feet, understand?" he said, looking at Ajit.

Ajit nodded in agreement. Then Jas took them both outside.

As soon as Kabir entered, his surprise knew no bounds. The scene in front of him was a mess. There were stains everywhere, as if of blood. From one room, a very faint sound of someone crying could be heard.

Kabir quickly moved towards that room. The entire room was in disarray, and Sakshi was sitting in the middle of the bed, huddled in herself. As he moved forward, something touched his foot. Kabir looked down and was shocked. The entire floor was covered with rats, which were scurrying around.

Kabir's eyes widened. He quickly moved forward and cupped Sakshi's face in his hands, pulling it up. Sakshi started swinging her hands to hit him, and something pricked him. He looked at his hand, and it started bleeding. Sakshi had a knife in her hand.

When Sakshi saw Kabir in front of her, she hugged him and started crying. Kabir let go of his hand and started fixing Sakshi's hair, which looked like a bird's nest at that moment.

"What happened, and what is all this?" Kabir said, looking at Sakshi's face, which had injury marks. But the next moment, he smelled something strange.

"I don't know. I was sleeping when so many rats came into my room. Look, they bit me too," Sakshi said, showing her face to Kabir.

"You drank again today, didn't you?" Kabir said.

"No, Kabir, I didn't drink today," Sakshi said.

"You smell of it. You've been drinking, and you always do this after drinking. It's another thing that today you've ruined the entire flat," Kabir said, moving away from her.

"No, Kabir, believe me," Sakshi said, stepping forward.

"Alright, then tell me, who else could have come here besides you? It's you who lives here, right? So who else came who could do this to you?" Kabir said and then made a phone call.

Sakshi looked at him. "I'm telling the truth. Someone came here. Moreover, they offered me a drink. If you don't believe me, come outside and look. The bottle will still be there," Sakshi said, holding Kabir's hand.

Kabir pulled his hand away. "I'm coming from outside, and I've seen everything," Kabir said and came out.

Everything was broken everywhere. Sakshi followed him and was shocked to see it all. "Who did all this?" she asked.

Kabir looked at her. "Stop it, Sakshi. How much longer will you lie?" Kabir said, looking at her, and started picking up the scattered items.

Sakshi followed him, "Believe me, Kabir, I didn't do it. I just came to drink water, and then a masked person was sitting on this sofa. I got scared seeing him. He showed me his gun and told me to sit down and drink. Look, the bottle will be here," Sakshi said, pointing towards the table and looking, then fell silent. There was nothing on the table. What table, there was no such thing as a bottle.

"Stop it, Sakshi. Inside you were saying you were sleeping, and now you're saying you came to drink water. First, decide what you want to say," Kabir said.

"No, I just came to drink water," Sakshi said and then sat down on the sofa.

"Believe me, I didn't drink it myself," she said. Kabir didn't say anything; he was just picking up the things.

"Why don't you believe me? I just came to drink water. Moreover, someone was here who made me drink alcohol," Sakshi shouted at Kabir.

Kabir looked at her. "Enough of this anger. What do you think you're doing? Just because I didn't say anything at the office today doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. What you did at the office is inexcusable," Kabir said angrily.

Sakshi flinched. He had never spoken to her like this before. Sakshi remained silent for a moment, then looked at Kabir.

"So now you're shouting at me, getting angry, and that too for that girl. Mehr, that's her name, isn't it? You have so much affection for her burning," Sakshi said angrily. Kabir heard her and looked at her.

"You think that of me? Just yesterday, you were pleading with me about our eight-year relationship. Where did that love go? Is it all over in a single moment?" Kabir said.

Sakshi, still angry, said, "Because before that, you never went near anyone else besides me. What is it about that girl that you're taking her side?" Sakshi said.

Kabir looked at her as if he had never seen her before. He turned away from her and walked towards the kitchen.

"Oh, now I understand. So you had a one-night stand with that girl," Sakshi said, and Kabir's steps stopped. He looked at her disbelievingly.

"Is that right?" Sakshi said, coming closer to him. Wrinkles appeared on Kabir's forehead.

"Where did that girl touch you? Here, here, or here?" Sakshi said, touching Kabir's face. Kabir just watched her.

"Oh, so she touched you here," Sakshi said, looking at Kabir's lips, and started to move forward. Just then, a loud noise echoed, and Sakshi fell to the ground.

