All the groups' performances were over. The last group, 'Maa Tujhe Salaam', performed with great energy, and the auditorium echoed with applause.
Then the host came onto the stage with the microphone and said with a smile,
"Friends, all the performances were amazing. The results will be announced in an hour. Until then, you can all go to the refreshment area outside."
The children slowly came down from the stage. Tara ran towards them. Tension and anxiety were clearly visible on the children's faces. Some were rubbing their hands, while others were quietly looking at the ground.
Tara gently smiled, placing her hands on their shoulders, and said,
"Oh children, why such tense faces? You all rocked the stage! Let's fill our stomachs before celebrating victory."
The children smiled a little and they all headed towards the refreshment zone. Tara walked with them, laughing and talking.
After a while, when everyone returned from eating, as Tara approached the auditorium, her gaze suddenly fell on a crowd in a corner. Some people had gathered there.
Her heart started pounding. Without saying anything, she stopped the children and quickly ran in that direction. Her breathing quickened.
As Tara returned inside the auditorium with the children, her eyes suddenly fell on a person standing in a corner—aiming a gun at an elderly woman.
Tara's eyes widened. Without a moment's hesitation, she stopped the children behind her and ran towards him.
"Stop!" her scream echoed throughout the hall, but then—a shot was fired. The sound was muffled, so no one even noticed.
Tara, running, pushed the woman—but it was too late. The bullet had already hit her left chest. She fell to the ground. Blood began to spread on her white dress.
Everyone was stunned by her action. For a few seconds, everything went silent, then suddenly chaos erupted.
The crowd rushed towards the elderly woman. Everyone panicked because if something happened to the woman, it could cause a major uproar.
Then the hall manager rushed over and, flustered, supported the woman.
"Mrs. Singhania! Are you alright?"
The woman nodded with a trembling voice, "I... I'm fine."
She was none other than Shaurya's grandmother, Karuna Singhania.
But as her gaze fell on Tara's unconscious body, drenched in blood, her face turned pale.
"Oh God... this girl saved my life... Someone take her to the hospital! Now!" Regret and concern were evident in her voice.
Some people from the crowd picked up Tara and quickly carried her out.
At that moment, Savita ji came running from the back of the hall. As soon as she saw the mark of injury on Karuna ji's forehead, she panicked.
"Maa ji! You've been injured quite badly. Come, let's take you to the hospital too... immediately."
Karuna ji just kept looking at Tara... her eyes reflecting regret, surprise, and a strange sense of familiarity...
There was a commotion in the crowd. No one could understand what had just happened. Then, as Tara was being carried out, Savita ji stepped forward angrily from behind.
There was concern and anger in her eyes. She looked around, then said in a loud and stern voice—
"Who did this? Tell me... who fired the shot?"
The entire hall seemed to freeze. Everyone stood rooted to their spots. No one dared to say anything.
(Savita ji was usually very calm and composed. But when it came to the safety of her family, it was difficult for her to control her anger. And once she got angry, it wasn't easy to appease her.)
Seeing her, from the manager to the rest of the staff, everyone was silently afraid. Then Karuna ji slowly came to her and, placing her hand on her shoulder, said in a calm voice—
"Savitra... nothing has happened to me. I'll tell you everything later... For now, let's go to the hospital."
As soon as Savita ji saw the blood flowing from Karuna ji's forehead, she forgot her anger. She panicked and immediately said—
"Maa! You're so badly injured... Let's go quickly... I forgot everything in my anger."
Karuna ji just gave a slight smile, but anxiety was evident on her face. She knew that what had happened was very serious. But she didn't want to tell Savita anything at the moment.
As they walked towards the car, she thought to herself—'I'll tell you everything in the car... not now.'
Savita ji was supporting Karuna ji as she led her out. As they left, she turned back and told the manager in a stern tone—
"The prize ceremony will be held tomorrow morning at 10 AM. Announce it now."
The manager immediately nodded and made an announcement over the microphone—
"All participants are requested that the prize ceremony will now be held tomorrow morning at 10 AM. Please be present on time."
Given the seriousness of the incident, people quietly dispersed to their homes, lost in worry.
On the other hand, the children from Tara's dance group, standing in a corner of the auditorium, were extremely scared. Some younger children were crying, while others stood holding each other's hands, frightened.
Then a 22-year-old girl arrived—her gait was quick and her eyes held concern.
"Oh children, what happened? Why are you all crying?" she asked, kneeling down to the children.
One of the slightly older girls among them said in a choked voice—
"Tara didi was shot... a lot of blood was flowing from her..."
The girl was stunned. Her face turned pale.
"What! What did you say? Shot... How? Who shot her?"
Then another girl, Meeta, who was calmer than the other children, came forward and said—
"Mrs. Singhania was about to be shot. Tara didi saved her... and got shot herself..."
The girl's eyes welled up. She hugged the children.
"Oh Tara... you saved someone's life again..." she murmured.
The girl lovingly reassured the children, saying,
"This girl... always gets into trouble while helping everyone..."
Then, looking at the children, she said in a gentle voice—
"You all go home with your parents now. I'm going to Tara."
The children insisted—
"But didi... we want to go to Tara didi too..."
The girl said, a bit sternly but lovingly—
"No children, not now. I'll let you meet her later... but for now, you all go home."
The children looked crestfallen, but they listened and slowly left.
The girl, after asking the manager for the hospital's name, quickly headed towards S.S. Hospital.
A short while later, upon reaching the hospital reception, the girl asks—
"A patient arrived a little while ago... a gunshot case... can you tell me where they are?"
The receptionist checked the computer and said—
"Ma'am, two patients arrived a short while ago. Who are you asking about?"
The girl immediately replied—
"The one who was shot."
The receptionist immediately said—
"They are in surgery. You can go to the OT section on the third floor."
The girl ran towards the elevator without wasting any time. As soon as the elevator reached the third floor, she quickly stepped out and started heading towards the OT.
But... after just a few steps, her steps halted. She stood there, looking towards the OT... a strange expression appeared in her eyes—pain... confusion... and perhaps an old memory.
And here we conclude today's story.
So, what do you all think—
Who is this girl?
Why did her steps stop when she reached the OT door?
What is her relationship with Tara?
Stay with me to find out... and with my story.
A short while later, the girl reached the hospital. She hurried towards the reception and asked in a panicked voice,
"A patient arrived a little while ago... a gunshot case... Please, can you tell me where they are?"
The receptionist replied, looking at the computer,
"Madam, two patients have arrived. Who are you asking about?"
The girl immediately said,
"The one who was shot... their name is Tara."
The receptionist clarified a bit more,
"Madam, they are undergoing surgery. Please go to the OT block on the third floor."
Without wasting a moment, the girl ran towards the lift. The closing doors of the lift and the ticking of the rapidly increasing numbers heightened her anxiety.
As soon as the lift stopped on the third floor, she rushed out as the doors opened and ran towards the operation theatre.
But... her steps stopped then.
Many people were already gathered outside the OT—some nurses, some family members, and two police officers.
Seeing such a crowd and the gravity of the atmosphere, her heartbeat quickened further. Her breath caught in her throat.
For a moment, her eyes welled up... as if some old memories, some unfinished conversations, and a lot of fear held her back.
She stood there for a few seconds...
Her hand slowly moved towards her chest... a whisper escaped her lips—
"Tara..."
Still, the girl—Aditi—gathered her courage.
Taking a deep breath, she slowly moved towards the OT and peeked through the small, round glass on the OT door.
Inside, doctors and nurses were gathered around Tara... Tara lay unconscious... the beeping of the machines and the serious eyes of the doctor made Aditi's eyes moisten.
At that very moment, Karuna ji and Savita ji's gaze suddenly fell on Aditi. They were surprised to see each other.
Savita ji slowly stood up, came to Aditi, and placed her hand on her trembling shoulder.
"Child... who are you? And what are you doing here?"
Aditi replied in a slightly flustered, slightly broken voice,
"Um... I... I am Tara's friend... Aditi..."
Savita ji said softly,
"Oh... alright child, come sit. Her operation is going on... it will be over in a while."
Aditi just nodded silently. The moisture in her eyes was evident, but she said nothing.
The three of them sat there outside the OT, with long breaths and heavy heartbeats...
Each passing second felt like an era.
Then, suddenly, there was commotion in the hospital corridor.
Someone arrived with quick steps, accompanied by three or four bodyguards... they went straight towards Karuna ji, who was sitting outside the OT.
It was Shaurya. Concern was evident on his face and anxiety in his eyes.
"Grandma... are you alright?" he asked, bending down to sit near Karuna ji.
"Did something happen to you? And what's this injury on your forehead?"
Karuna ji tried to smile, but couldn't hide the pain in her voice—
"Oh, child, I'm perfectly fine... just a minor injury. But while saving me, a girl... Tara... was shot in the chest. Her operation is going on right now."
Shaurya's face hardened. His jaw tightened. For a moment, he thought, then said,
"Alright, you and Mom go home. I'll handle everything here."
But Karuna ji immediately replied with firm resolve,
"No, child, I'm not going anywhere. Until that brave girl's operation is complete... I won't move an inch from here."
Shaurya looked into her eyes and knew it was impossible to persuade her now.
After a moment of silence, conceding defeat, he said,
"Alright Grandma, as you wish. We'll stay here."
After almost two hours of anxious waiting, the red light above the OT suddenly went off.
Everyone's breath seemed to stop.
The doctor came out. Faint bloodstains on the white coat, seriousness on the tired face.
Shaurya, Karuna ji, Savita ji, and Aditi immediately went to him.
"Doctor... how is that girl?" Shaurya asked in a fast but controlled voice.
The doctor took a deep breath and said,
"The operation was successful... the bullet has been removed."
A flicker of relief appeared on everyone's faces, but the doctor's next sentence stopped everything—
"But... if she doesn't regain consciousness within 24 hours... she could go into a coma."
Hearing this, Aditi's eyes suddenly welled up with tears. She couldn't stop herself and started crying uncontrollably.
Karuna ji pulled her close and hugged her. Affection was evident on her face, as if bestowing warmth even on a stranger.
Aditi sobbed in her arms like this for a while. Then, she suddenly felt something... and slowly pulled away.
Karuna ji said nothing... just smiled slightly looking into her eyes.
Because she understood—Aditi was not comfortable among people she didn't know well.
