Kanchan's picture was imprinted in Veer's eyes, and now he was ready to go to any extent to possess her.
Meanwhile, Kanchan, fleeing from there, took an auto, and after some time, the auto stopped in front of a house. Looking at the house, Kanchan wiped her tears and got down after paying the auto driver. Then she closed her eyes, and Veer's handsome face appeared before her. She opened her eyes in anger and, rubbing her lips, said,
"I have never seen such a rude man. He came and kissed me directly upon meeting. His mouth stank so much. If I had my way, I would never see that crazy man again, the scoundrel."
She adjusted her appearance and then knocked on the door. A woman opened the door.
"You cursed, dark-faced girl, where were you? Is this the time to come home? Tell me, with whom were you indulging in debauchery? Whose face are you darkening as you come? Speak, or not?"
The woman standing in front, her aunt, burst upon her as soon as she saw her. Kanchan was shocked by her words, wondering what wrong she had done for her aunt to say such vile things. When Kanchan did not reply, her aunt pulled her by her hair, dragged her inside, and pushing her onto the ground, said,
"Now speak, or I'll kill you! Who were you roaming with that you're coming home at this hour? With which lover were you enjoying yourself that you don't even remember to come home?"
Now Kanchan looked at her with tear-filled eyes and said with a heavy voice,
"Auntie, it's not what you think. I went for Uncle Ji's work, and it took time to return. I swear to God, I was not with any boy."
"You're lying, you scoundrel! Wait, I'll teach you a lesson." She roared in anger and, picking up a broom, started beating her, saying,
"You're swearing falsely to God! What do you think, you'll lie and I'll believe you? I'm not a fool like your uncle! I know you inside out, where and with whom you're whoring around under the guise of work, I know everything! I know you're probably wandering the streets with your lover so you don't have to work!"
She kept hitting her with the broom, and Kanchan, crying, could only say,
"Auntie, Mother's oath, I've never even looked at any boy. I was just delivering Uncle Ji's gift, and that's why it took so long. I'm not involved with any boy. If you don't believe me, ask Uncle Ji. I didn't delay on purpose. I'll do the work now, just don't hit me, it hurts a lot!"
She was begging them, crying miserably, but her aunt was a torturer, so her words had no effect on her. She kept hitting her. When she had had enough, she went into the room and, throwing a pile of clothes at her face, said,
"If I don't get these clothes washed in the next fifteen minutes, you won't get food today."
Near them stood two boys and a girl. The girl's name was Asha, and the boys were Ansh and Anil. All three were the children of Sulochana Ji and Jagdish Ji, and all three took after their mother. At Sulochana Ji's instruction, Kanchan wiped her tears and started picking up the clothes. Just then, Asha threw some clothes at her and said,
"Stitch these. I need all the clothes ready by tomorrow morning. I have to wear them to college tomorrow. If you can't stitch them, think that you'll never see the face of college again."
Here she paused. Seeing Sulochana Ji, the two boys said,
"Mom, we're hungry."
Hearing them, Sulochana Ji looked at Kanchan with hatred and said,
"First, make food. My children have been hungry for a long time. After that, the other two tasks should be completed."
Poor Kanchan swallowed her tears and, saying "Yes, Auntie," took all the clothes and left. She was beaten so badly that her body ached, but who was there to look at her? She somehow cut the vegetables and cooked them, then kneaded the dough to make rotis. In her haste, her hand got burned countless times, she let out sighs of pain, and tears streamed down her face, yet she silently kept cooking. After finishing the work there, she served food to both of them, then took the clothes and went to the terrace. Filling the water, she started washing all the clothes.
About an hour later, she came down after washing and drying all the clothes, wiping her face with her dupatta. Just then, someone knocked on the door. She looked at the time; it was eight o'clock. A smile bloomed on her lips; for the first time in so long, she smiled. It was a lovely smile. She went and opened the door, and seeing her, Jagdish Ji also smiled. He affectionately stroked her head and said,
"How is our child?"
"Perfectly fine," Kanchan said with a smile. Jagdish Ji's eyes fell on the injuries on her shoulder and arm, and his smile faded. He said in a pained voice,
"How do you smile after enduring so much? Your aunt raised her hand on you again today, didn't she?"
"I smile because I know that even if no one loves me, my Uncle Ji's life is in me. I can't make you sad by being sad myself, and besides, I have no complaints against anyone. Even in the beatings and scoldings of elders, their love is hidden, so I don't mind anything Auntie says. Don't you be sad either, wash your hands and face, I'll serve the food," Kanchan said in her sweet voice. Uncle Ji patted her head and left.
Kanchan wiped her tears before they could fall and went to the kitchen to get the food. She brought the food and water to the table in the hall. After some time, Uncle Ji came there. Kanchan served him food, and he asked her to eat too, but just then, Auntie arrived. She looked at Kanchan angrily, so Kanchan smiled and said,
"No, Uncle Ji, I'm not hungry right now. I'll eat later. You eat."
It wasn't that Uncle Ji didn't understand anything, but he couldn't do anything more than this. He ate one roti reluctantly and got up to leave. Kanchan finished her kitchen work and went to her room. It was a small room like a storeroom, with a bulb on one side, under which a sewing machine was placed. Kanchan touched her stomach; she was hungry, but she knew she wouldn't get food until the work was done, so she started cutting and stitching clothes.