"I thought, Sakshi, that we knew each other, but no, today it feels like I never knew you. You think all this about me, and only because you saw me with Mehr's sister?" Kabir said, sitting down next to Sakshi.

"Alright, fine. I came here to talk to you, to clear up this misunderstanding between us, but you want to remain in that misunderstanding. So stay, but from today onwards, don't come in front of me again. Otherwise, I don't know what I might do, so stay away from me. Understand?" Kabir said and started to leave, then stopped.

"Come on time tomorrow. AK News Channel is not your father's news channel, understand?" Kabir said and, as he left, punched the wall so hard that a picture fell down.

Sakshi, who was already lying on the floor, watched Kabir leave and said, "I will definitely take revenge for this insult," and went into the room to make a phone call.

On the wall of the same hall, a very faint red light was blinking.

"First pawn out for now," a person sitting in a dark room said, looking at the large screen in front of him. Sakshi's picture was visible on it, talking on the phone to someone.

The entire room was dark, except for that screen. Only the person's voice echoed in the room.

"Veer, isn't that the girl you were telling me about, who falls from the swing every morning at eight o'clock?" Diljit said to Jas. At this time, both siblings were standing on the balcony, looking ahead.

"Yes, it's that girl, but why is it dark there today?" Jas said.

"She won't know that my Veer watches her fall. Never mind, she'll fall in the morning when the sun god appears. It's twelve o'clock, let's go to sleep. Tell me where I should sleep too," Diljit said and walked inside.

Jas made a face, and Ajit, who was listening to them both, held his stomach and laughed. "Man, I have to say, Diljit silences everyone, no matter who they are," he said.

Jas smiled and said, "That's right. She scolds like a mother, explains like a father, fights like a sister. I see my whole family in her, so I obey her every word."

"You're lucky you have a family. I don't even remember their faces anymore," Ajit said, looking ahead.

Jas put his hand on his shoulder. "I'm here, aren't I?" he said, and Ajit hugged him.

"Yes, you are, Kabir is, Daddu is," he said.

"Yes, Daddu is," Jas said. Diljit was watching them both. And then she quietly walked away.

"This is Dadu," Jas said. Diljeet looked at both of them. And then quietly left.

Kabir came out of his flat and stood in the garden below, looking at the flat.

"Son, listen to me, there's nothing wrong, and this decision is your grandfather's. We can't say no to him."

"No, Mother, I don't want to join the army. There are many other ways to serve the country, but not the army," Kabir said.

Kabir's mother touched his face and said, "Look, son, your grandfather and father are all in the army, so why can't you? Your sister tried so many times herself, but it wasn't her fate."

"No, Mother, I don't want to join the army. Dadu was a soldier, fine. Father becoming a soldier was also fine. But what did you get? A lifetime of loneliness. I lost him when I was five years old. Hasan hasn't even seen his face; she only sees him in photos. Learn from me what it means to grow up before your time. I also wished to go out with my father and talk to him, but he was never with us. And when he came to me, he was in a coffin. No, Mother, I don't want to be a soldier. What has it given us in the end?" Suddenly, a loud slap landed on Kabir's face.

Kabir's grandfather stood in front of him, a man of imposing stature. "Enough of your nonsense. If you don't want to go, don't. Go do whatever you want, but remember one thing: we are Ahluwalias. First, we think about our country, then our family, then wife and children. Understand? But what would you understand? Someone who only loves himself, how can he love anyone else? You want to go abroad, right? Then go. I won't stop you. But if you ever bring any girl into this house, no one will be worse than me. Get out of my sight." Dadu said.

Kabir kept listening to him with downcast eyes, bowed, and touched his feet. His mother watched with tearful eyes, but Kabir didn't stop. He took his bag and left the house.

Kabir was lost in his own thoughts. He came to his senses when a volleyball hit his feet. Kabir looked and saw some boys on one side asking to throw the ball. Kabir threw the ball towards them and got into his car and drove away.

Ten years. Ten years ago, Kabir had left his home and went to his sister's wedding just last month. Everyone was happy to see him. Dadu had also ended his displeasure. But no one asked Kabir what he did. They all thought Kabir still lived outside. Kabir didn't bother to tell them and let things continue as they were.