Savita ji asked in a soft voice,
"Child... are you alright?"
Aditi just nodded silently. Her eyes were still moist.
Time passed... a strange silence pervaded that hospital corridor.
It was already 8 PM... but Tara hadn't regained consciousness yet.
On the other side, at Tara's house,
Kiran was sitting in the hall watching TV. Then Sakshi came down and said, "Mom, I'm very hungry. When will that witch come and cook for us?"
So Kiran ji, who didn't care about Tara at all, cursed Tara and said, "That unfortunate hasn't arrived yet."
Then Sakshi said, "Mom, forget about her, let's go out to eat. I'm very hungry. I can't wait anymore. Otherwise, the mice in my stomach will commit suicide."
So Kiran ji laughed at Sakshi's words and said, "Alright, let's go. You go get ready, I'll get ready too, then we'll go."
So Sakshi happily hugged Kiran ji and said, "you are so sweet mom"
Then she went to her room from there.
A little later, Sakshi's scream echoed. When Kiran ji came out and saw, she was stunned.
That's all for today.......
So what do you all think, why is Sakshi screaming? What does Kiran ji see when she comes out that stuns her? To know, stay with me and my story.......
Karuna ji quietly came and sat beside Aditi. Her eyes held questions, but she didn't ask anything. Perhaps her mother's heart understood that this girl didn't want to say anything – or perhaps she couldn't. Aditi's timid gaze and trembling lips made Karuna ji realize that she was scared of the unfamiliar environment, and any kind of pressure could break her further.
After a while, Savita ji came to Aditi. Worry was clearly visible on her face. She sat in front of her and asked in a soft voice, "Beta, are you alright?"
Aditi just nodded lightly in affirmation. Her voice seemed to have disappeared somewhere. Her eyes were fixed on the floor, and her hands were clasped together. She was sitting there, but her mind was wandering elsewhere – towards Tara.
Time was slowly crawling. The clock on the wall showed 8 o'clock. The entire house was shrouded in an atmosphere of worry and unease. Every few minutes, the sound of footsteps would be heard, and everyone's eyes would turn towards the door – perhaps for some good news. But Tara had not regained consciousness yet.
Aditi's eyes were fixed on the door. Every time a doctor or nurse emerged, her breath would catch. She was remembering every moment spent with Tara. Her laughing face, her getting upset over trivial things, and then her anger melting away without a word… The corners of Aditi's eyelids began to moisten.
Karuna ji gently held her hands. She didn't say anything, just kept stroking her head. Perhaps this was the comfort Aditi needed the most at this moment – a mother's silent yet deep affection.
On the other hand, the atmosphere in Tara's house was completely different.
In the hall, Kiran ji was lounging comfortably on the sofa, watching TV, with the remote in one hand and a bowl of popcorn in the other. Her favorite daily soap was playing on TV, and she was completely engrossed in it, as if everything in the house was normal.
Just then, Sakshi came down the stairs from upstairs, frustration evident on her face. She walked straight into the hall and said, "Mom, I'm starving. When will that witch come and cook for us?"
Kiran ji, who wasn't worried about Tara at all, replied without taking her eyes off the TV, "The wretched girl hasn't arrived yet! I don't know where she's wandering off to."
Sakshi rolled her eyes and said with irritation, "Mom, forget about her! Let's go out to eat. I'm so hungry. I can't bear it anymore, or the mice in my stomach will commit suicide!"
Kiran ji laughed at her words. She placed the popcorn bowl aside and said with a smile, "Alright, let's go. You go get ready, and I'll get ready too. Then we'll go."
Sakshi quickly moved forward and hugged Kiran ji, saying, "You are so sweet, mom!"
Kiran ji smiled and lightly patted her cheek, saying, "Go now, or your mice will really commit suicide!"
Sakshi giggled and ran towards the stairs, heading to her room, as if nothing unusual had happened in the house.
There was a moment of quiet in the house when suddenly Sakshi's loud scream echoed throughout the house—
"Aaaah, Mom!!"
Kiran ji dropped the remote from her hand. She rushed out of the hall in panic. As her eyes scanned the area near the stairs, her senses left her. Sakshi was sitting on the ground near the stairs, groaning while holding her leg with one hand. Her face was red with pain, and tears were streaming from her eyes.
"Sakshi!" Kiran screamed and reached her, kneeling down to support her and help her up. She somehow managed to hold her and bring her to the sofa, gently making her sit.
"What happened, beta? What happened to your leg?" She quickly examined her leg. It was sprained, and the swelling was clearly visible.
Kiran ji rushed to get the first aid box. She quickly took out the pain relief spray and bandage and started applying it to Sakshi's leg. Her face showed both panic and concern – but only because her daughter was in pain.
Sakshi said, holding back her tears, "The plan to eat out is also ruined now..."
Kiran ji patted her back and said, "Listen, let's eat here today. I'll make something for you, tell me what you like."
Sakshi reluctantly nodded in agreement. Now, along with the pain, hunger also started to trouble her.
After a while, Kiran ji went to the kitchen and made Sakshi's favorite dishes. She brought the food on a tray and placed it in front of Sakshi.
"Come, eat now, beta. Then I'll give you medicine and let you rest," she said.
Sakshi started eating without a word. But surprisingly, throughout that entire time, neither Sakshi nor Kiran ji asked about Tara even once. There was no worry, no concern. It was as if her presence or absence made no difference to them.
The night deepened, and after eating, both went to their respective rooms. There was silence in the house… and in that silence, Tara's absence was somehow buried. Both slept soundly, carefree… while on the other side, in the hospital, Tara still hadn't regained consciousness.
On the other side, something happened in the hospital that made Aditi panic.
So, what do you all think?
What might have happened?
On the other hand, at the hospital,
A strange silence permeated the white walls of the hospital. The night had deepened, and fatigue had begun to show on faces.
Shaurya looked at Karuna Ji and Savita Ji; both had been sitting there for hours, their anxious eyes fixed on Tara's ward door.
“You both should go home… it’s very late, get some rest… Aditi and I are here,” Shaurya said softly.
Initially, both refused, but after Shaurya insisted, they finally agreed.
“Call immediately if anything happens,” Savita Ji said, patting Aditi’s head.
Aditi just nodded silently.
The two women left the hospital with heavy steps.
Now, only Shaurya and Aditi remained in the desolate corridor.
Shaurya signaled his bodyguard, and a little later, he returned with a lunchbox for Aditi.
Shaurya placed the food in front of Aditi and said gently, “Eat something… you haven’t eaten anything since morning.”
Aditi shook her head, saying ‘no’ without meeting his eyes.
After a few moments of silence, Shaurya’s tone suddenly became stern.
“Aditi, are you eating this food or not?”
There was so much anger and sternness in his voice that Aditi got scared. She quickly picked up the food and started eating slowly. Her hand was trembling, but she couldn’t say anything.
Shaurya’s face had calmed down again. Perhaps he realized he had been too harsh. He didn’t say anything, just sat on the nearby chair.
A little later, Aditi also came and sat beside him. Both their gazes were in the same direction—towards the closed door of Tara's ward.
After Aditi fell asleep, the hospital night became even quieter, as if time had stopped. The surrounding silence was a stark contrast to the countless questions swirling in Shaurya’s mind.
Slowly, he moved his wheelchair towards Tara's ward. He gently opened the door and entered.
There, amidst the white sheets, lay a delicate girl unconscious—Tara. Her face was very pale and withered. The innocence that always reflected in her eyes was now completely serene.
Shaurya stood there for a while, just gazing at her. For some reason… his chest felt heavy. A strange ache… as if something was pricking in a corner of his heart.
Moving his wheelchair a little closer, he sat by her head. He kept looking at her face… as if reading an unseen story. Taking a deep breath, he clenched his fists, as if trying to control his emotions.
After a while, without saying anything, he went out. Reaching the corridor, he stopped by the wall… and spent the entire night there. Like a guard… silent.
The faint light of morning began to reflect off the hospital walls. But Tara was still unconscious. It had been a full 20 hours since the operation. At this time, Aditi was sitting by Tara’s head, holding her hands, watching every breath closely.
Suddenly, Tara’s breathing became rapid.
“Tara…!!” Aditi panicked.
She quickly pressed the bell, and within moments, the doctor came inside.
“You go outside,” the doctor said in a stern voice.
Fear and worry simultaneously surfaced in Aditi’s eyes. She glanced back at Tara—she was still restless—and then, with a heavy heart, stepped out.
Meanwhile, in a side room of the hospital, Shaurya was in an important online meeting on his laptop. The same stern business mask was on his face.
But then, his throat suddenly started to feel dry. He began to feel difficulty breathing. Sweat appeared on his forehead, and his heart started beating fast. He closed the laptop and took a deep breath, but the restlessness kept increasing.
“What is happening to me?” he muttered to himself… but there was no answer.
After canceling the meeting, Shaurya took a deep breath and closed his eyes. His mind was restless, his heart trembling with an unknown fear. For a while, he just sat quietly… then clasped his hands and closed his eyes.
“Oh Bholanath…” his voice was low, but full of emotion, “…grant peace to this restless heart of mine… keep my loved ones safe… protect them, Lord…”
A few moments later, his eyes opened. And then… a face surfaced in his mind—Tara’s. He immediately turned his wheelchair towards Tara, but then stopped. As if he remembered something. He took his mobile out of his pocket and dialed a number.
“Did what I asked happen or not?” his tone was calm, but there was an unknown hope hidden within it.
As soon as the call ended, a message arrived on his mobile. Shaurya looked at the screen… and then a faint, cute smile appeared on his lips.
That smile… which very few people would have seen on his face.
And here the chapter ends for today…
The hospital atmosphere was already somber.
At the doctor's request, Aditi looked at Tara once again. The sound of the machines, the oxygen mask on her face, and the constantly fluctuating vitals made her heart feel like it was breaking from within. Tara's breaths were becoming heavy, and with every passing moment, the thread of her life seemed to grow weaker.
Tears welled up in Aditi's eyes, but out of helplessness, she pulled herself together and slowly stepped out as the doctor indicated. Outside, she sat on a bench, clasped her hands together, and looked upwards.
"Oh Lord... don't let anything happen to my Tara... she has always lived for others, never asked for anything for herself... now at least give her a life where she can breathe freely..."
