Goa's Mafia King and a Knight Club Owner's Spoiled Son. A Love Story!

    Athena, Night Club

It was nighttime when a twenty-five-year-old young man was rushing out of the club, having just exited the elevator, when someone blocked his path. "Boss, some college kids are fighting."

"Then why are you telling me instead of handling them? What are the bouncers for?" The young man was none other than Mark, the club's owner.

"We can't handle it, boss. Please, before something happens, you come." A man working in the club said, and Mark got agitated. He had somewhere urgent to be.

"Do this, call the police. This is a daily affair with these people now. If one or two of them get a good beating, everyone will fall in line." Mark ordered the man and went to catch a glimpse of the fight.

Two groups were clashing. Mark pushed his way through with difficulty and reached the middle. Before the boy could land a punch on the opponent, Mark grabbed his hand and stopped him.

The boy's face turned cold. In anger, he wanted to see who had dared to stop him. But as soon as he saw Mark, his hand loosened. His expression also changed.

As the boy stopped, peace spread from the other side as well. Everyone had stopped in their place. Mark pushed the first boy back and warned everyone, "If you want to come here, leave your attitude outside. This isn't your father's house to do as you please. Security, hold them until the police arrive."

Everyone's eyes widened. The first boy, still lost after being pushed, immediately came to his senses and said, "Please, don't do this, Mark."

Mark suddenly turned towards him, and the next moment his face turned red with anger. "Vikas Mehra? Who let him in?"

The boy, Vikas, flinched slightly. The security guards lowered their heads. Seeing this, Mark's anger intensified. He cast a cold glance at his staff and said, "I'll deal with you people later."

Saying this, he quickly pushed through the crowd and left. The boys, hearing the name of the police, tried to leave as soon as Mark left, but all the exit routes were blocked.

Leaving the club, Mark went straight to City Hospital. He inquired about someone at the reception, after which he immediately went searching for them and his steps halted. In front of the doctor stood a boy of his own age, holding a newborn baby in his arms. Another three-year-old child stood holding his leg.

"Rishu!" Mark called out to him and saw Rishabh standing numbly. As his steps faltered, Mark caught Rishabh as well as the baby. The baby's cries echoed through the corridor.

Seeing Mark, the doctor repeated his words, "Sorry Mr. Dixit! We can't save your wife. She has very little time left, meet her one last time."

Mark was also stunned to hear this. "What... what are you saying, doctor? Save her, no matter what it takes."

The doctor lowered his head. "We tried our best, the situation is beyond our control."

The doctor looked up slightly and raised his hands as if to say this was God's will. Then he left them alone.

"Dead... What happened to Mommy? Where is she?" the three-year-old child asked, lifting his face. But he received no answer from Rishabh.

Mark, with difficulty, sat Rishabh on a bench and, looking at the three-year-old child, said, "Rishi baby! Stay with Dad, okay? I'll go meet your Mommy."

Rishi nodded his head like a good boy, and Mark, carrying the newborn baby in his lap, reached the ward where Rishabh's wife, Rushali Dixit, was breathing her last.

As the baby's cry reached her ears, Rushali slightly opened her eyes, looked at him, and tears welled up in her eyes. Mark immediately wiped her tears and said, "This foolish Rishabh has gone mad with the joy of having a baby, that's why he hasn't come inside."

Rushali said with a weak smile, "I know why he hasn't come inside. My time to go has come, hasn't it? He probably can't bear it. He can't handle himself."

"Don't say that, Rushali. Nothing will happen to you," Mark said with difficulty, his voice choked. Rushali and Rishabh were his old and very close friends. Mark was the one who had eloped with them and arranged their marriage.

"Will you promise me something?" Rushali said in a low voice and extended her hand.

Mark immediately held her hand. "You... you shouldn't talk too much, and look at this baby! He looks exactly like Rishu, doesn't he? Now he won't complain that his child only resembles you."