Today, he missed Dadu the most. He wished he could talk to his grandfather once. In childhood, when he didn't understand anything, his Dadu would show him the right path. But Kabir was so entangled in himself that he didn't know what to say on the phone – that the one he loved had left him today, and Dadu's condition was that if he brought a girl home, the doors of that house would be closed forever.

After thinking for a while, a smile appeared on Kabir's face. "They speak the truth, elders know where their offspring roam," Kabir said and turned the car towards Aashiyana.

    The next morning

At precisely eight o'clock, Jas, Ajit, and Diljeet stood on their balcony, looking ahead. Diljeet had set a special alarm. Just then, the girl on the other side fell.

"See, Dil, didn't I tell you she would fall at exactly eight o'clock?" Jas said happily.

Ajit looked ahead. "It seems the poor thing is more hurt today; she hasn't gotten up."

Diljeet looked at Ajit. "Oh, what concern you have for her! Shall I go and ask?" she said.

Ajit looked at her, surprised, and quickly left.

Diljeet laughed, looking at Jas. "Is this specimen for me, Veer?" she said.

Jas looked at her. "He's a good boy. If you like someone else, tell me. Otherwise, I haven't found anyone better," Jas said, placing his hand on Diljeet's head. Diljeet smiled and went inside.

Mehr came out again, covered up. The guard standing at the gate looked at her. Mehr walked up to him. "If I slap you, these two eyes of yours will pop out. What do you think of yourself? Why are you staring like that?"

The guard heard Mehr and said, "What, Didi? If you come changing your appearance every day, how will we recognize that you are the same outspoken person?" the guard said, carried away by the moment.

Mehr, with only her eyes visible, glared at him. "Your mother's eye, you called me outspoken. I'll get you fired right now," Mehr said angrily and took out her phone to make a call.

The unfortunate guard pleaded, "What, Didi, why are you doing this? You've already gotten me fired twice before. If a complaint goes this time, I'll truly be fired, and what will happen to my parents?" the guard said, falling at Mehr's feet.

Mehr looked at him, took the phone away from her ear, and said, "Fine, then you have to do one thing for me, understand?" The guard nodded yes.

Mehr looked around and then at the guard. "There lives an old man named Kabir here." The guard looked at her, surprised.

"Didi, if he's an old man, then you..." The guard was about to speak when Mehr stomped hard on his foot. The poor guard said, "I was just confirming."

"If you're done, then listen. I need complete information about that old man's comings and goings. What time he leaves in the morning and what time he returns in the evening," Mehr said, and the guard nodded yes.

"Good boy," Mehr said and walked out. The guard looked up at the sky and said, pointing towards Mehr, "God, is it necessary to see her?"

"Good boy," Mehr said and walked out.

The guard looked up at the sky and said, "God, is it necessary to see him?" pointing towards Mehr.

Mehr stopped at Chhotu's shop on the way and gave him the box of sweets. "Happy now?" Mehr asked, and Chhotu nodded.

"Okay, I'm leaving now," Mehr said and told the cab driver to start the car. Chhotu started eating his gulab jamun from the box.

Mehr went to the tenth floor first, swiped her card, and then went to the archive floor. She started all the work anew and gathered all the data. Suddenly, her eyes fell on a paper written about a car accident.

Mehr picked up the paper very carefully and started stroking it as if it were very special to her. Mehr folded the paper and took it with her.

When Mehr returned to the tenth floor, everyone was busy with their work. Mehr went straight to Kabir's room. She knocked on the door, and a voice said, "Come in." Mehr entered and placed all the data in front of Kabir. Kabir, who was engrossed in his laptop, looked up sharply. Mehr was dusting her hands.

"It's done, sir, your work is done," Mehr said.

Kabir looked at her and said, "You've come today."

"Yes, I have, that's why you can see me," Mehr replied.

Kabir looked at her and said, "So, you could have rested today."

Mehr looked at him in surprise. "Rest? For what occasion?" she asked.

Kabir stood up from his place. "For whatever happened yesterday," Kabir said.

"Oh, for that, but I'm fine now," Mehr said. Kabir was looking at her in surprise. "But your hand is very red," Kabir said.

Mehr laughed. "All this keeps happening, but tell your 'chamkchhallo' not to mess with me. I let it go once, but I don't have that big a heart," Mehr said. Kabir looked at her, "Chamkchhallo?" he said in surprise.

"Tell your what's-her-name, Sakshi," Mehr said.