At the same time, in another corner of the hospital, in the conference room, Shaurya was in an important meeting. Several people were discussing on the screen, charts and graphs were being displayed, but Shaurya's mind wasn't there. His face was filled with unease. He kept looking at his watch, then towards the door, as if sensing some unseen fear.
His heart was pounding uncontrollably. His breaths were heavy, as if an invisible weight had been placed on his chest. A light sheen of sweat beaded on his forehead, and his hands tightly gripped the handles of his wheelchair.
Suddenly, he closed his eyes and spoke softly, "Oh dear Lord... after three years, I am feeling the same suffocation. The same restlessness... the same fear. Is something unfortunate about to happen? If so, protect my loved ones, Lord."
His words were soft, but his emotions were profound. Amidst this prayer, a name echoed from a corner of his heart – "Tara".
Shaurya's heart skipped a beat. He quickly turned his wheelchair and closed his laptop. Then, just as he was about to head towards the ward, he remembered something.
He quickly pulled out his mobile from his pocket and dialed a number.
"Rohit... what I told you... did you find out?" There was sternness in his voice, but it also reflected a deep sense of responsibility and worry.
A voice from the other end replied, "Just give me two minutes, sir, I'm sending everything."
Within moments, his mobile screen lit up. A notification appeared – "Rohit's message".
Shaurya swiped his thumb across the screen without delay, and as soon as the file opened, a spark lit up in his eyes and a faint smile appeared in his heart. For the first time... a innocent, quiet smile.
That file was actually Tara's life report – a dossier, containing her entire past.
On the very first page was an old photograph – a little girl, two cute pigtails, innocent wide eyes, and a heart-melting smile. Shaurya's heart melted.
He muttered to himself, "How lovely this girl looks like this..."
But the further he progressed, the more his smile faded. Every page held a new pain – what all Tara had endured since childhood. Her parents' indifferent behavior, the neglect from relatives, falling in the eyes of society, and feeling alone every time.
Shaurya's fingers stopped. His face became serious. His eyes began to ponder, and a heaviness settled in his heart. He closed the file and taking a deep breath, thought, "Perhaps that's why the girl is so quiet... she keeps everything inside."
There was no more time to waste. He immediately headed towards Tara's ward.
As soon as he reached the door, he encountered a chaotic scene. Doctors and nurses were rushing inside. Tara's oxygen level was dropping rapidly, her breathing was quickening, and the beeping of the machines was increasing continuously.
Shaurya's face turned pale. For a moment, he couldn't comprehend anything. Something inside him felt broken. Without saying a word to anyone, he turned away from there and quickly headed towards the hospital temple.
There was peace in the temple. A statue of Lord Ganesha was installed on one side, and the flame of a lamp burned steadily.
Shaurya stopped his wheelchair, joined his hands, and began to pray with his eyes closed.
"Oh Ganpati Bappa... if I have committed any sin, punish me. But don't let that innocent child suffer. She is not at fault. She has only endured so far – but never complained to anyone. Don't break her, Lord... save her."
Two tears rolled down Shaurya's eyes, but he didn't wipe them. He remained seated there – eyes closed, with only one prayer on his lips – "Give her a little happiness, Lord... just a little... enough for her to smile again..."
Meanwhile, outside, Aditi was also praying for Tara. Her eyes were also moist.
Looking towards the sky, she said, "Oh God... save my Tara. She has been broken since childhood. Every time, she has just made compromises. Now, send someone into her life... who can understand her pain. Some prince... who can hold her hand... and love her unconditionally..."
In different places, they both sat with the same plea from their hearts – save Tara.
After some time...
The doctors hurried out of the ward. Two nurses and an assistant followed them. Shaurya and Aditi both rushed towards them. Concern was evident on their faces.
Shaurya asked in a soft but deep voice, "Doctor... is Tara okay now?"
So what do you all think?
Will Tara be alright?
Will God hear Aditi's prayers?
Will a prince truly come into Tara's life to keep her happy, or will Tara continue to live such a life of humiliation?
To find out, keep reading my story....
If you are enjoying the story, don't forget to follow me.
After some time, Shaurya moved towards Tara's ward in his wheelchair. Just then, he saw—the doctor was coming out. Seeing them, lines of worry appeared on both Aditi and Shaurya's faces. Both quickly went to the doctor.
Shaurya went to him without delay and asked softly, "Doctor... is she alright now?"
The doctor smiled and said, "Yes, she has regained consciousness. Her condition is stable."
Upon hearing this, Shaurya's heart was filled with relief for a moment. But he didn't show any emotion on his face… he just gave a slight nod and fell silent. Aditi, standing nearby, had a spark return to her eyes.
She immediately stepped forward and asked the doctor, "Can I meet her?"
The doctor said, "Yes, you can… but be careful, don't talk too much. She needs rest right now."
"Thank you, Doctor!" Aditi said and went inside without any delay.
Shaurya remained standing there—a strange sense of relief in his mind, and an unspoken feeling in his heart…
Aditi went inside and started scolding Tara when she saw her.
"What was the need for you to take that injection yourself?" she said, scolding Tara.
"I didn't do anything. She was pushing them. But I don't know how the injection got administered?" Tara said.
"Foolish girl," Aditi said.
Tara laughed.
"Is that grandmother alright?" Tara asked.
"Yes, she is fine. Just got a blow on her forehead from falling," Aditi replied.
Tara smiled upon hearing her. After talking for a while, Aditi said, "Okay, you rest now. I'll go get something to eat."
Tara nodded her head. Aditi left Tara's ward. After she left, Shaurya came inside and stared at Tara. Shaurya's calm eyes were still fixed on Tara's face. Tara felt a little uncomfortable, but her voice remained gentle.
"How is your grandmother now?" she asked softly.
Shaurya replied gently, "She is better now… because of you."
Tara gave a slight smile, "I didn't do anything… I just did what felt right."
For a moment, both respect and emotion flickered in Shaurya's eyes. He said, "Sometimes, doing 'what feels right' can save a life… and you saved my grandmother's life. For that, I will be indebted forever."
Tara was speechless upon hearing his words. She just bowed her head slightly.
Then Shaurya looked at her and said, "You rest. If you need anything… anything at all… don't hesitate to tell me."
Tara said softly, "Thank you…"
Shaurya cast one more glance at her and then slowly walked out of the room… but his face still held a strange depth—as if he had been truly impressed by someone's sincerity for the first time.
A few moments of silence permeated the room. Shaurya's and Tara's gazes seemed intertwined—a thread of unspoken emotions, making the moment between them profound.
Just then, the door opened slightly, and Aditi's cheerful voice pierced the silence, "Look, what have I brought for you?"
Both Tara and Shaurya's eyes immediately turned towards the sound. Aditi held a small box in her hand, wrapped in her dupatta, as if it contained a very special treasure.
Tara looked with curiosity, and as Aditi removed the dupatta and opened the box, a familiar aroma filled the air—Pav Bhaji! Tara's eyes lit up, and a sweet smile appeared on her lips. It was a smile that came from the heart—not an act, not a pretense, just pure happiness.
"Pav Bhaji?" she asked, a mix of surprise and joy, as if a hungry child had suddenly received their favorite toy.
Aditi laughed and said, "Yes, your favorite. You know, I didn't even eat it myself before you did!"
Tara's eyes welled up, but she hid her tears with a smile. She remembered how she never got to eat her favorite food at home. Her stepmother and sister always gave her leftovers. But Aditi… she always brought something special for her—not just food, but in everything.
Aditi gently scooped out some Pav Bhaji onto a plate and handed it to her. Tara held the plate with childlike innocence and started eating without any hesitation—as if she had forgotten all her troubles in this small moment.
Shaurya watched it all silently. The sparkle in Tara's eyes, the joy on her face… all of it gave his heart a strange coolness. As if some restlessness had inexplicably stopped.
He smiled slightly and muttered to himself, "She's just a child… but she's so lovely."
Seeing them both engrossed with each other, he said, "I'll leave now."
Tara nodded her head while eating. Shaurya left the room in his wheelchair.
Outside, Shaurya called his mother and grandmother to inform them about Tara regaining consciousness. Just then, someone grabbed him from behind.
So what do you all think? Who is that person who hugged Shaurya from behind? Is it an enemy of Shaurya? Keep reading my story to find out…
He said, "I'm going." Tara nodded in a yes while having a bite. Shaurya got out of the wheelchair. Shaurya stepped outside and called his mother and grandmother to inform them that Tara had regained consciousness. Someone suddenly came from behind and held him. Shaurya got startled but as soon as he turned to look back, he relaxed. "What's wrong with you? What are you doing in the hospital?" the boy said. Seeing the concern on his face, Shaurya said, "Relax, Veer. Nothing happened. I just came to see Tara." First, let's get to know Veer. Veer is a 27-year-old handsome boy but a little less than our hero. He has no one in this world. When he was begging at the temple, Shaurya spotted him. He took him to his home. Since Shaurya is the only son of the house, they also kept Veer with them. Everyone loves him very much. No one ever made him feel that he is not the son of this house. He also loves everyone a lot, especially Shaurya. Shaurya is his life. Veer never hesitates to do anything for him. Now let's get back to the story. Hearing this, Veer said, "What's the matter? Did I go on a business trip? You have found a girlfriend for yourself. Come on, let me meet your Bhabhi. I also want to see what is so special about Bhabhi that made my Brahmachari brother a normal man." Shaurya glared at him and said, "Enough of your nonsense. Let's go to the doctor to talk about Tara. Then I will tell you about Tara." Shaurya then left with his assistant Veer to talk to the doctor about Tara. Veer slowly pushed the wheelchair and reached the doctor's cabin and knocked on the door. A voice came from inside, "Come in." Both of them entered. As soon as the doctor saw Shaurya, he stood up from his chair and said, "What's wrong, sir? Is there any problem?" Shaurya gestured with his hand, "Sit down, Doctor." The doctor sat on his chair, and Veer also sat on the chair in front. Shaurya asked directly, "How is Tara's health now?" The doctor replied, "Sir, her condition is stable now. But she needs complete rest. So, we have decided that she will have to stay in the hospital for at least five days." Shaurya nodded seriously. Then he thanked the doctor and stepped out of the cabin with Veer. Tara was shifted to a VIP room. Every facility was available there so that the patient would not face any kind of inconvenience. There was a comfortable sofa in the room, and there were also two extra beds so that those staying with the patient could also get rest. In the evening, Shaurya's grandmother, mother, and Ranvijay Ji were coming to meet Tara. After taking the afternoon medicine, Tara had fallen into a deep sleep. When her eyes opened in the evening, she saw three people in front of her and got startled. One face seemed familiar to her, but the other two were strangers to her. As she tried to get up nervously, Aditi immediately moved forward and supported her and leaned her back against the pillow. "Relax, Tara... You were given medicine just a little while ago," Aditi said softly. Then Karuna Ji, Shaurya's grandmother, sat on the chair kept beside Tara. Then, smiling, she introduced everyone. First, she pointed to Sivita Ji and said, "This is my daughter-in-law, Shaurya's mother — Sivita Ranvijay Singhaniya... and the Rani of Rajasthan." Then she turned to Ranvijay Ji and said, "And this is my son — Ranvijay Singhaniya. Shaurya's father... and the ruler of Rajasthan." Tara greeted them with a respectful bow. Both of them blessed her with love, "Be happy, daughter, and always be healthy." Then Karuna Ji lovingly stroked her hair and asked, "How are you now, beta? Is your health okay?" Tara replied with a slight smile, "I'm fine, Dadi. Did you get hurt?" Hearing this, Karuna Ji said, "Yes, beta, I'm fine because of you. Otherwise, I would have been with God above today..." So Tara immediately said with a smile, "Oh, Dadi Ma, why are you saying that? Nothing will happen to you. You are still young." Her grandmother lovingly patted her head and said, "You shameless girl! You say anything..." Everyone burst out laughing. Tara blushed, but the same familiar mischievous smile was on her face. In this laughter-filled atmosphere, Sivita Ji said something that made Tara shock. The smile on her face slowly disappeared, and her eyes filled with questions. Now the question is - what did Sivita Ji say? Is any old secret going to be revealed? Or did she say something that touched Tara's heart? Keep reading to find out...