Midnight passed, and with eyes heavy with sleep, she kept sewing. Just then, Uncle Ji arrived. He had a plate of food in his hand. Seeing him, Kanchan smiled and said,
"Why did you come? It's so late, go to sleep. I'll finish my work and eat myself."
"We know very well when your work ends and when you eat, so now come and eat without making any excuses. Until you eat, we don't feel peace, so how can we sleep? Come, we will feed our darling with our own hands."
Hearing his loving words, Kanchan's eyes welled up, but she said nothing. She got up and sat on the bed. A rug was spread on the floor, where she slept. Jagdish Ji also sat beside her and lovingly offered her a bite. Kanchan looked at him with moist eyes, and he wiped her tears and said,
"Our darling is very brave, isn't she? Then why these tears?"
"Sometimes I wonder what would have happened to me, an orphan, if you weren't here," Kanchan said with a heavy voice, and a few tears rolled down her cheeks, wetting them. Jagdish Ji set the food aside and, wiping her tears, said,
"If we weren't here, God would have arranged for our darling elsewhere. Perhaps you wouldn't be suffering like this there. Sometimes we think that by bringing you into this house, we made a big mistake. We wanted to give you a better life, but here you are living a life worse than hell, and we are responsible for your plight.
We took responsibility for you, but we couldn't give you the happiness we dreamed of. Now, our only hope is that your college finishes soon, you get a job as a designer in a good company, and you move away from this hell to live a good life. Then we will find a good boy and get you married, and you will live happily with your family.
In these old eyes, there is only one dream: that our child gets educated, stands on her own feet, finds a good home and family, and you go away from this house and these heartless people forever. Then they will value you, then they will realize what a diamond God has placed in their hands, which they haven't valued even a penny for. They say everyone reaps the fruits of their actions in this life. We also wish that God holds them accountable for all the injustice they have inflicted upon you. They must repay the debt for every tear of our child."
As he said this, his own eyes welled up. Kanchan, crying, hugged him tightly and said with a heavy voice,
"I don't hold you or anyone responsible for my situation. I consider myself fortunate that God gave me an Uncle Ji like you. You know, when you lovingly pat my head once, all my pain and suffering disappear. I have no complaints against anyone. I will definitely fulfill your dream, and you will see, I will get a good job, and then I will take you with me. Wherever I live, you will live there. I won't get married, Uncle. I want to stay with you like this forever."
"Alright, dear, you will always be with us. Now, let's eat; it's so late, you must be hungry." He lovingly patted her head, and she smiled and moved away from him to sit down. He also lovingly put a bite in her mouth, and Kanchan, while eating it, broke off a bite and offered it to him, saying,
"You haven't eaten your fill either. Come, eat with me now."
As she said this, she smiled, and Jagdish Ji also smiled and ate the bite. After some time, they both finished eating, then Uncle got up and said,
"Now, finish your work quickly and go to sleep. Don't stay awake all night."
Kanchan nodded with a smile, and they left. Kanchan sighed deeply and said,
"Tonight, I'll have to stay awake."
She got back to work. It was almost four in the morning when Kanchan finally got up from the chair. She glanced at the old clock hanging on the wall. At the same time, a helpless smile spread across her lips. She stretched her arms and legs and then lay down on the bed to straighten her back. She had only been lying down for five minutes when something struck her, and she suddenly opened her eyes.

Kanchi sat on her large bed, lost in the bitter and painful memories of her past. Suddenly, she heard a sweet voice, "Momma!"
This was the same voice that brought her out of her memories. She turned around and saw Veera sitting beside her, rubbing her small eyes and looking at her. Veera looked very cute, and her adorable face made Kanchi forget all her pain. The face that was filled with sorrow just a moment ago now had a sense of calm. She picked up Veera and sat her on her lap, kissing her cheek and smiling, "So, our baby woke up! But why are you up so early today?"
Veera smiled back at her, then kissed her cheek and said, "Today, Veera is going for a morning walk with Big D, so Veera woke up early. Veera wants to be strong like Big D, so now Veera will go for walks with him and exercise too."
Kanchi burst out laughing at Veera's words. She corrected her, "It's called exercise, beta."
Veera pouted, "Off, Momma! Baby said the same thing." Kanchi smiled and looked at her, then helped her get dressed. After brushing her teeth, Kanchi dressed Veera in a tracksuit and shoes, and they headed out of the room. In the living room, Shan was already dressed and ready to go. Veera, holding Kanchi's finger, walked towards him with her small steps.
Shan knelt down beside Veera and offered his cheek. Veera kissed it and smiled, saying, "Good morning, Big D! Look, today baby woke up early!"
Shan smiled and kissed her cheek, "Good morning, my dear! Today you woke up really early. We thought I would have to go alone today."
"No, Big D! Today Veera is going with you. Veera wants to be a big girl like you and strong too." Veera said with a smile, then pulled Kanchi's hand and said, "Momma, come down!"