Kabir glared at her. "So, you can take her name directly, can't you?" he asked.

"She directly injured me, and it was a misunderstanding between you two. Why did she drag me into it for no reason? That crazy girl," Mehr said, shaking her head. She started to leave, then stopped. She looked at Kabir and walked out.

Kabir kept watching her. "She's crazy herself and called me crazy before leaving," he said, hitting the table in anger, and then started looking at the data. He looked at each paper one by one, when his eyes fell on a paper lying nearby, which was folded differently.

Kabir picked it up. He was about to open it and look when his phone rang. Kabir picked up the phone and walked out talking.

Jas had made the call. It was time for Sakshi's news. She had arrived, but she was messing everything up. Meanwhile, Mehr, D Natasha, and Ajit were standing in the studio watching her, as she was getting her makeup done repeatedly.

Suddenly, Kabir entered the room and saw Sakshi. "Hurry up," he said. But it was as if she was unaffected. Kabir kept looking at her, but Sakshi said nothing.

Kabir gestured to Ajit, and Ajit said something to Jas. Immediately, the sound of the news starting was heard, and the camera focused on Sakshi. Kabir was watching her, and Sakshi started her work.

Fifteen minutes later, her work was finished, and she got up and came to Kabir. Natasha D and Mehr, standing to the side, were watching her. "Jalkukudi," Mehr said softly.

Kabir was looking at her. "You can't remove me from here. You know that much," Sakshi said.

"Absolutely not, you have a contract here," Kabir replied, and Sakshi glanced at Mehr as if telling her that she was the one.

Mehr looked at her and said, "Babe, if you mess with me again, you're done for," she said to herself, still looking at Sakshi.

"But if you think of wasting my time again, I can do anything," Kabir said, looking at her. Everyone present was surprised to hear Kabir's words, especially Ajit. Ajit's jaw dropped.

Sakshi looked at him. "Kabir, do you know what you're saying? We love each other," Sakshi said, holding his hand. Kabir looked at the hand Sakshi was holding. Then he looked at Sakshi.

"Last night, you showed me how much you love me," Kabir said, and removing Sakshi's hand, he turned around and saw Mehr, who was glaring at Sakshi.

"What are you doing here?" Kabir asked Mehr.

"What will I do? I found out that Chamkchhallo has arrived, so I came here because you come here after her," Mehr mumbled to herself.

D covered his mouth. "Here goes another naming ceremony," he said softly.

Natasha, trying to suppress her laughter, said, "Actually, Mehr has given her a perfect name." Ajit, who was standing behind both of them.

"Is Mehr from Earth?" he asked, and both looked at him in surprise.

"I'm not a ghost, so why are you scared?" Ajit said to them and looked ahead. Kabir, hearing Mehr's words, glared at her. "What does it matter to you where I come and where I go?" Kabir asked.

"Sir, you hired me for your work, so I thought I'd come before you," Mehr said.

Kabir pointed a finger at her. "There's no need to talk too much. Don't forget I'm your boss," Kabir said.

Mehr looked at him. "When do you let me forget? And it's better if you don't show that finger," Mehr said, pointing towards his finger.

"What will you do?" Kabir asked, still holding his finger out towards Mehr.

"Alright then," saying this, Mehr bit his finger. Everyone's mouth fell open in surprise. Sakshi just kept watching. She thought Kabir would pay attention to her, but something else was happening here.

Sakshi just kept watching. She thought Kabir would pay attention to her, but something else was happening here.

"Ahhhh, you crazy girl," Kabir said, holding his finger. Meher had really bitten hard.

Meher looked at him and said, "I'm not crazy, you are. I told you not to show your finger, but you insisted on poking."

"Bring me a black coffee and come to the cabin," Kabir said angrily.

Meher glared at him and left. "The show is over for today. Now all of you get back to your work," Kabir said, looking at everyone. So everyone left the room, except Natasha, who had work to do next.

Kabir was about to leave, shaking his hand, when Sakshi grabbed his hand. "Kabir, what are you doing? You're humiliating yourself in front of everyone, and that too by a girl who came yesterday," Sakshi said.

Kabir looked at her fiercely and said, "Whatever she is, she speaks to my face, in front of everyone, not like you."

"Like me? What did I do?" Sakshi asked.

"Do you really think you didn't do anything?" Kabir said, looking at her.