Everyone laughed at Tara's witty remark, and the atmosphere became cheerful. But this happiness was fleeting. Savita Ji came to Tara with a gentle smile. Gratitude was evident in her eyes and affection on her face.
She gently stroked Tara's cheek and said, "You are very good, my child. In this day and age, no one cares for another as much as you have cared for us. You have done our family a great favor. No amount of thanks is enough."
With that, she joined her hands. Tara was stunned. Her eyes began to well up. Savita Ji, the Rani Sahiba of Rajasthan, was joining her hands before her. She nervously got up and held her hands, saying, "Oh Rani Sahiba, what are you doing? You are embarrassing me by doing this."
Savita Ji smiled, but her eyes were still moist. "No, child, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. At the time you helped us, even our own people would have turned away. Your heart is so big... it's not a big deal to join hands before it."
Tara said with a slightly sulky tone, "You call me 'child' and then say such things, making me feel like an outsider. If you consider me an outsider, then you have no right to call me 'child'!"
Savita Ji smiled a little, then holding both her hands, said, "Alright, I won't say it like that... but there's a condition. For that, you have to agree to one thing of mine."
Tara smiled slightly and said, "Yes Rani Sahiba, please tell me..."
Savita Ji looked into her eyes and smiled faintly, "From today, you will not call me Rani Sahiba, you will call me Auntie."
Tara wasn't surprised by this. Instead, a comforting smile spread across her face. She nodded slowly and said, "Okay... Auntie."
A gentle sense of relief was on everyone's faces. It was as if warmth was dissolving into cold relationships. At that moment, a nurse entered without knocking. Professional sternness was on her face.
She said, "Please, everyone go outside. Talking with the patient for so long can affect their health."
Hearing the nurse, everyone looked at each other and got up without protest. Karuna Ji, Shaurya's grandmother, came to Tara. Stroking her head, she said, "We will come to see you in the evening, okay?"
Tara happily nodded. Her eyes no longer held any fear or hesitation – only a sense of belonging. One by one, everyone started leaving the room. Shaurya also left with them.
As everyone left, Aditi leaned towards Tara and said, "Wait a moment... I'll bring you some food."
Tara smiled faintly and nodded in agreement. Silence now filled the room – but Tara's heart was filled with the voices of those relationships that no longer considered her an outsider.
About 15 minutes later, Aditi entered the room with a tray. The tray contained a bowl of hot soup and khichdi – standard hospital fare.
Aditi placed the tray on the table and said, "Come, I've brought something for you. Eat, then you have to take your medicine."
As soon as Tara saw the tray, her face fell. Making a childish pout, she said, "I don't want to eat this... looking at the khichdi has made me lose my appetite."
Aditi glared and said, "Eat it quietly. Remember, yesterday I sneaked pav bhaji for you? Today, you have to eat this!"
Tara pouted even more. Aditi sat in front of her, softened a bit, and said, "Eat it today... I'll bring something tasty tomorrow. And you have to get well soon, right?"
Tara nodded slowly and picked up the spoon. The atmosphere was quiet for a moment, then Tara's innocence surfaced again. Making a face, she said, "Then if my stepmother Kiran finds out I'm in the hospital, she'll criticize me so much that my health will worsen!"
Aditi quickly replied, "That's why I'm telling you to get well soon. Otherwise, after hearing that woman's words, even the doctor will refuse to discharge you!"
Both of them burst into laughter for a moment. A smile of relief appeared on Tara's lips for the first time. Perhaps friendship and belonging were her greatest medicine. Aditi's words held bitterness, anger – but behind them was the pain of a friend.
Seeing her so angry, Tara said softly, "Don't say that, Aditi... Whatever she is, she is my mother."
Aditi's patience snapped. She leaned towards Tara and said, "Mother? The mother who makes you work day and night like a maid? Who doesn't even care if you're alive or... in the hospital? You are just an ATM for her, Tara. She is tolerating you for your money, otherwise, she would have kicked you out long ago!"
Tara interrupted her with a stare, "Are you done? Come on now, give it to me, I'll eat the khichdi!"
Aditi took a deep breath and smiled, saying, "Alright... you sit quietly, I'll feed you."
Tara nodded as if surrendering. Aditi lovingly fed her spoonfuls of khichdi. Then she gave her soup and medicine. After taking the medicine, she helped Tara lie down again. The doctor's instruction was clear – sitting for too long was forbidden.
As soon as Tara rested her head on the pillow, the effect of the high-power medications spread through her delicate body. Within a few minutes, she fell into a deep sleep. Seeing her sleep peacefully, Aditi sat on the nearby sofa. She picked up her phone and started scrolling – but her attention kept drifting back to Tara.
The rest of the day passed peacefully. In the evening, Shaurya's family came to see Tara again – they stayed for a while, inquired about her well-being, and left. Shaurya also came into the room for a short while. He saw Tara sleeping, a slight frown on his forehead – perhaps a dream or fatigue.
He quietly asked Aditi, "Is everything alright?"
Aditi simply nodded. Shaurya stood there for a few moments, then quietly went out. Silence filled the room again. The day's fatigue, the turmoil of emotions… all had now sunk into the layers of sleep.
The next morning, Tara woke up to some noise. So, what do you all think? What kind of noise did Tara hear? To find out, keep reading my story "Hukumat-e-Dil."
The next morning, Tara's eyes suddenly snapped open to a commotion. Slowly, her vision cleared, and a look of surprise spread across her face at the scene before her. Her stepmother, Kiran, and Sakshi—at the hospital! They were arguing loudly with Aditi.
"Who are you to stop us?"
"Tara is our daughter, we can meet her whenever we want!"
Aditi was not about to back down either.
"Don't pretend to be a mother now, Kiran Aunty... When you need her, you don't even recognize her!"
Just as Aditi was about to say more, footsteps sounded from outside the ward. Shaurya!
Seeing him, Aditi fell silent for a moment. Seizing the opportunity, Kiran and Sakshi quickly entered the ward. Tara stared at them, wide-eyed. By now, she was fully awake, but a clear unease settled in her heart. Shaurya had also entered the ward behind them.
As soon as they entered, Kiran's face contorted with pain, as if she were shocked by her daughter's condition. Kiran sat by Tara's bedside. Gently stroking her hair, she said,
"How is my daughter? Are you in any pain? As soon as I heard you were in the hospital, look... I rushed here to you."
Sakshi echoed the sentiment.
"Sister... we couldn't even imagine your health had deteriorated so much. If we had known, we would have come overnight."
Shaurya stood silently, observing everything—his gaze fixed on Tara. He could clearly see the moisture in Tara's eyes—but she wasn't shedding tears. She was just watching—her 'mother' and 'sister'—who were putting on a spectacular show for the world.
She replied softly, "Yes, Mother... I am fine."
Aditi's face flushed with anger. She was about to say something when Shaurya subtly gestured with his head for her to remain silent. Shaurya's eyes were still fixed on Kiran. A calm, deep gaze—filled with hatred for them and the ability to see through their deception.
Aditi stood beside him. Her face clearly showed her disgust for the charade. Sakshi, standing behind, smiled confidently. Perhaps she thought their acting was touching Shaurya's heart.
But Shaurya watched silently, with restraint. His eyes spoke volumes—'I understand everything... just wait for the right time.'
Then, Sakshi slowly approached Tara and sat by her bed. A naive smile played on her lips. She took Tara's hand and said,
"Sister... please get well soon and come home... then we'll have lots of fun together. We'll eat kheer made by Mom's hands, and one night we'll lie on the roof again and count the stars... like we used to."
Hearing Sakshi's innocent and loving words, Tara's eyes welled up. But she concealed her emotions and just nodded with a faint smile.
Aditi, standing at a distance, watched all this. Hearing Sakshi's words, she thought to herself—
"Yes, you talk as if you can't live without my sister-in-law... but I know what the reality is..."
Just then, Shaurya's phone rang. He took his phone out of his pocket, looked at the screen, and said in a low voice, "It's an important call, I'll be right back."
Saying this, he left the room.
As soon as Shaurya left, the atmosphere in the room completely changed. Kiran, who had been silent until now, suddenly glared at Tara and said,
"Enough of this drama of playing innocent. What business did you have helping anyone? Will your dead mother do all the housework now? You bring trouble every time."
Tara was stunned by her words. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she couldn't say anything.