Rushali nodded and said, "I'm sorry Mark! Because of me, your love could not be fulfilled. But even then, you stood by us every moment with your broken heart. Perhaps Rishhu's and my journey was only till here. From today, he is yours. I am leaving him and the children in your care. Will you look after them?"

"What... what nonsense are you talking?" Mark's eyes welled up. "He loves you very much. Don't talk about leaving him. How will he live without you? How will the children be? They need you."

"That's why I am leaving everyone in your care. My love is nothing compared to yours because it didn't include sacrifice. Give as much as you love. Become a wife if needed, a mother if needed. Otherwise, I will be happy just seeing my family happy. So promise me, you will do this for me. I swear by our friendship! I swear by your love!" Rushali said, her breath becoming heavy.

Mark lowered his head, and Rushali smiled and looked at her baby once. "Name him Rohan. I had decided that long ago."

As tears streamed down Mark's eyes, Rushali lovingly stroked Rohan's head and tried to hold him close. Mark moved him forward, and Rushali kissed his forehead. "Will you ask Rishu to talk to me one last time?"

"You won't say anything about me," Mark said, and Rushali nodded slightly. Keeping the baby near her, Mark stepped back and went to call Rishabh.

As he left, Rushali said in a low voice, "Have you forgotten, Mark, that I never listened to anyone? I won't listen today either."

A while later, the sounds of Rishabh's loud crying from the ward reached Mark outside. Rishi clung to Mark in fear. Mark's tears also started to flow again. Perhaps, perhaps Rushali had truly left everyone in his care.

Dixit Mansion felt very empty after Rushali left.

The only sound in the house was the loud crying of a child.

In the hall of the house, a diya was burning in front of Rushali's photograph, and Rishabh was sitting there, holding Rohan in his lap.

The child was crying so much, but Rishabh's attention was elsewhere. There were no tears left for crying.

"Rishabh, what are you doing? At least pay attention to the child?" Mark said with mild annoyance.

It was as if Rishabh hadn't heard him.

Sighing coldly, Mark took Rohan into his lap and started feeding the child with the milk bottle he had brought.

When Rohan's crying stopped suddenly, Mark remembered, "Where is Rishabh?"

When he didn't get a response from Rishabh, Mark suppressed his anger.

Due to crying so much, Rohan fell asleep in Mark's lap while drinking milk. Mark took him upstairs to a room.

Rushali had probably made all the preparations for the child's arrival beforehand. She had even decorated the cradle.

After laying Rohan in it, Mark quietly stepped back and said, "Sweet dreams, baby."

Rohan looked very cute while sleeping. He was an exact replica of Rishabh. Seeing him, Mark couldn't stop himself from smiling.

Suddenly, he remembered Rishabh and quickly went out of the room.

He went downstairs and started calling out for Rishabh.

In the meantime, he had passed by Rishabh twice, but Rishabh had not reacted.

Mark grumbled angrily, "This is your way. If I'm here, you put everything on me. If I wasn't here, what would you have done? How would you have managed the children? You just had them, don't you have any responsibility?"

He was speaking in a voice that Rishabh could hear as he wandered around.

Rishabh blinked slowly and, without saying anything, got up from his place and started walking towards the gallery at the back of the house.

Mark's eyes narrowed, "What? Where are you going now?"

When Rishabh didn't reply, Mark followed him.

Rishabh saw Rishabh huddled behind a large planter.

He went and knelt in front of Rishabh, "Rishabh!"

Hearing the voice, Rishabh brought out his face, hidden in his knees.

With his own hand, the little child had given fire to his mother.

How could he not be sad? Although he was very young, he understood enough that his mother was gone and would never return.

"Where did Mommy go, Daddy?" Rishabh suddenly hugged Rishabh and said.

Rishabh let out a cold sigh and said with great difficulty, "Mommy has gone to God."

"Will she never come back?" Rishabh asked the next question.

But Rishabh had no answer now. He picked up Rishabh and went inside the house.

In the meantime, he passed by Mark, but he behaved as if Mark wasn't there at all.