"What if her face had gotten burned yesterday? Do you even know how old she is? She's twenty-two. What were you like at that age? No, Sakshi, you're not understanding. I admit I made a mistake, but you escalated the issue unnecessarily."

Sakshi looked at Kabir and said, "Are you still talking about her? Kabir, don't you understand that she's only been here since yesterday and what hasn't she done?" And, "She still misbehaved with you in front of everyone," Sakshi said, looking at Kabir's hand.

"Whatever she did, she did it in front of me, not behind my back," Kabir said and walked out.

Sakshi followed him and said, "What happened behind my back?"

By then, Kabir had reached his cabin. Sakshi came to him. Kabir put the laptop in front of her. A video was playing on it, in which a boy was sitting at a system, doing something. Then he made a call, "Sakshi ma'am, about the girl you're talking about, there's no record of anyone here."

Kabir was watching Sakshi, whose expression was changing.

Kabir made a call, and soon a boy came in. This was the same boy who was visible on the laptop screen. Sakshi kept staring at him.

"Tell me what you want to say, for the last time," Kabir said to him.

"Sir, yesterday night around 10:30 PM, ma'am called," the boy said, pointing towards Sakshi. "She was asking for information about the new girl Meher who has joined here. Where she is from, where she lives, everything."

"Okay, talk to HR. Your work is done. You are free," Kabir said. The boy bowed his head and left, saying, "Sorry sir."

Kabir looked at Sakshi. "Why did you want Meher's address? Can you tell me?" Kabir said. Sakshi looked at him silently.

"I'll tell you. You wanted to go to her house and scare her, threaten her, or tell her parents something that would make them keep her at home, right? Am I telling the truth? Is that it?" Kabir said.

"I was very angry at that time," Sakshi said.

"Don't you know how angry I get, Sakshi? We've lived together," Kabir said, looking at her.

Sakshi remained silent. She knew how bad Kabir's anger was, so she always kept herself calm.

"I've forgiven your mistakes every time, but not anymore."

"So it's best that you do what you came here for. Mind your own business. For once, I thought about you, but no, not anymore. I don't have to think about this at all," Kabir said. Sakshi quietly walked out.

Kabir started looking at the screen again. The boy was sitting at the system.

At night, as soon as Kabir turned the car towards Aashiyana, he received a message on his phone. Kabir quickly checked the message and then directed the car towards his channel and, along with the security, had the boy apprehended.

Actually, the system was such that when anyone accessed it, a message would be sent to Kabir's phone. Mostly, only those three operated the system. If someone occasionally needed it, they would inform Kabir before working on that system.

Kabir was sitting, twirling a pen in his fingers. Meher came in. "Sir, your coffee," she said and placed it on the table. Kabir looked at her and sat up straight.

"If you talk to me disrespectfully again, I will throw you out," Kabir said.

    "Really?" Meher said.

    Kabir glared at her.

"You mean you'll throw me out? You mean I'll be fired from this place?" Meher said happily. Kabir kept looking at her.

"What I'll do is, I'll do the opposite now, then you'll throw me out and I'll get freedom. Yayyy!" saying this, Meher's hand touched the coffee cup, and it spilled on the table.

Not just the table, it spilled on Kabir's laptop. Kabir stared at Meher in shock. Meher started to leave. "Where are you going?" Kabir asked.

"I'll leave on my own. You don't need to trouble yourself," Meher said.

Kabir got up, came to her, and grabbed her arm. "I said I would throw you out, so I will," Kabir said, taking her to the side where there was a glass wall showing the view outside.

Then he opened a mirror and, pushing Meher forward, said, "I said I would throw you from here." Meher's eyes widened.

    Rabb Rakha.

"I was talking about throwing you from here," Kabir said. Mehr's eyes widened.

"No, no, no, not from here, not from here, if you throw me from here, my hands, feet, nose, mouth will all break, no, don't throw me from here. Let's do this, let's go down by lift and from there onto the road. You throw me there, but don't throw me from here. Who knows, even if I survive after breaking my hands and feet, how will I live?" Mehr said.

Kabir looked at her, stunned. What is this girl? She talks so much.

"Silence, complete silence. If another word comes out of your mouth, I'll throw you right now," Kabir said.

Mehr quickly put her finger to her lips. Kabir, still holding her, moved her aside and closed the mirror. Mehr was still standing there.