Then, Tara got angry. She interrupted,
"Say whatever you want to me. Don't bring my mother into this repeatedly. She is no longer in this world, but at least don't insult her."
Kiran's anger flared up further upon hearing Sakshi. She strode towards Tara in anger and, grabbing her hair, yanked it forcefully, saying,
"What, you've grown wings as soon as you're out? Have you lost all sense of propriety?"
Tara cried out in pain, "Ah... let go... don't pull..." She tried to free herself but couldn't due to her weakness. Kiran's grip tightened. Hearing Tara's scream, Aditi became panicked and stepped forward—
"Let her go! Sister is sick, she's in pain...!"
Tara's sobs, Aditi's panicked voice, and Kiran's scolding filled the room... but no one knew that someone standing just outside the door had heard it all.
So, what do you all think? Who is listening to all this? Will Tara ever be free from the tyranny of these mother and daughter? To find out, keep reading my story "Contract Marriage"...
Shaurya stood outside, watching everything from behind the door. Tara's groans, Sakshi's frightened voice, and Kiran ji's sharp scolding echoed in his ears. Something pricked his heart. A sense of unease arose... and then suddenly, as he stepped forward to go inside, his feet froze.
Because the sight before him was even more shocking.
Aditi, who had been standing by silently, couldn't bear to see Kiran ji pulling Tara's hair mercilessly.
She quickly stepped forward, grabbed Kiran ji's hand, freed Tara's hair, and said angrily,
"What are you doing? Can't you see she's been shot? She just returned from the brink of death... and you're still hurting her like this? If you touch her again, there will be no one worse than me."
Aditi's voice carried a tone that perhaps no one had ever heard from her before. With that, she forcefully yanked Kiran ji's hand away and pulled Tara away from them. Tara was trembling with pain, but now she was in Aditi's arms.
Kiran ji stumbled backward from the sudden push. She was about to fall when Sakshi quickly stepped forward and steadied her.
"Hold yourself together!" Sakshi said, helping her stand.
But Kiran ji's anger had now reached its peak.
She stood up with Sakshi's support and then, glaring at Aditi with anger, began to move towards her. Disgrace and rage were clearly visible on her face.
"Who do you think you are, talking to me like that?"
Shaurya couldn't wait any longer. He immediately entered the room—his face stern and his eyes filled with anger. The sound of the gate opening came from outside the room. For a moment, everyone's attention shifted there. Kiran ji and Sakshi both looked at the door, startled.
The moment they saw Shaurya standing at the door, the expressions on both mother and daughter's faces changed in an instant. Kiran ji hid her anger behind a smile, and Sakshi also put on an innocent face.
Meanwhile, Tara, sitting on the bed, quickly wiped away her tears. She didn't want Shaurya to see her in this condition.
Kiran ji said with a false smile,
"Alright, son, you rest. We'll come to visit again in the evening."
Then, looking at Shaurya with a forced smile, she said,
"Oh Shaurya, dear, you're here... that's good, Tara needs you now."
Shaurya didn't react to her words. He didn't nod, didn't smile—he just kept a cold gaze on both of them. He had clearly sensed their fake laughter and sudden change in demeanor.
Seeing their cold welcome, Kiran ji and Sakshi were both taken aback for a moment. They realized that Shaurya had probably seen everything. Expressions of insult and discomfort were clearly visible on their faces. Silently, without saying anything, they both went out.
Shaurya's gaze was still fixed on the door through which they had left.
Watching them go, Shaurya's heart grew heavy. He thought to himself—
"I don't know how Tara lives with them... even now, in the hospital, they are treating her like this... what must they do at home? How much pain must she endure... alone."
His heart was filled with a strange ache. Remembering Tara's silence, her tear-filled eyes... Shaurya felt restless.
Shaurya was still looking at the door, where Kiran ji and Sakshi had gone out. Many questions and emotions were swirling in his mind when suddenly he heard a faint whisper. Startled, he looked forward.
Aditi, who had been seething with anger, was muttering slowly,
"There's no need for you two to come... you just showed up and left, as if you wanted to show so much affection..."
No one else heard her, but she was standing very close to Tara. So, Tara heard her clearly.
Tara glared at her slightly and said in a low, scolding voice,
"Be quiet, Aditi."
Aditi paid no attention to Tara's scolding gaze. She smiled a little, bared her teeth, and whispered softly,
"Why should I be quiet? I only spoke the truth... and why are you glaring at me as if I've committed a crime?"
Tara bit her lip slightly but said nothing. She knew Aditi's anger was justified... but her own condition, the circumstances, and the confusion in her heart had exhausted her even more.
Shaurya was watching this entire scene—the silent battle between the two girls, the hidden affection, anger, and concern within it... he understood it all. Then something happened that startled both Aditi and Tara.
Meanwhile, on the other side, one person was watching this entire scene with great interest.
Aditi paid no attention to Tara's piercing gaze. She smiled faintly and, baring her teeth, whispered softly,
"Why should I be silent? I spoke the truth... And why are you staring at me as if I've committed a crime against you."
Tara bit her lip slightly, but said nothing. She knew Aditi's anger was justified. But her own condition, circumstances, and the confusion in her heart had made her even more tired.
Shaurya was watching this entire scene—this slow battle between the two girls, the hidden affection, resentment, and concern in it... he understood it all. Then something happened that startled both Aditi and Tara.
Aditi was still whispering softly, arguing with Tara when a familiar voice startled them both—
“What are you two whispering about?”
The sudden voice of Shaurya startled both of them. Tara quickly looked towards Shaurya and, a little flustered, said,
“Nothing… just talking.”
Aditi immediately straightened her face as if nothing had happened.
Shaurya smiled faintly seeing their reaction, then turning towards Tara, said in a gentle voice,
“Okay… but are you feeling alright? Is there any pain?”
Concern was evident in his words. He was looking into Tara’s eyes, as if wanting the answer not just from words, but from her face as well.
Tara smiled faintly looking into his eyes and, shaking her head slowly, said,
“Yes… I’m fine.”
Shaurya nodded slightly, satisfied with her answer, and said,
“Alright, then I’ll leave… but if you need anything, tell my assistant Veer. He will arrange everything for you.”
Both Aditi and Tara were quiet for a moment, seeing his caring attitude.
Aditi looked at Tara and whispered softly,
"Your hero turned out to be quite caring…"
And before Tara could say anything, she turned away with a smile.
Shaurya had seen Tara's condition. He stood silently for a few moments, then took a visiting card from his coat pocket and extended it towards Aditi.
"Here's my card," he said in a gentle but serious tone, "It has my number. Whenever you need, feel free to call. I will try to provide all possible help. And now, please rest a bit... I'm leaving."
Aditi took the card, a spark of gratitude in her eyes, but she said nothing. Shaurya left the room with a faint smile, and as soon as he left, a quiet silence filled the room.
Aditi looked at Tara, who was still lying quietly on the bed.
"You rest, I'm going home for a while. I'll tell a nurse to take care of you,"
Saying this, Aditi spoke to the nurse and left after gently placing her hand on Tara's head.
Tara was still filled with pain and exhaustion. Under the effect of the medicines the doctor had given her, her eyes soon closed, and she drifted into sleep.
Meanwhile, one person was watching all this with great attention. He was watching Shaurya's actions and Kiran and Sakshi's acting very well.
(Who this person is, you will find out in the next chapter.)
Time passed slowly. Tara's condition was much better now.
Although Shaurya had not spent much time with her during this week, he used to come to the hospital every day. From medicines to food, he personally took care of everything Tara needed. He spoke little himself, but his small actions, his quiet concern… conveyed everything.
During this time, Shaurya's family also came to see Tara several times. Savita ji had affectionately placed her hand on Tara's head, and Grandma Arunaji, kissing her forehead, had said,
"Get well soon, child… everyone at home is waiting for you."
Tara liked that affection, but at the same time, she felt a strange hesitation—because all this felt very new to her. She had never received such affection in the home where she lived.
After a week... Sunday morning...
Today was a special day for Tara—after spending a week in the hospital, she was being discharged today. The faint sunlight coming through the room's window fell on her face, as if giving her the relief of freedom.
It had only been a few moments when there was a knock on the door. Shaurya entered with a file in his hand. When Tara saw him, a slight smile appeared on her face.
"Good morning," Shaurya asked about her well-being with his eyes.
"Good morning," Tara replied softly.
Shaurya completed all the formalities with the doctors and then signed the discharge papers.
"You can leave now… the doctor said you need rest at home. Take care of your medicines."
Tara nodded in agreement.
All the procedures were completed in a short while. Shaurya himself called the driver and had Tara's luggage loaded into the car.
"Your luggage is in the car… Veer (assistant and friend) will drop you home," he told Tara.
Tara kept looking at him. She wanted to say something, but words failed her. She just said softly, "Thank you…"
Shaurya nodded slightly and smiled without saying anything.
As the car drove away, Shaurya saw a notification on his phone—a reminder for today's meeting.
Although he had been away from the office since Tara's accident, today's meeting was extremely important for him. This meeting was the foundation of his dream project—a project he had been dreaming of realizing for years.
As he sat in his car, he muttered, "Today… is very important for me. Years of hard work are going to pay off today."
He sat in the car thinking all this, and then the car set off towards the office.
On the other side, at Tara's home,
As soon as Tara and Aditi reach Tara's home, Kiran Ji says something that brings tears to Aditi's eyes.
So what do you all think? What must Kiran Ji have said? Who is the one secretly watching Tara? To know, keep reading my story "Hukumat-e-Dil"...
As the car stopped in front of Tara's house, Aditi got out with her and supported her by the waist, taking her inside. Tara's face clearly showed her exhaustion, but there was also a strange sense of relief at returning home.
"Come, you need to rest," Aditi said, and gently led her to her room.
From the balcony above, Sakshi saw them arrive. Without wasting any time, she ran straight to her mother.
"Mom… Mom… Tara has arrived!"
As soon as she spoke, a strange glint appeared in Kiran Ji's eyes—not of happiness, but of tightening her grip.
"Oh! So the queen has arrived…"
Saying this, she hurried towards Tara's room.
Upon reaching the room, her tone was filled with taunts,
"So, you've rested enough… Get up, go to the kitchen and cook. My daughter and I were about to drop dead without you."