Kanchi bent down, and Veera kissed her cheek, saying, "Momma, Veera will come back soon. You take care of yourself and don't be sad."
Kanchi's lips smiled at Veera's words. She was amazed by the understanding of a four-year-old girl and was filled with love for her daughter. She hugged Veera tightly, then let her go and bid her farewell. Veera held Shan's hand and walked out. Kanchi tied her long hair into a bun and headed to the kitchen to start her work.
A young girl, Maria, arrived at the house and greeted Kanchi with a smile, "Good morning, ma'am!" Kanchi replied with a smile and continued her work. Maria said with a hint of irritation, "Ma'am, this is my job. You do it every day, and if sir finds out, he'll get angry."
Kanchi looked at her and smiled, "Maria, do you think Shan doesn't know about this?"
Maria's lips had a faint smile as she replied, "Ma'am, why do you exhaust yourself doing all this work? You take care of Veera, make food, manage the house, go to the office, work all day, and then come back here to work again. I'm here, I can do it. You shouldn't trouble yourself so much; don't you get tired?"
Kanchi replied while making breakfast, "What's wrong with it? I've been used to doing all this work since the beginning. I enjoy doing it; it gives me a sense of satisfaction when I do things for Veera and Shan."
Maria said, "You're a very simple person. You don't seem like a big designer in Mumbai. You have no ego; you're just like an ordinary girl." Kanchi's face had a strange expression, and she said while making tea, "That's right, I'm an ordinary girl. What's there to be proud of? I'm not born into a rich family, so I don't have their ways. I'm a simple girl from a poor family who learned to find happiness in small things."
Maria asked hesitantly, "Ma'am, may I ask you something?" Kanchi, diving deep into her past, suddenly returned to the present and smiled, "You can ask me anything; you've been working here longer than I have. I've never seen you hesitate to ask or say something. Go ahead, what's on your mind?"
Maria expressed her confusion, "Ma'am, you live like you're married, you wear sindoor, and you have a mangalsutra. That means you're married, so where's your husband? I've seen you living alone since before Veera was born, and you always seem gloomy. You love Veera so much. If Veera is your and your husband's daughter, why doesn't he ever come to meet you or Veera? I don't think Veera is someone else's daughter because you're not that kind of person. So, what's the reason you never mention him? He never comes to see Veera even once. It's not possible for a father to be away from his daughter for so long. Your relationship with Shan sir seems like friendship. You've been living with him for years. Does your husband know about this? I mean, a normal man wouldn't tolerate this."
Kanchi's face was filled with pain as she listened to Maria's words. When Maria finished, Kanchi looked at the floor for a moment, then took a deep breath and said, "You said it right; I'm not the kind of girl who would have an affair with someone else's husband. I considered my husband as my everything, and even today, he's the one I love. Veera is a symbol of my devotion to him. I just couldn't tell him about it, and before I could, fate took me away from him. Look at my helplessness; despite loving him so much, I've been living without him for years. I wish I could go back to his life, but I can't. Veera is my life now, and I'll live with her as my symbol of love. As for Shan, he's a great person; he supported me when everyone had closed their doors for me. He's my friend, and I respect him. He saved my life and gave me a new identity. I'm grateful to him. If my husband ever finds out about my relationship with Shan, I'm sure he won't suspect me. There's nothing between us now; it's not like it affects him either. That's all I can tell you; just understand that it's fate's game, and I'm just a pawn. I'll happily face every test as long as God wants me to."
The two remained silent for a while. After some time, they heard Veera's voice, "Momma! Momma!" calling out for Kanchi. As soon as she heard Veera's voice, Kanchi's sadness disappeared, and a smile spread across her face.
She poured juice into one glass and milk into another, placed them on a tray, and headed out. But when she saw the scene outside, her eyes widened in shock.

"You are not my responsibility, you are my love, and as long as my breath lasts, I will always be with you. And whenever you need me, I will take you under my protection, I will take care of you with great love, and as long as I am here, I will never let anything happen to you. Keeping you happy is the purpose of my life."
Thinking all this, a sweet smile spread across Kanchan's lips. She was lost in those happy memories. Then she realized that all this was the past, which had gone by. None of this was true anymore. As soon as she faced this bitter truth, tears welled up in her eyes once again, and disappointment and pain took their place on her face.
Shan, who was watching her, saw her sadness. Placing his hand on her shoulder, he asked, "Are you fine?"
As soon as his question reached Kanchan's ears, she was jolted out of her world of thoughts. She wiped her tears, then put a fake smile on her lips and, looking at him, said, "Hmm, I'm absolutely fine, what's wrong with me? I was just thinking about your question. Do you know why I don't drive myself?"
Shan was looking at her with deep eyes. He didn't take even a second to recognize Kanchan's fake smile, but he also asked her, smiling, "I don't know, you tell me why you don't?"
To his question, Kanchan replied with a smile, "Because when I get a handsome driver like you for free, who the hell would let this opportunity slip through their hands?"