Kabir returned to his table, picked up his laptop, and saw coffee spilling out of it. He glanced at Mehr, who was staring at him.

"Now you will get this fixed, understood?" Kabir said, handing the laptop to Mehr. "And yes, you will clean this mess, and then bring me the coffee I like. To Ajit's cabin, understood?"

Mehr nodded, her finger still on her lips. Kabir looked at her and left the room. Mehr took a deep breath.

"Old man, where are you from, how much you scare me. But I'm not afraid of anyone's father, so what is this?" Mehr said and turned, only to see Kabir standing behind her. She screamed.

Kabir looked at her and said, "Did you see a ghost that you're screaming?"

"Not much less than that," Mehr said softly.

"Come again?" Kabir said. Mehr showed him her teeth and said, "I was just asking, since you've given me so much work, tell me, where are the cleaning supplies kept?"

Kabir looked at her and said, "Do you think I come here to do all this?"

"Well, I'm a reporter too. I've never done any of this work," Mehr said, with respect towards Kabir.

A smile appeared on Kabir's face. He walked towards Mehr and said, "Miss Mehr Shergill, you know, a reporter and you. You crack good jokes."

Mehr, who was watching him, said, "You could have said that even from behind."

"Absolutely, but I thought you might not hear, so I came forward. I need my laptop by tomorrow, and yes, my coffee too," Kabir said.

"Coffee will be available, but this laptop won't be ready by tomorrow. It will take at least two days," Mehr said. Kabir looked at her and said, "Fine, then get me a new laptop."

"Hahahaha, aren't you ashamed to ask a girl for a laptop?" Mehr said.

"Hahahaha, so why did a girl deliberately spill coffee on my laptop?" Kabir said, mimicking her.

Mehr stared at him. "Now stop glaring and clean this up and bring the coffee," Kabir said and left.

As soon as Kabir left, Mehr stamped her foot and walked out.

"Big shot, ordering me around, what does he think of himself? Is he some king? No, he thinks he's the owner of this channel and I'm a servant. But it seems he doesn't understand who I am. I am Mehr too. I will settle all scores," Mehr was saying while cleaning the cabin. DJ, who was sitting there, was listening to Mehr's non-stop talk and laughing.

"Hey Devdas, I'm leaving the fan on. If anyone comes, don't let them in, it's still wet," Mehr said to DJ and walked out. DJ nodded.

"Oh no, my phone is still there," Mehr said, washing her hands in the bathroom, and quickly headed towards Kabir's cabin.

She was walking lost in thought when she heard a voice. She had reached near Kabir's cabin, so she looked inside. She was stunned by what she saw.

Jas was lying on the floor. "Damn it, my work is ruined," Mehr said.

Jas looked at her. "Couldn't you have come a little later? I just mopped here, and you've made a mess of everything," Mehr said.

Jas, holding his back and with his mouth open, kept looking at Mehr. "Are you planning to sit there? Get up, the wet floor under you will dry too," Mehr said, entering, and picking up her phone.

Jas thought Mehr had come to pick him up, so he extended his hand, but upon hearing Mehr's words, he pulled his hand back.

"Come on, give me your hand. I'll lift you up," Mehr said, putting her phone aside and extending her hand towards Jas. Jas took her hand and stood up. Mehr started looking at her phone again. Jas was staring at her in surprise.

There was a vast difference between Jas and Mehr, but still, Mehr easily took Jas's hand and helped him up, without even moving an inch from her spot. Otherwise, anyone else would have fallen on Jas.

"Kabir sir is in Ajit sir's cabin. You can go and talk to him there. If you want tea or coffee, tell me, I'm going to make some, so I'll bring it along," Mehr said, looking at Jas.

Jas nodded. Mehr left from there. "What is this?" Jas said, watching her leave, and then he too walked out.

Just then, a girl came running and almost collided with Jas. "What happened? Where are you going?" Jas said, seeing her in such a hurry.

"Sir, Natasha, Natasha fell," she said.

Hearing her, Jas walked towards her and said, "How and where?"

"Sir, Natasha's foot got caught in a wire. As she fell, a camera fell on her, injuring her."

Jas quickened his pace towards her. When he reached, he saw that Natasha was indeed badly injured, her clothes soaked with blood. The injury was on her shoulder, and she was bleeding profusely.

    May God protect her.