Tara tried to say something, but exhaustion and weakness choked her voice in her throat.
Hearing all this, Aditi's blood boiled. Standing in front of Tara, she spoke in a slightly louder voice,
"Can't you see she's still not well? She was shot, she can barely stand… and you're asking her to cook? If anything happens to her, I won't let you off."
Kiran Ji was momentarily taken aback, but then her face flushed with anger.
"Are you going to teach us how to run a household now? Who are you to interfere?"
Aditi felt terrible hearing this.
But thinking of Tara, Aditi replied without turning,
"I am nothing, but a girl who possesses humanity… and Tara's friend. I have every right to speak up when someone oppresses her, even in her condition…"
Tara stood between them, trying to calm them down, but the panic and restlessness on her face were evident.
Kiran Ji's voice held both command and taunt,
"Come on, go to the kitchen and cook for us. You've rested plenty!"
Tara glanced at Aditi, who was still trembling with anger, and then said in a soft voice,
"Yes, Mom… I'll cook… you go and rest…"
Aditi's face became stern.
"But…" she tried to say something.
But before she could, Tara's eyes met hers—soft but firm. There was so much affection and pleading in that one look that Aditi's tongue was tied.
Kiran Ji's sharp gaze continued to bore into Aditi, and then she walked out of the room with her head held high. Sakshi followed her silently.
As they both left, Aditi glared at Tara in anger and said,
"Since when did you get a liking for being so noble? You know your gunshot wound hasn't healed yet, and still, you obeyed that witch!"
Tara came near her with a slight smile and said,
"Okay, calm down, my mighty warrior. You're always ready to fight. Why don't you ever do something for yourself…"
Aditi's face softened for a moment. Taking a deep breath, she said,
"You know… why I can't stand up for myself… and still, you're saying this to me?"
Pausing slightly, she spoke in a slow but heavy voice, as if picking at an old wound,
"And besides, even if I ever stand up for myself… what difference would it make? For a girl whom her own parents don't trust… who else will?"
As she said this, her eyes welled up, and a sharp, pain-filled smile spread across her face—as if she had learned to laugh at her own pain.
Tara's heart was filled with emotion. Without saying anything, she quietly placed her hand on Aditi's shoulder. No words, just a lot of affection in that touch.
As Aditi hugged Tara, her pain finally flowed out. Her tears began to drench Tara's shoulder. Tara gently stroked her back, as if trying to offer her comfort with every touch.
After a while, to lighten the mood, Tara said with a laugh,
"I think we'll have to call the fire brigade now… there's a real danger of drowning in this river of your tears today!"
Aditi, who was sobbing just moments ago, managed a faint smile at her words. Tears still lingered in her eyes, but there was also a sense of relief on her face.
Tara smiled and wiped her tears, saying,
"Come on, smile now… I don't like seeing you cry at all. You look best to me like my mighty warrior—like Rani of Jhansi!"
Aditi laughed, and a warm glow lit up both their eyes.
Then Tara told her, with a little sternness but also with love,
"Alright, you go home now… I also have some work to do."
But Aditi said, waving her hands,
"No, I'm not going anywhere yet. Come on, I'll lend a hand in your kitchen. Those mother-daughter duo won't help you, and you've been told not to overexert yourself. So, I'll take charge!"
Tara knew it was futile to refuse Aditi, so she just nodded lightly. Both of them, laughing and talking, headed towards the kitchen.
As they reached the kitchen, their steps faltered, and their mouths remained agape.
Aditi, who had been sobbing just moments ago, gave a faint smile upon hearing her. Tears still lingered in her eyes, but there was a sense of peace on her face.
Tara, smiling, wiped her tears and said, "Come on, smile now... I don't like seeing you cry at all. You look good to me like my mighty Bhima—a Rani of Jhansi type!"
Aditi burst into laughter, and a warm spark lit up in both their eyes.
Then Tara, with a bit of sternness but with love, said, "Alright, you go home now... I also have some work to do."
But Aditi, waving her hands, said, "No, I'm not going anywhere yet. Come, I'll lend a hand in your kitchen. Those two mother-daughter won't help you, and you've also been forbidden from doing too much work. So, I'll take charge now!"
Tara knew it was useless to refuse Aditi, so she just nodded slightly. Both of them, laughing and chatting, headed towards the kitchen.
As soon as they reached the kitchen, their steps halted, and their mouths remained agape.
The kitchen was in complete disarray. The sink was overflowing with dishes, half-eaten food lay on plates, milk had boiled over on the stove, and the gas was still on a low flame.
Aditi exclaimed in shock, "What is this mess! Does it look like the aftermath of a war?"
Tara also said in surprise, "It seems Sakshi tried to make something yesterday... and the kitchen surrendered!"
Both stood stunned for a while, then looked at each other and burst into loud laughter.
An hour later, Shaurya arrived at his office. As usual, his face was serious and expressionless. Veer was already waiting for him outside the office building. As soon as Shaurya's car stopped, Veer stepped forward, opened the door, and said in a very professional manner, "Good morning, Sir."
Shaurya just nodded slightly and proceeded towards the office without saying anything. Upon entering, staff from all directions greeted him— "Good morning, Sir," "Welcome back, Sir," "Glad to see you, Sir!"—but Shaurya merely glanced at them, acknowledging all their greetings with a silent nod.
Veer took him to his cabin via the personal lift. As the lift doors closed, Veer said softly, "Sir, your meeting is at 11 AM today. Mr. Johnson will reach here by 11 AM."
Shaurya's face immediately shifted into professional mode. "Alright. Give me all the project files. And there should be no shortcomings in the meeting preparations."
Veer immediately nodded in agreement and left the cabin.
About ten minutes later, Veer returned with a file. "Sir, here is the complete presentation file and the client report. All the technical aspects of the meeting room have also been checked."
Shaurya took the file without much ado and began reading it carefully. Veer understood that he shouldn't disturb him now, so he quietly left the cabin.
Shaurya was sitting seriously in front of his laptop, attending his online meeting. Fatigue was clearly visible in his eyes, but his dedication to work was equally deep. The room was dimly lit, and the soft rays of the evening filtered through the window.
Just then, there was a soft knock on the room door.
Shaurya immediately sat up straight and said in his commanding voice, "Come in."
The door opened slowly, and Karuna Ji, his grandmother, entered with an affectionate smile. Wrapped in a white saree, the lines of age were on her face, but the love and warmth were still as fresh as ever.
Upon seeing her, Shaurya's seriousness melted away in an instant. A gentle smile spread across his face.
"Oh, Grandma, you! Come, sit down," he said, immediately rising from his chair, "You could have told me, and I would have come myself."
Karuna Ji nodded slightly, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Why? Can't we come to our grandson?" she said in a loving scolding tone.
Shaurya smiled slightly, went to her, held her hands, and said, "No, Grandma... you are always closest to my heart."
A deep sense of belonging filled the room. After office meetings, business deals, and the day's hustle, this moment was the most comforting for Shaurya.
Karuna Ji sat down next to Shaurya. For a few moments, she just looked at her grandson, who was no longer her little Shaurya—he had now become a serious, responsible, and mature man.
Then she said softly but in a serious tone, "Shaurya, I needed to talk to you about something important."
Shaurya nodded slightly, "Yes, Grandma, tell me."
Karuna Ji said calmly, looking into his eyes, "Son, you are 29 years old... soon you will be 30. When will you get married, son?"
Shaurya's face suddenly turned stern. His smile faded. He took a deep breath and said, "Never, Grandma. You know the reason why I don't want to get married. Why are you still saying the same things?"
Karuna Ji's face became a little sad, but her tone was still gentle, "Son, not everyone is like him. There are some good people in this world too... who will understand your wounds, who will try to heal them."
Shaurya lowered his gaze. After a moment of silence, he said in a cold voice, "No, Grandma, I don't want to get married. Please, don't talk about this anymore. I have an online meeting to attend now... you should go."
Karuna Ji just looked at him for a moment—not with anger, but with a broken heart.
Then she said something that made Shaurya stunned.
So, what do you all think Karuna Ji must have said that left Shaurya stunned?
Keep reading my story to find out...
Then she said in a gentle but firm tone, "Shaury, I needed to talk to you about something important."
Shaury nodded lightly. "Yes, Grandma, speak."
Karuna Ji looked into his eyes calmly and said, "Son, you are 29... soon to be 30. When will you get married, son?"
Shaury's face suddenly became stern. His smile faded. He took a deep breath and said, "Never, Grandma. You know the reason I don't want to get married. Why are you still saying the same things?"
Karuna Ji's face became a little sad, but her tone was still soft. "Son, not everyone is like her. There are some good people in this world too... who will understand your wounds and try to heal them."
Shaury lowered his gaze. After a moment of silence, he said in a cold voice, "No, Grandma, I don't want to get married. Please, don't bring this up again. I have an online meeting to attend now... you can go."
Karuna Ji just kept looking at him for a moment—not with anger, but with a broken heart.
Then she said in a deep voice, "If you don't marry someone of my choice this time, then forget that you even have a grandmother. Talk to me only when you are ready for marriage."
Saying this, she got up and left the room without looking back. As she left, a heavy silence filled the room... and a hint of regret floated in Shaury's eyes, which he hid even from himself.
Karuna Ji left Shaury's room without saying anything. There was weariness in her steps, moisture in her eyes, and heaviness in her heart.
Meanwhile, Shaury, who had turned back to his laptop, thought to himself—
"Just like every time, Grandma must have spoken in anger. When her anger cools down, she will talk to me herself."
Thinking this, he became engrossed in his work again, as if nothing had happened.
But downstairs, in the drawing-room, the atmosphere was something else.
Karuna Ji slowly descended the stairs, weariness on her face and a heavy burden on her mind. Seeing her, Savita Ji came forward.
"Mother-in-law... did Shaury agree to get married?" The question, filled with hope, seemed to get stuck in the air.
Karuna Ji lowered her gaze. Her voice was subdued. "No... he still doesn't want to move on from the past."
Lines of worry appeared on Savita Ji's face. "What will you do now?" she asked softly.
There was now determination in Karuna Ji's eyes. She spoke in a slow but firm voice,
"This time, if Shaury agrees to marry... only then will I talk to him. Otherwise... I won't."
There was a pain in her voice that only a mother or grandmother could understand—there was love, and a setback... but most of all, a final hope.