"Ooo, so you are trying to flirt with me?" Shan looked at her with a mischievous smile, but Kanchan's expression didn't change at all. She said, smiling the same way,
"No, I don't flirt, but it seems like you met another girl in the park again today. Has some girl fallen for our handsome guy again? If so, let me know too. And if you ask me, so many girls are crazy about you, so many keep visiting your hospital unnecessarily, just to get a good look at such a handsome doctor. So many doctors are smitten with you. Choose a decent girl from among them and marry her, it would be better to settle down with a doctor than a patient, you both can keep treating each other."
Saying this, she burst out laughing. Seeing her innocent laughter, Shan's restless heart found solace. He was just looking at her with a gentle smile on his lips. After laughing for a while, Kanchan smiled and continued, "Now tell me, who has proposed to you that you are insisting on bribing Veera to keep quiet?"
Hearing her, Shan smiled and said, "You always understand, don't you? How do you know? All my efforts go in vain every time. How do you find out everything?"
"I just know. You probably don't know how amazing my observing power is. Just by looking at your face, I understand that some girl has fallen for you again today, and she must have said something that you don't want to tell me." Kanchan looked at him with a mischievous smile once again. Seeing Kanchan happy again, a sweet smile spread across Shan's lips, but hearing his question, he pretended to be sad and said,
"What can I do, man? No matter how much I stay away from these girls, someone or the other always comes along. Now how do I explain to them that I have no interest in them, not even an iota, and never will? One cannot give one's heart to someone else when it has already been given to someone else, can they?"
Hearing him, Kanchan's smile vanished. Her eyes widened as she looked at him in surprise and said, "My heart has already been given to someone else? What does that mean? Do you like someone already? If so, why haven't you told me anything? And if you love someone, why aren't you marrying her? Who is that lucky girl whom you have hidden even from me?"
Now Kanchan started glaring at him with anger. Seeing her anger, a big smile spread across Shan's lips. He pulled her puffed cheeks and said, "You know her already, and that too very well."
Hearing him, Kanchan's eyes widened once again. She looked at him in surprise, so Shan continued, "That girl is very cute, very beautiful too, just like a princess, and I love her very, very, very much, and that girl is my 4-year-old princess and your only daughter Veera, in whom not only your life but my life also resides."
He finished speaking with a smile. As soon as she heard him, Kanchan's expression changed completely. At first, she looked at him with confusion, and then as soon as she understood what he meant, she snatched her hand away and said irritably, "Get away, I thought you actually liked someone, but you were just making fun of me."
Seeing her puffed cheeks and angry face, Shan burst out laughing, and said while laughing, "It's your fault. I have already told you that I don't want to get married, I am not interested in any girl. For me, Veera is my world. Still, you asked me that ridiculous question, so you were bound to get an answer like this."
"Tell me one thing truthfully today, you are straight, aren't you?" Kanchan asked, raising her eyebrows. Shan's smile disappeared. He lightly hit her on the head and said, "Go and get your mind treated, it's gone bad. Because I am absolutely straight. Just because I don't like any girl doesn't mean you can start thinking and saying anything nonsensical."
Her face was worth seeing at that moment. When Kanchan saw his face, she burst out laughing, which annoyed Shan even more. He turned his face away in displeasure and focused all his attention on driving. Kanchan laughed for a while watching his face, then fell silent and looking at him, smiled and said, "Okay, now don't sulk. You said it in such a way that it slipped out of my mouth, but I swear I don't think anything like that about you."
Kanchan made an innocent face and touched her throat. Shan looked at her and, seeing her innocent face, he smiled gently. Seeing him smile, Kanchan also smiled, and they started talking. After some time, the car stopped in front of an office, which read "V&K Fashions." This was where Kanchan worked. She was the owner of this fashion house, and it was the result of her years of hard work that V&K Fashions had a distinct identity in Mumbai.
When Kanchan got out, Shan said goodbye to her and drove away. Kanchan also headed inside, and at this moment, a smile of peace spread across her lips. Meanwhile, about 15 minutes away from here was Shan's own hospital, where he also worked. He was also a well-known doctor in Mumbai, and his hospital also had a distinct name there. Shan also reached the hospital and got busy with his work.
"She probably doesn't know Veer Pratap Singh. To date, no one has dared to say no to me, and she has the audacity to refuse me. It seems I'll have to handle her my own way now." Veer's face was red with anger.
To be continued...
In a large, luxurious villa in the Greater Kailash area of South Delhi, within a well-appointed room, a man sat on a large king-size bed, seemingly lost in deep thought. Suddenly, his phone rang. The screen displayed the name "Neeraj." Upon seeing the name, he picked up the phone without any expression and said in a stern voice, "Speak."
"Good morning sir, sir, I'm calling to inform you that Miss Janila has rejected our proposal."
Hearing this from the other end, his eyebrows furrowed. Anger and resentment were clearly visible on his face. His cold gaze could give anyone a heart attack. He said angrily,
"She probably doesn't know Veer Pratap Singh. To this day, no one has dared to say no to me; how dare she refuse me. It seems I'll have to handle her in my own way now."
"No sir, I don't think we should contact her. Lately, she's been spending a lot of time with Miss Maya; rumors of their friendship are all over the place. As far as I know from our sources, Miss Maya is behind Miss Janila's refusal. Ever since you broke our contract with them midway, she's been looking for an opportunity to get back at you, and now she's instigating you by doing all this.