His clothes were soaked in blood, and he had a shoulder injury that was bleeding profusely. Jas arrived and saw Natasha, who was almost unconscious.

"Hey, wake up," he said, and Natasha opened her eyes.

By then, Kabir, Ajit, and Mehr had also arrived and were looking at Natasha.

As soon as Mehr saw Natasha, she sat down beside her and began to remove the coat Natasha was wearing, which she had put on for work.

"Are you crazy?" Kabir asked Mehr.

"I know what I'm doing, just stay away," she replied.

Another girl helped Mehr, and they removed Natasha's coat and placed it aside. When they looked at Natasha's shoulder, they saw a deep wound.

Mehr gently pulled on the top, and Natasha's pain increased. Blood started flowing again, and Mehr looked around but couldn't find anything to stop it. She used her dupatta to tie a bandage around Natasha's shoulder.

"We should go to the hospital now," Mehr said. By then, the doctor had arrived; Kabir had called him immediately. There was a small hospital on the fifth floor of the same building, specifically for that building.

The doctor examined Natasha, looked at her wound, and stitched it. He administered some medication and an injection, then turned to Kabir.

"You did well not to let the fabric stick to the wound. Perhaps the object that caused the injury was hot," the doctor said.

Mehr stood with her hands clasped together. Kabir thanked her, and the doctor left. Natasha, who had been lifted and placed on the sofa, seemed to have fallen asleep due to the injection. Everything was quiet for a while.

Kabir looked at the camera that had fallen; it could have been hot. There was no doubt about it, but how did it fall? From a wire, perhaps? Kabir was still thinking.

His attention shifted to Mehr, who was standing with her hands clasped together. When Kabir looked at her carefully, he noticed that she was holding her hands tightly. His gaze seemed to freeze on those hands.

Ajit's voice broke the silence. "Has Jas taken Natasha to the room? Is everything okay?" "Absolutely," Kabir replied.

Everyone got back to their tasks. Mehr went to make coffee again. Jas had laid Natasha on the bed and removed her shoes, covering her with a sheet.

This room belonged to Kabir; he had specially designed it and often stayed here.

Jas was watching Natasha carefully when his phone rang. He looked at the caller ID and saw Dil's name. He glanced at Natasha, then stepped outside to talk to Dil.

As evening fell, Natasha regained consciousness, called her brother, and left with him.

Everyone had left except for some team members whose shift was still on. Mehr went to her locker to pick up her belongings. Lockers were available for everyone to store their items.

Mehr took her purse and headed to Kabir's cabin to retrieve her laptop. When she entered, she didn't find Kabir, but she took the laptop anyway. Her eyes fell on a folded paper, and she quickly picked it up.

She looked different at that moment, and her expression was filled with love as she gently touched the picture on the paper. She then took the laptop with her and left.

Meanwhile, Kabir was sitting in Ajit's room, watching everything on his laptop.

Actually, when he had lifted Mehr and seated her on the chair yesterday, he had closely observed her trembling body. And after what happened to Natasha today, he had seen Mehr's reaction.

The newspaper he had received that morning had a news item that made his eyes uneasy. That's why he had deliberately left the paper near the laptop.

"Mehr Shergill, who came to Mumbai from Punjab a year ago... How does she know the Mahra family, who have been gone for two years?" he thought to himself.

"Two days have passed, but I can sense that you're hiding something," Kabir said.

Kabir Ahluwalia could tell a lot about someone just by looking at them. In college, everyone used to talk about this. Kabir didn't believe in having many friends, but if someone crossed his path, his eyes alone could scare them off.

For a long time, Kabir had maintained himself, but this time, he was deceived - first, in recognizing Sakshi, and second, in seeing Mehr.

Now, he was convinced that there was something about this girl.

"Mehr," Kabir called out, and when he looked at the screen, he was taken aback.

    God protect her.

Then he started hearing voices, "Meher", Kabir said and looked towards the screen and was stunned.

On the screen, Meher was visible, cleaning his cabin and praising him. Then she said something to D and left. At the same time, D received a call and he also left. Kabir, who was angry listening to Meher's words, was about to close the laptop when Jas was seen entering the cabin, and after that, everything that happened between Jas and Meher. Kabir shook his head.

"What have I done to her that she talks to me like this? She speaks to my face, but gossips behind my back," Kabir said. He closed the laptop, got up, and left for home.