Savita Ji looked into Karuna Ji's eyes and said, "Can you stay without talking to him? Your life is in Shaury..."
Karuna Ji's face became expressionless. Then, taking a deep breath, she said, "For his own good, I have to do this. Otherwise, he will never be able to move forward."
Savita Ji nodded silently. "As you wish, Mother-in-law... I'll prepare lunch."
Karuna Ji nodded slightly, but the spark in her eyes was still extinguished.
A little later, the whole family gathered at the dining table for lunch. The table was set, and the servants were serving everyone. The atmosphere was as peaceful as usual, but today there was also an unspoken tension.
Shaury also came downstairs. Pushing his wheelchair himself, he came to his place and sat right next to Karuna Ji. As always, he greeted everyone with a slight smile, but today the atmosphere was different.
The servants began to set the plates. Then Shaury noticed that Karuna Ji, without looking at him or saying anything, started eating.
No eye contact, no conversation.
Shaury's face fell in an instant. His heart felt heavy.
"Grandma is angry with me... but this much?" This question gnawed at him from within.
Everyone sat silently at the dining table. Then, suddenly, food got stuck in Karuna Ji's throat, and she started coughing loudly.
Shaury immediately became alert. He left his plate, quickly leaned towards her, and picked up the water bottle, offering it. "Grandma... have some water."
But Karuna Ji ignored his hand and refused to take the water. She was still coughing.
Seeing this, Savita Ji, flustered, got up from her chair and quickly went to her and gave her water. Karuna Ji slowly recovered.
Shaury remained seated—his hand still suspended in the air, and his face... sad. His grandmother's behavior pricked him to the core.
"So much anger... towards me?" He said nothing, just looked at his plate.
But thinking about not eating, he tried to convince himself—
"I won't skip my meal out of anger with Grandma... that would be wrong."
He quietly ate a little, and then, without saying anything to anyone, he turned his wheelchair and went back to his room.
As soon as he left, Savita Ji turned to Karuna Ji—both anger and worry were clearly reflected on her face.
"Mother-in-law, because of your cold behavior, he left without eating properly."
Karuna Ji took a long breath. Then, without any regret, she said,
"Don't worry, daughter-in-law. If I don't harden my heart this time... he will never agree. He is burning himself in the past every day. Now is the time to pull him out... and if I have to be strict for that, I will be."
Though her voice was stern, the corners of her eyes were moist... because the truth was that she was breaking... but to mend her grandson.
Karuna Ji remained silent for a while, then taking a deep breath, she said,
"That girl... what can I say... she came like a storm and ruined our Shaury's life. Such an innocent, such a cheerful boy... today he doesn't even like to look at any girl. But daughter-in-law, the one I have chosen this time... I have full faith—she will make our Shaury like before. She will teach him to live again."
Savita Ji nodded with teary eyes. A faint line of hope appeared on her face.
Then, Ranvijay Ji, who had been silent until now, asked softly,
"By the way, Mother... you still haven't told us the girl's name or address. Who is she?"
A faint smile appeared in Karuna Ji's eyes.
So, what do you all think?
Who is the girl Karuna Ji has chosen for Shaury?
Will Shaury agree to get married?
To know, keep reading my story...
Karuna Ji remained silent for a moment, then let out a deep sigh and said,
“That girl… what can I say… she came like a storm and ruined Shaurya’s life. Such an innocent, cheerful boy… today he doesn't even like to look at any girl. But daughter-in-law, the one I’ve chosen this time… I have full faith – she will make our Shaurya like he used to be. She will teach him to live again.”
Savita Ji nodded with teary eyes. A faint line of hope appeared on her face.
Just then, Ranvijay Ji, who had been silent until now, asked softly,
"By the way, Mother… you haven't told us that girl's name or address yet. Who is she?"
A faint smile touched Karuna Ji’s eyes. Karuna Ji’s smile deepened. Looking at Ranvijay, she said softly,
"You know her…"
Ranvijay stared at her intently for a moment – as if trying to understand the meaning of her words. Then, a faint flash appeared on his face – as if a name, a face had suddenly struck him.
"Mother… are you… talking about Tara?"
Karuna Ji nodded with a smile – "Yes… her."
Savita Ji’s face lit up too. She couldn't hide her enthusiasm,
"Mother-in-law… your choice is truly wonderful. Tara seems made for this house. In today's times, who helps others so selflessly? But that child… she helps everyone, tries to bring a smile to everyone’s face.”
Then, her tone suddenly became a little worried. A slight doubt and concern surfaced on her face,
"But Mother… will she agree? Shaurya is not the same as before… and she must have her own family too, will they agree?”
Karuna Ji's smile was now more composed. She said with confidence,
"I haven't just looked at the girl; I've seen her upbringing, her vision, her nature. I am sure… Tara is the one who can open the doors to Shaurya’s heart. As for the rest… the higher power joins relationships, daughter-in-law… we can only try.”
Then Karuna Ji (Grandmother) said, "I have asked Ranvijay’s assistant, Raghu, for details about Tara. He will be here soon, and then we will discuss this properly."
Karuna Ji (Mother) and Ranvijay Ji (Father) both nodded in agreement. Then everyone ate silently and went to their respective rooms. An unusual sense of anticipation filled the atmosphere.
About an hour later, Ranvijay Ji’s assistant, Raghu, arrived home. He politely asked a servant sweeping the hall, "Excuse me, where is Mother Ji?"
The servant looked up and replied, "She is in her room."
Raghu headed towards Karuna Ji’s room without delay. Reaching the door, he knocked softly.
From inside, Karuna Ji’s voice came, "Come in."
Raghu entered. Seeing him, Karuna Ji asked, "Is the work done?"
Raghu nodded and said 'yes', and handed her a blue file. Karuna Ji took the file with a serious expression and then gestured for him to leave.
As Raghu turned towards the door, Karuna Ji called out from behind, "Listen, on your way out, tell a servant to send Savita and Ranvijay to my room."
"Yes," Raghu said politely and left the room. He conveyed Karuna Ji's message to a servant standing in the hall and then quietly left the house.
A servant slowly went towards Ranvijay Ji and Savita Ji’s room. Knocking on the door, he politely said, "Mother Ji has called you to her room."
Upon hearing him, Ranvijay Ji simply nodded lightly and gestured for him to leave. The servant quietly returned.
After a few moments, Ranvijay and Savita both walked towards Karuna Ji’s room. Reaching the door, they knocked softly and went inside.
Upon entering, Ranvijay Ji asked, "Mother, you called us?"
Karuna Ji’s serious eyes held a steady gaze, "Yes, Raghu just came. He gave me the file with Tara's information. I thought you both should see it together."
Ranvijay and Savita both sat down next to Karuna Ji. As the file was opened, layers of Tara’s life began to unfold page by page—her education, family, behavior, and everything necessary to understand an unknown face.
For a while, only the rustling of the file pages echoed in the room.
As the three of them turned the pages of the file, shadows of surprise and pain deepened on their faces. One page, in particular, shook them to their core.
It clearly stated the truth of the atrocities Tara was enduring in her life—the mental and emotional abuse from her aunt and her aunt’s daughter, Shreya, neglect at home, taunts, and being treated as less than human.
As she read the file, Savita Ji’s eyes filled with tears. She said in a choked voice, "This child is suffering so much… but why doesn't she say anything? Why doesn't she do anything?"
Karuna Ji took a deep breath and said softly, "Because she has no one to tell. Those mother and daughter never accept her, but Tara still considers them her family. Who else does she have in this world?"
Savita Ji gently closed the file and said emotionally, "Despite enduring so much, she hasn't lost her innocence and humanity… looking at her, no one would think she is going through so much."
Karuna Ji nodded slowly in agreement, her eyes also reflecting affection for Tara.
Just then, Ranvijay Ji said thoughtfully, "Mother, Savita… perhaps God has brought her before our eyes… so that we can become the place in her life that she has longed for.”
Hearing his words, Savita and Karuna Ji—both of their faces bloomed with a faint, gentle smile. In that smile, there was compassion, a sense of belonging… and an unspoken promise too—Tara would not be alone anymore.
Savita ji gently closed the file and said in an emotional tone, "Despite enduring so much, she hasn't forgotten her innocence and humanity... Looking at her, no one would imagine what she's been through."
Karuna ji nodded in agreement. Her eyes, too, overflowed with affection for Tara.
Just then, Ranvijay ji said thoughtfully, "Mother, Savita... Perhaps God brought her before our eyes for a reason... so that we can become that place in her life that she has longed for until now."
Hearing his words, a faint, gentle smile graced Savita ji and Karuna ji's faces. That smile held compassion, a sense of belonging... and an unspoken promise too—Tara would no longer be alone.
Karuna ji (Grandmother) spoke in a voice filled with sorrow, "Those two, mother and daughter, could never accept Tara as their own... but Tara still considers them her family. And whom else should she consider? Who else does she have?"
Savita ji's eyes were moist. She said softly, "Yes, Mother... even after suffering so much sorrow, she hasn't lost her humanity, her innocence. Looking at her, no one would imagine how much she has endured."
Karuna ji nodded in agreement. Not like a mother, not like a grandmother... but in that moment, she felt the pain of Tara's destiny herself.
Just then, Ranvijay ji said seriously, "Your decision was absolutely right, Mother. Tara is perfect for our Shaurya. She is the one who can pull Shaurya out of the pain we all have felt... but couldn't understand."
A spark of hope lit up in Karuna ji and Savita ji's eyes at his words. There was a contentment on their faces... as if their hearts had accepted that fate had taken the right turn this time.
Savita ji, smiling with joy, said, "So Mother, what have you decided... when shall we go to Tara's house?"
Karuna ji, without losing a moment, said in a firm tone, "I think we should go today. The longer the child is kept with those devils, the more it will affect her mind. I want to make her my daughter-in-law as soon as possible."
Savita ji's face lit up with joy. "Yes, Mother, I want the same. Such an understanding, humble, and patient girl... where do you find a daughter-in-law like her these days?"
Karuna ji nodded in agreement. Ranvijay ji also smiled quietly—as if he too was completely ready for the idea of bringing Tara home.
The three finally made a decision together—they would go to Tara's house today... and propose marriage for Shaurya.