If you do anything at this time, your and our company's image could be tarnished. We have to launch our new brand this month. If anything goes wrong at this time, it will directly affect our exhibition. Therefore, we should remain calm for now. Besides, we have better models than Miss Janila. We or our company don't need her."
Frightened by his anger, Neeraj, who was Veer's assistant, said all this in one breath and then began to pray, as he was well aware of Veer's temper. Veer listened to him and remained silent for a moment, deeply contemplating his words.
After all, his words seemed right to him. He had numerous showrooms across India, where dresses, costumes, etc., designed by his company were sold, and Aradhya Fashions was quite renowned in India. Not only affluent people shopped there, but film costume orders also came to his company. His designers were very famous, and his designs were even more so. And now he was expanding his business and venturing into the world of jewelry. The opening ceremony of his jewelry showrooms was scheduled for the next month, with showrooms to be opened simultaneously in different corners of the country, for which all preparations were complete.
Only the shooting work remained to commence the advertising. For that, he was looking for new faces, and if anything went wrong at this time, it was obvious that it would affect his work. Thinking this, Veer calmed his anger and said in a commanding voice, "Alright, I'll come to the office and talk to you about this."
With that, he cut the call and said, grinding his teeth in anger, "Maya!"
His eyes were red with anger. Then, something came to his wicked mind, and a crooked smile spread across his lips. He said to himself, "You dared to cross me, now let's see what I do to you."
He did something on his phone, then with a wicked smile, he placed the phone on the table and went into the bathroom with his clothes. After a while, he got ready and left the house. His large black car, which looked very expensive, sped along the roads. It was morning, so there wasn't much traffic either. About half an hour later, his car stopped in front of a large gate, on which a big board read "Aradhya Fashions."
Inside, there was a beautiful five-story building. The office, made with glass walls, looked extremely unique and beautiful. Veer stopped his car at the outer gate, as it was closed. Seeing the car, the watchman raised his hand and said, "Salute, sir," but Veer merely glanced at him, offering no reply. His cold aura was enough to chill anyone to the bone.
How could a person's face be so stern, but whatever you say, he was exceedingly handsome. That arrogance suited him. What a commanding personality he had! A well-built physique, deep black eyes, long lashes, a slender nose that flared with anger, thin pink lips, milky white complexion; anyone who saw him once would fall for him. That's why millions of girls were infatuated with him. Only anger reflected in those deep black eyes. His mere gaze frightened the watchman. He quickly opened the gate, and Veer's car sped inside.
He stopped the car in the parking lot, stepped out, adjusted his coat, then took out his black shades, put them on his eyes, and strode inside. Now his personality looked even more lethal. His face, filled with anger, looked even more attractive. His hair was styled beautifully with gel. In his fitted black clothes, the contours of his well-built physique were visible. His cold aura set him apart from everyone else. Wearing black sunglasses, he looked even more attractive. He entered the gate with long strides, and as soon as the receptionist saw him, she stood up and bowed, wishing him good morning.
Veer just glanced at her and moved on. From behind, the receptionist made a face as she watched him go and said,
"I don't know what the sir's problem is! He's always so angry, as if someone snatched his girlfriend or ran away with all his wealth. For one, he doesn't smile or laugh himself, and here, his mouth only opens to shout. He always has anger simmering in his nostrils. That's why he doesn't have a girlfriend.
Certainly, after spending one night with him, girls realize that he's not easy to handle, and that's why sir is seen with a new girl every day. Who knows whose fate will be sealed, and she'll marry this walking attitude shop. Poor thing, she'll be banging her head all her life, wondering where she found such a stubborn husband."
The receptionist returned to her work. Meanwhile, Veer reached the elevator and pressed the button for the 10th floor. He was alone in the elevator at that moment. After a while, the elevator stopped at the 7th floor, and he stepped out and moved inside. As he walked further, all the employees stood up to greet him, but he didn't reply to any of them; he just looked at them and moved on. He stopped in front of a cabin, on which was written "CEO's Cabin Office." He opened the door and went inside.
As soon as Veer sat down in his cabin, there was a knock on his cabin door. Veer turned on the laptop in front of him and said, "Come in." With that, the door opened, and Neeraj stepped inside. Veer also looked up at him, and Neeraj quickly handed him a file, saying,
"Sir, these are pictures of some new models that our marketing team has shortlisted. According to them, whoever you finalize from these models will be ready to be a part of our promotion program, and they are all suitable for our product, so please take a look. If you like anyone."
Poor Neeraj hesitantly finished his sentence, then looked at him with anxious eyes, but Veer's expression didn't change at all. The same cold, frightening look, the same staring eyes, clenched lips, and flared nostrils. But Veer was listening to him silently. When Neeraj finished speaking, Veer took the file from his hand and said, "I'll look at them, but before that, you'll have to do one thing for me."
"Yes sir, tell me."
Veer looked up at him and, without any expression, told and explained something to him for a while. Veer's face showed no emotion, but as Neeraj listened, the expression on his face kept changing. He was waiting for Veer to finish speaking because he knew that people who interrupted Veer were not liked at all.