"Hey, tell me, has that old man returned or not?" Meher said, stopping her scooter at some distance from Ashiyana and speaking on the phone to the guard.

"No, Didi, that old man, meaning Kabir Sir, has not returned," the guard replied.

Meher cut the call and quickly sped up her scooter, parking it directly below her flat. She took all her belongings out of the scooter and hurried towards her room. As soon as she opened the door, Meher sighed and closed the door, then sat on the sofa.

"Baba Ji, please keep saving me like this every day from that arrogant shop," Meher said and then after thinking for a moment, "No, no, not an arrogant shop, that's too much, old man is fine Meher," she said, putting her bag aside and walking towards the kitchen. She took out Maggi and started making it, simultaneously playing songs by her favorite Punjabi singer, Amrinder Gill, on her phone... she always listened to them.

When Kabir returned, he saw the guard smiling at him. Kabir glared at him, and his smile disappeared. Kabir drove his car towards Jas's flat. He hadn't come here yesterday; when he returned to the channel at night, he had stayed there.

Kabir, Jas, and Ajit all had keys to the flat. So Kabir opened the flat door with the key and entered. Upon entering, he was surprised. A wonderful aroma of food was coming from inside. And he was looking at the scene before him. The entire hall was beautifully set, everything was in its place.

After thinking for a moment, Kabir stepped forward and was surprised to see a girl with her back towards him.

Then the girl turned around and, seeing Kabir in front of her, started looking at him. "Kabeer Bhai," she said. Kabir was staring at her in surprise.

"I am Diljit, Jas Veer's sister," she said quickly. Then Kabir remembered that Jas's sister was supposed to come yesterday. Kabir smiled and kept looking at her.

"So, you are Jas's sister, the one he always talks about," Kabir said.

"Yes," Diljit replied. Kabir then came and sat on the sofa. Diljit brought him water. Taking the glass, Kabir said, "Has Jas not come yet?"

"No, they both came earlier, but they are not at home right now," Diljit replied. Kabir, who was drinking water and looking at her, handed the glass back to Diljit and asked where they were.

"So Diljit sat down next to him. Look, Veer, I made food with so much love for them, meaning for you too. I didn't know you were coming earlier, but since you are here, you can also eat," Diljit said. Kabir looked at her in surprise.

"Now that I have made food with so much effort, it's their duty to eat it," Diljit said to Kabir, and Kabir didn't know what to say, so he nodded.

Diljit placed the glass in her hand on the table and said, "Exactly, but these two came back after eating fast food from outside. I brought all the groceries in this heat, then worked hard to cook, so it's natural and justified to be angry," Diljit said and sat down.

At that moment, Kabir saw only Meher in her. He didn't know why, but he felt that Diljit had done something similar. So, gathering courage, he asked Diljit, "So what did you do?" Kabir said.

Diljit looked at him and smiled, "I told them to run in the park downstairs. And yes, I'm keeping a close eye on them," Diljit said.

Kabir looked at her in surprise, "Eye?" he said.

Diljit happily replied, "There are children in the park downstairs. I told them if these uncles stop for even a minute, call me. And also, that Mishra Ji, you know, on the other side of the park from here," Diljit said, and Kabir nodded.

"Yes, that's right. His dog Jack is very dangerous. I've set him after both of them. He's been making them exercise for the last half hour," Diljit said happily. Kabir's jaw dropped upon hearing her.

"I, I'll be right back," Kabir said, ran out of the flat, and went downstairs. Here, Jas and Ajit were running in the park.

Jas and Ajit were in bad shape. Kabir looked at them in surprise, "Scoundrels, get away from there!" Kabir said. Seeing Kabir, Jas said, "Thank God you're here. Now remove this Jack from here."

"Hurry up, Kabir. If he stays here for another five minutes, I'll definitely go to hell," Ajit said. Kabir looked at both of them and said, "You fools, Jack isn't even behind you."

Upon hearing Kabir's words, both of them stopped abruptly and looked behind. Jack wasn't actually there. When they looked around, Jack himself was panting and sat down to one side. Ajit lay down in the park right there.

"No brother, I can't walk anymore," he said. Kabir, who was looking at both of them, said, "Run towards the flat, brother, Jack is coming."

Then what was there to say? Ajit and Jas ran towards the flat as if their lives depended on it. Kabir, watching them, started laughing heartily.