Just then, Karuna ji turned to Savita and said, "Daughter-in-law, you prepare the auspicious gifts for Tara. We will have the engagement today... and unite our daughter-in-law with Shaurya's name."
Savita ji said with enthusiasm and affection, "Yes, Mother, I will get everything ready right away."
There was a different energy in the room—as if a new dawn was announcing its arrival.
Just then, Savita ji's smile began to fade. A slight line of worry appeared on her face.
She said in a soft voice, "But Mother-in-law... Shaurya? Will he be ready for this alliance?"
Karuna ji immediately held her hand and said lovingly but firmly, "Don't you worry about him, daughter-in-law. I know he will agree to the marriage. No matter how strong he appears on the outside, he is broken from within... and only a girl like Tara can teach him to live again."
Savita ji saw the trust in Karuna ji's eyes and nodded in agreement.
Then, Ranvijay ji and Savita ji both proceeded towards their respective rooms.
As soon as Savita ji reached her room, her face lit up again. She immediately called the maid and began preparations for Tara's auspicious gifts—the auspicious plate, sweets, bangles, sari... everything as one would do when accepting a daughter-in-law for the first time.
In everything now, only one name echoed—Tara.
At Singhania Villa, around 3 o'clock, Savita ji was pacing around the house, checking all the items. She felt a little nervous, as many things needed to be in the right place on time.
Just then, Karuna ji (Grandmother) came to her and asked, "Have all the items been put in the car?"
Savita ji nodded in agreement and said, "Yes Mother, everything is there. I'll just check once more to make sure everything is correct."
"Alright," Karuna ji said, "Call me after putting the luggage. I am going to Shaurya's room."
Savita ji nodded again and watched Karuna ji head towards Shaurya's room.
Savita ji immediately took out her phone and started calling someone. On the first ring, no one received the call, but on the second ring, the call was answered.
On the other end was Ranvijay ji. As soon as he received the call, Savita ji said angrily, "What are you doing? When are you reaching home? It's time to leave, and you're still nowhere to be found."
Hearing Savita ji's angry voice, Ranvijay ji smiled slightly and said, "Oh, Mrs. Ji, take a breath. I didn't pick up the call, and you've already started."
Savita ji retorted sarcastically, "Then what else should I do? We have only one son. Even for him, you're not arriving at the right time."
Ranvijay ji patiently replied, "Mrs. Ji, I am in a meeting right now. The meeting will end in 15 minutes, and then I'm coming home. Alright, I'll hang up now."
Savita ji took a deep breath in anger and said, "Alright," then hung up the phone.
Now she started checking all the items once again.
Meanwhile,
At Tara's house,
Kiran ji says something to Tara that leaves Tara astonished.
So, what do you all think?
What must Kiran ji have said to leave Tara astonished?
Will Shaurya agree to the marriage?
Will Kiran ji approve of Shaurya and Tara's marriage?
To find out, keep reading my story...
On the other hand, at Tara's house, Tara was busy in the kitchen. She had finished her household chores and was now quietly preparing dinner. First, she cleaned the house, then went to the kitchen and started cooking. Today was special – Kiron Ji's guests were coming, and she had been told to cook well for them.
Tara was performing her duties as she always did. She paid close attention to every detail, and while cooking, she worked with great care so that nothing went wrong.
The food was almost ready when Kiron Ji suddenly entered the kitchen.
"Is the food ready?" she stood beside Tara and asked a bit harshly.
Tara bowed her head and replied calmly, "Yes, mother, the food is almost ready."
Kiron Ji gave her a slightly sharp look and then said, "Alright, here, wear this saree and get ready. The guests are about to arrive."
Tara looked at Kiron Ji questioningly, as if asking, "Mother, why do I need to get ready in this saree?" Her eyes had a question, but she couldn't express it in words.
Kiron Ji ignored her gaze and said in a cold tone, "Do as I say. Today, the boy's family is coming to see you."
Tara was taken aback by this. Her face turned pale, and she was completely shocked. She didn't know what to say.
" Mother, I don't want to get married yet," she stammered.
Kiron Ji's face hardened without any emotions. She ignored Tara's words and said in a stern voice, "You don't need to speak. Just do as I say. Go, go and get ready."
Tara tried to speak again, but before she could say anything, Kiron Ji glared at her angrily and said, "Your parents are dead, and how many more days do you think you can dance on my head?"
Kiron Ji's harsh words made Tara's eyes well up with tears. But she held them back. Her silence said a lot, but she just nodded her head and stood quietly.
Kiron Ji finished her work, placed everything on the kitchen slab, and left without looking at Tara. After she left, Tara's tears began to flow. But she tried to hold them back.
"Don't cry, Tara. You will have to get married someday. Why not now?" she told herself.
After saying this, she wiped away her tears, washed her face, and finished the remaining kitchen work. Then, she quietly went to her room.
After some time, she got ready in the saree Kiron Ji had given her and came out. By then, Kiron Ji's guests had also arrived. Tara's heart was beating with a little fear, but she composed herself and stepped forward to welcome the guests.
Kiron Ji asked Tara to bring snacks and tea from the kitchen. Tara quietly brought the snacks and tea. She slowly placed them on the tea table.
"This is my daughter, Tara. She is the one who is going to get married to you," Kiron Ji said, presenting Tara to everyone.
Tara looked around, a bit embarrassed, but she remained silent and bowed her head.
"Well, Kiron Ji, the girl is very good. But first, our Dulha Raja needs to like her," a man sitting there looked at Tara and said with a smile.
"Yes, why not?" Kiron Ji smiled confidently.
"Then, let both of them have a chance to talk. It will be good for both of them," the man said again.
For a moment, Tara's eyes flashed with fear and anxiety, but she remained silent. She didn't see any option. She just watched quietly.
"Of course, they will get a chance to talk," Kiron Ji agreed with a cold smile.
"Tara, beta, show Dulha Raja your room," Kiron Ji told Tara.
Tara lowered her gaze and nodded silently, then moved forward. The man, whom everyone called 'Dulha Raja,' followed her.
Tara opened the door and entered her room. She stood quietly by the side. Suddenly, the man moved forward from behind and caught her hand without permission.
His touch was rude, as if he was asserting some kind of authority – no affection, no respect. Just a strange kind of coercion.
Tara's soul shuddered. She immediately tried to pull her hand away, but the man held it even tighter. His eyes had a repulsive greed, and his grip had a bestial quality.
Tara's face turned pale with fear, but she tried again – this time a bit stronger.
"Please... let go of my hand," her voice was shaking, but it was firm.
The man looked into her eyes, gave a twisted smile, and said, "This is just the beginning."
Tara lifted her head and looked up. And when she saw who it was, her hands and feet began to tremble.
So, what do you all think? What did Tara see that made her condition like this? To know, keep reading my story......
No response from Groq.
Meanwhile, Shaurya's grandmother (Karuna Ji), mother (Savita Ji), and father (Ranvijay Ji) had set out for Tara's house. As the car stopped outside the house, Savita Ji stepped forward, raising her hand to knock on the door, but some sounds coming from inside stopped her.
Kamlesh entered the hall. The same shamelessness was still evident in his eyes. Kiran Ji smiled upon seeing him and said,
"So, how did you like my daughter Tara?"
Kamlesh, with his cheap smile, brazenly replied,
"She's a great catch..."
Kiran Ji acted as if she hadn't heard a thing. Instead, she asked the next question,
"So, what price would you put on her?"
Kamlesh replied without a moment's hesitation,
"One crore rupees. And in return, she will be entirely mine... forever."
As soon as Kiran heard this, her eyes lit up. It was as if someone had placed a treasure in her lap.
Meanwhile, upstairs in the room, Tara was overhearing everything. Every word felt like it was tearing her heart apart.
"She's a great catch..."
"Price..."
"Mine forever..."
She burst into tears. Her veins filled with hatred—even more than for Kamlesh, she now hated her 'little mother.'
Kiran Ji's face was completely spread with that greedy smile. She was about to say 'yes' to Kamlesh when suddenly—
"Wait! This deal cannot happen!"
A deep, commanding voice echoed from behind. All eyes turned towards the door. Standing at the door was Ranvijay Pratap Singh Rathore, the ruler of Rajasthan, Shaurya's father... with royal flair in every step and fire in his eyes.
Kiran Ji was startled for a moment, and Kamlesh began to sweat profusely. Ranvijay Ji stepped forward and stood before Kiran.
"You will get whatever price you want... but now, I am making this deal."
"I will give you five crores... but in return, Tara will become our daughter-in-law from now on."
Kamlesh's eyes widened in disbelief. Ranvijay Ji's gaze fixed on him, and he said in a cold voice,
"You can leave now… and if you ever cross our path… the consequences will be worse than your wildest nightmares."
Kamlesh understood everything in an instant. Confronting Ranvijay Pratap Singh meant ruin. With downcast eyes, he silently turned towards the door… and left without saying a word.
Meanwhile, Kiran Ji's face was stunned for a few seconds… then the greedy smile returned.
"Five crores..." her lips murmured.
Kiran Ji's face showed surprise for a few seconds. Her mind seemed to be arguing with itself—
"A disabled boy... and in return for marriage, only responsibility... and here, an offer of five crores for a jinx!"
She muttered to herself,
"She was getting such a good price for that wretched girl… now wherever she goes, what do I care!"
The changing expressions on her face did not go unnoticed by Karuna Ji and Savita Ji. Karuna Ji's sharp eyes caught every greedy flicker. Savita Ji glanced at her mother-in-law… both their eyes held clear questions—"Can this woman truly become our daughter-in-law's mother?"
Despite this, Kiran composed herself. With a sweet smile, she bowed to Ranvijay Ji, Savita, and Karuna Ji,
"Please, do sit down…"
The three sat on the sofa without a word.
Kiran asked,
"Shall I bring tea or something cold?"
Savita Ji's face was serious. She replied directly,
"No, we don't need anything. We are here to ask for your daughter Tara's hand for our son Shaurya. If you could call Tara, we can proceed further."
As soon as Kiran heard this, the smile vanished from her face for a moment. Her mind started racing…
"Shaurya will never get better… my daughter is absolutely not suited for a boy like that."
But the people sitting in front of her were not ordinary. Then Kiran Ji said something that surprised all three of them.
So, what do you all think Kiran Ji might have said? Will Shaurya and Tara be ready for this marriage?