After a while, as soon as Veer finished, Neeraj nervously said, "Sir, that's all fine, but what's the need for all this? I mean, if we do as you've said, your name could be tarnished in the market, and it could also affect the business."
"You don't need to worry about all this. I've thought of everything. Whatever I'm going to do today, if anyone's name gets tarnished in the market, it will be Miss Maya. If anyone's reputation is shredded in front of the media and the whole world, it will be Maya. How dare she cross me? Since she's committed such a big crime, she'll have to face the punishment now.
Today she will know what the consequence of crossing Veer Pratap Singh is. You just do as I've said; everything must happen according to my plan. After what I'm going to do today, no one will dare to cross me again. She made a mistake, so now she'll have to bear the consequences."
What could the poor Neeraj say, and what was the point of saying anything? Veer was stubborn, proud, and arrogant. He was going to do whatever his heart desired, so the poor fellow nodded in agreement and left. Veer then focused on the file.

Kanchan said to Varsha, "Ma'am, you are so beautiful, has no one ever proposed to you? How does it feel when someone is crazy about you, follows you around? Honestly, I really enjoy it when he takes care of me. Even if I act upset in a play, he tries so hard to appease me! He makes me feel very special. Ma'am, you are married, aren't you? He must take care of you too, right? He must indulge all your tantrums. You are even more beautiful than me."
"He must love you a lot, right? To be honest, I want to see Sir just once, to know who is so lucky to have found a kind-hearted, fairy-like girl like you. But Ma'am, you've never even mentioned Sir, nor have I ever seen him. I've met Shan Sir too. Doesn't Sir live here?"
She was talking non-stop with joy. She asked Kanchan questions and waited for the answers. At her question, Kanchan, who was lost in Veer's thoughts, saw the smile fading from her face. An unspoken pain emerged on her face, but she replied with a smile.
"No, he doesn't live here. You're right, he loved me a lot. He used to keep me on his eyelids. He would fulfill my every wish without any complaint. To bring a smile to my lips, he would do things beyond my imagination. He would indulge all my tantrums, but never even sigh. I made him suffer a lot, just for a 'yes' from me. I made him chase me because I didn't believe in love, but he loved me so much that he made me his. He awakened the feeling of love in my heart too, but I didn't value him. We are not together anymore. I had to move away from him for personal reasons. Now he must hate me."
Drops of tears began to shimmer in her eyes. Pain was evident in her words, hearing which Varsha's smile also faded. She said sadly, "Sorry, Ma'am."
"It's okay. You don't need to say sorry. You haven't done anything wrong. I made the mistake, and I am paying for it. You don't need to feel bad for me. I am happy in my life. If you give me permission, I would like to tell you something," Kanchan said with a smile. Hearing her, Varsha also replied with a smile,
"Ma'am, you are like an elder sister to me. You can tell me anything with full right, without asking for my permission."
"If someone loves you truly, you shouldn't make them suffer too much, otherwise, a time comes when we also long for love like them. So, if he loves you truly, marry him. And don't make any mistake like I did. If he loves you truly, never leave him, always support him. No matter what, don't let your love be tarnished. True love is very hard to find for the lucky ones, it should be cherished. I don't want you to regret like me tomorrow, that's why I'm saying this. Marry him and after that, support him at every turn of life."
"Love has great strength; with its support, one can overcome the biggest storms and move forward, but living even a moment without love is very difficult. So, if he proposes to you today, say yes and hold his hand, then no matter what happens, never leave his side." A strange emptiness flickered across Kanchan's face, as if she was regretting a mistake she made years ago.
Understanding her pain, Varsha said very seriously, "I will always remember your words and won't make him suffer anymore."
Varsha continued, "And I have one more thing to say. As far as I've known you over the years, I can confidently say that even if you did something wrong in the past and broke your relationship yourself, your will wouldn't have been involved. There must have been a reason, some compulsion, that forced you to take that step, because you are a straightforward girl with a pure heart."
"The pain reflecting on your face is screaming that even though you are away from Sir, your heart still beats for him, and from your words, I feel that Sir also loved you a lot. I don't know much about love, but I can definitely say that love, even after enduring the trials of time, never ends. No matter how deep the hatred, love always overcomes it. As you said that Sir hates you now, I don't think you are right, because it's impossible for us to hate someone we love immensely, even if we want to."
"Maybe Sir is upset with you, but that displeasure can be removed with love. You yourself said just now that if someone loves you truly, we should hold their hand. Love itself gives the strength to fight every difficulty. I don't know what your compulsion was, but I can say that Sir truly loves you. Try trusting him once and telling him about your compulsion. Perhaps everything will be okay between you and him."
"That can never happen. It is better to forget some things. Because if we remember them, they give us nothing but pain. After what I did, nothing can ever be right, so I cannot give myself more pain by giving myself false hope. He has moved far ahead in his life. It is no longer possible for him to return to me, nor am I worthy of him. It is better for him and me to stay away from each other. So, there's no need to worry about me. However I am, I am happy with my life. And now, I am even happier in your happiness. You just forget your past and start a beautiful life." Kanchan finished speaking with a smile.
Hearing her, Varsha said with a smile, "Ma'am, fate can separate two lovers, but it doesn't break their bond. The power of their love compels fate to bend. Even if it takes time for them to reunite, they do meet. Even if you don't wish it, if fate wills it and your and Sir's love is true, you two will surely reunite, and I will sincerely pray that just as God has given me my love, He also reunites you with yours, and you learn to smile openly again. I will wait for the day when I see a genuine smile on your face, and I do wish to see Sir. Now I must go. I have a lot of work to do, and I have to go home early today, so I need to finish all my tasks before then."
She smiled and left.
A moisture glistened in Kanchan's eyes, sadness and pain spread across her face. She rested her head against the chair and closed her eyes. A few tears rolled down her cheeks from her closed eyes. Her past flashed before her eyes once again.

"You said you wouldn't take us to any isolated place, so what's the point of bringing us here?"
Her voice reflected mild displeasure and anger. As soon as Veer's ears registered her voice, his forward steps halted. He turned to look at her, but Kanchan wasn't scared; she met his gaze steadfastly. Veer glanced at both of them, then turned back towards the lift and said,
"Alright, let's go down to the restaurant area and talk in front of everyone; I have no problem, but perhaps you'll find it awkward. However, if you don't mind talking in front of them, then I don't have a problem either."
Hearing his words, Kanchan’s breath caught; she stared at him, mouth agape, but didn't move a step forward. Janvi, holding her hand, also stood there, watching Veer leave in astonishment. When Veer realized he was walking ahead alone, he turned back, then raised an eyebrow at Kanchan and said, "What happened? Come on, let's talk in front of everyone."
Hearing him, Kanchan clenched her fists; her face turned red with anger. She thought to herself, "I feel like pulling out all your hair, beating your bald head like a drum, and taking out those big, scary eyes to play marbles with. You rude man, how you're trying to show off your authority! But it's my helplessness that I can't do anything right now."
After venting all her frustrations in her mind, Kanchan controlled her anger, then gritted her teeth and said, "Do what you want to do; you'll make a spectacle of me in front of everyone downstairs. Anyway, I don't want to go anywhere with you. I don't want anyone to see me, otherwise, nothing will happen to you, but mud will be slung at my reputation, and I don't want that to happen."
Veer smirked at her words, then walked back towards the gate of the large room on that floor.
It wasn't just one room; a large designer suite had been created across the entire floor, which felt no less than a royal palace. There were three rooms; in the center was a large living room; it was a well-furnished VIP lounge; the floor, drenched in black and white, was adorned with many antique items. The floor looked distinct and special, and it was evident from its appearance that millions had been spent lavishly on its creation. Everything looked beautiful and special, as if it had been custom-made for that very place.
Kanchan and Janvi stared at everything with wide eyes. Veer stopped outside the large gate of the room; he took out his room card and swiped it, and the automatic door opened instantly. Veer then turned and looked back; both of them were looking around in utter astonishment. Some emotions flickered across Veer's face. Looking at them both, he said, "Come inside."
Hearing his voice, both of them looked at him startled, and Veer gestured them to go inside with his eyes. First, they looked at him, then at each other, and after exchanging a few gestures with their eyes, they moved inside. Veer also came in and closed the door, to which Kanchan nervously said, "Hey, why did you close the door?"
Veer turned and looked back; both of them were standing about three steps away from the gate, looking at him with astonishment and panicked eyes. Veer answered her question emotionlessly, "I won't talk to you after opening my own room. I don't want anyone to interfere in what I'm about to discuss with you. Don't worry, I just need to talk to you; you are safe here, and I'm not interested in your friend anyway, so she doesn't need to be scared."
Hearing him, Janvi stared at him with wide eyes, while Kanchan also looked at him with her mouth agape in surprise. Veer paid no attention to either of them and, as he walked further inside after speaking, said, "Follow me."
When his commanding voice reached the ears of both friends, they finally snapped back to reality. Kanchan's face turned red with anger, wondering how he could order her around, but what choice did she have but to obey him? Janvi placed her hand on her shoulder, and Kanchan looked towards her.
Janvi gestured for her to relax and, holding her hand, started walking behind Veer. Kanchan, cursing the moment in her mind when she had accidentally bumped into Veer, followed her, now that he was relentlessly pursuing her.
Veer stopped in the largest room of the expansive executive lounge, where only shades of gray were visible everywhere. The room, saturated in gray, was extremely luxurious. A king-size bed, covered with a gray sheet; from the curtains to the wall paint, everything was gray, yet the room looked incredibly beautiful.
Veer then turned and looked at both of them, then, looking at Janvi, began to speak, "You wait in the other room; I need to talk to Kanchan alone."
Hearing his commanding voice, both girls looked at him, startled once again. Hearing him, both of them became a little worried and looked at each other. Veer saw their anxious faces and said a bit more calmly, "Don't worry, I'll return your friend to you safe and sound, in one piece. I just need five minutes, and that too, in private."
Kanchan was still looking at him, appearing worried.
After hearing him, Janvi first looked at him, then at Kanchan. Seeing her distressed, Janvi gestured Kanchan to remain calm, then released her hand and exited the room. Kanchan watched her go with pleading eyes.

At last, Veer fell silent. Kanchan pulled her palm away from his hand. Veer was looking at her, but there was no expression on Kanchan’s face. She stood up, composed herself, and said calmly,
"You've said all you had to say, and I've listened to everything you said peacefully. Now I should leave."
She finished speaking and turned to go. But before she could take a step, her feet stopped; her wrist was once again in Veer’s grip. As soon as Veer saw her leaving, he grabbed her wrist to stop her. The moment he touched her, Kanchan’s face turned red with anger. She composed herself once again and said calmly,
"Let go of my hand; I've heard you, and now I need to leave."
"I told you the feelings of my heart, and you're leaving without giving me any answer. You cannot leave from here until I want you to; so, quietly answer first, and then, if I wish, you can leave." This time, there was no softness in his voice; a proud, commanding voice fell upon Kanchan’s ears, which only increased her anger. The anger she had been trying to suppress now erupted. She turned towards him and said, fuming,
"Why can't I leave from here? And who are you to order me around? Why should I listen to you? I am not your slave, that I’ll get up when you say so, and sit when you say so. I will do what my heart desires, and I want to leave from here and get away from you right now, and I will leave from here; you cannot force me to stay."
"You have no idea what I can do; that’s why you’re saying all this. I can do anything if I want; I can keep you with me forever, and you won’t be able to stop me. But I don’t want to force you; that’s why I told you very lovingly that I have fallen in love with you, but perhaps you mistook my love for my weakness and started taking me lightly.
You still don’t know me; my name is Veer Pratap Singh; Singh means lion, and I have never learned to bow down to anyone; yet for my love, I bowed down before you. But this does not mean you should take me so lightly. Listen carefully to one thing; you cannot even move from here until I wish; let alone leave, and until you say yes to me, I won't let you go; so answer me calmly."
Veer had now returned to his cold, businessman persona; his cold aura was enough to convey his stature, and he could go to any extent to get his way.
Kanchan was not affected by him one bit. She snatched her hand away from his grip with anger, her palm freed from his hold, and shouted,
"What does it matter to me who you are and who you aren't. If I wish, I will walk out of here right in front of you, and you won't be able to stop me, but I won't do that. You want an answer, right? Then listen. What did you say that you fell in love with me at first sight, but I have no love for you. In fact, after that incident of yours, if there is anyone in this world I hate the most, it is you. Did you hear? I hate you; just the thought of you makes me angry. If any touch disgusts me, it is you.
I don't love you, nor can I ever. I would rather commit suicide than love a despicable person like you. Did you hear? I don't love you. You have your answer; now never dare to follow me again. I hate you so much that I don't even want to see your face. If you ever follow me again or try to do anything silly, or try to test your power on me, I will file a complaint with the police that you are harassing me, and if you think the police won't do anything against your power and you will have me, then you are absolutely wrong, because even if the police bow down to you, I will not kneel before you.
If you try to force me, I will end myself, and you will be responsible for my death. What did you say that you can't even stand a single tear in my eyes? So think, will you be able to see me die before your own eyes?
Mr. Veer Pratap Singh, now listen carefully to this one thing; Kanchan Rana is not a purchasable item, nor is she a commodity that caught your eye and you started dreaming of possessing her. I am a living human being, and I prefer to live my life on my own terms; I am a simple girl who wants to spend her life peacefully and for which I work day and night; there is no place for words like love in my life; I cannot love you, let alone anyone else, and after that incident of yours, I have started hating even the thought of you.
I cannot forgive the person who kissed me without my consent; I cannot trust you, nor am I interested in you. I don't love you, and I can confidently say that you won't love me either. You have a good face, you seem wealthy; there must be no shortage of girls for you, so why would you love an ordinary girl like me? Yes, I must have hurt your ego yesterday by talking to you like that, how an ordinary, average-looking girl insulted you, so you came here with this drama of love to trap me, to take revenge.
But Mr. Veer Pratap Singh, your plan has failed because I have not fallen into your trap. Whether you love me or not is your problem; it has nothing to do with me or you, so stay away from me and my life."
She said everything in anger, then started running away from there. But as she turned the other way, she closed her eyes and thought, "God, please let me get out of here; what will I do if he doesn't let me go? I said it, but the truth is that I am nothing in front of him; he can do anything, and I can't do anything. Just let me get out of here; after that, I won't ask you for anything."
She continued to walk forward, praying to God in her mind, but her heart was anxious that Veer might stop her again. But Veer stood silently watching her go; a mysterious, devilish smile spread across his lips. Kanchan quickly exited the room, and found Janvi sitting in the hall. As soon as Janvi saw Kanchan, she came to her. But before Kanchan could say anything, she grabbed her hand and said, "Don't ask anything now; let's get out of here first, and then I'll tell you everything."
At her words, Janvi didn't ask any questions; both of them quickly left the place; as they left, Veer also left from there. Veer's silence made Kanchan think that she had escaped his pursuit, but what plan was brewing in his mind now, only he knew, and looking at him, it didn't seem like he would let Kanchan go so easily. His eyes showed a passion to possess Kanchan; obviously, he was going to do something, but what, will be revealed later.