Mark's forehead creased, "What happened to him? What is he angry at me for? Is it because I scolded him about managing the child?"

The very next moment, he pulled his hair and went after Rishabh to pacify him.

This boy had strange tantrums. One couldn't tell when he would be fine and when he would be angry.

Rishabh ate a little of the food made by Mark, which was quite difficult for him. Finally, Rishabh took Rishabh to his room and put him to sleep, where Rohan was already sleeping.

As soon as Rishabh turned back, Mark was in front of him.

"Rishabh, are you angry?" Mark felt it was most important to pacify him. Always!

Rishabh paid no attention to him. He wanted to go freshen up, but Mark blocked his way.

Rishabh let out a cold sigh and said, "Mark, go back to your club. I don't need you. You don't need to do anything for me and then hold it over me again."

Mark's face turned dark. He suddenly gripped Rishabh's arms tightly, "What did you say? You don't need me?"

Rishabh squeezed his eyes shut in pain, and Mark immediately let go.

"I'm not doing you any favor. You and Rushali are both my best friends. My friend made me promise that I would take care of all three of you. That's why I'm not going anywhere from here," Mark explained directly. He just didn't want a fight. Otherwise, he wasn't behind in getting angry.

"Friends? Why are you tarnishing this relationship? Have you ever fulfilled your friendship from your side? You just became great by sacrificing," Rishabh said with a sarcastic smile.

Mark's throat went dry. The next moment, he grabbed Rishabh's hand, led him to the balcony, and closed the door, "So Rushali told you everything?"

"Yes, she told me everything, and now I understand that your constant flirting was not a joke. You felt for me. Always? Unbelievable!" Rishabh said in slight anger.

"Listen Rishabh, don't try to mess with my head by blaming me. I've stayed within my limits. If Rushali had any problem with me, she would have told me to stay away from you earlier. But she never did. Because she trusted you more than me.

Whatever love or liking it is, it's my problem. It didn't bother you before, and it won't bother you in the future. After today, I will be careful and stay away from you. Just let me stay here for the children. Because if I leave them to you, who knows what you'll do," Mark finished in one breath. He didn't want Rishabh to misunderstand him or hate him.

Then Rishabh said, "I didn't intend to say all this. I... I have no problem with our friendship. We can continue to be as we were before. But I can't do what Rushali said. I just love her. You are my friend, Mark. I don't have those kinds of feelings for you."

Mark stopped him with a hand gesture, "I know that very well. There's no need to explain now. Forget whatever Rushali said, and don't force yourself.

I know that after knowing my feelings, you won't be able to be with me as before. Maybe you even feel disgusted by me?"

"No... no, not at all. Please don't think anything," Rishabh extended his hand towards him.

But Mark took a step back, "I don't care what you think. I'm not going anywhere from here. Go eat something and sleep downstairs. I'm with the children."

Mark said and returned to the room. Rishabh watched him with empty eyes.

It was morning when Rohan's crying had started once again. Managing two children without Rushali was truly a difficult task. But Rishabh had taken the responsibility of one, so Mark was able to focus all his attention on Rohan. In the meantime, he didn't care that his attention had completely shifted away from the club for the first time. Mark had no idea what was happening there.

He was sitting in the hall when a voice came from the door, "Can we come in?"

Mark had a milk bottle in his hand. Talking to Rohan, he was trying to feed him. Suddenly his eyes went cold when he saw Vishwas Mehra standing in front of him.

Vishwas Mehra came inside with his younger brother, Vikas. There were some other people with them. Seeing this, Rishabh stood up from his place. Rishi immediately got scared and followed behind him.

Mark did not move from his place at all. Vishwas sat directly on the sofa in front of him and said, "I heard about your friend, that's why I'm coming now. Even if we had problems by then. But my brother wanted to make sure you didn't have any."

Mark cast his cold gaze towards Vikas, and Vikas smiled deeply.

Vishwas then drew Mark's attention and said, "Did you file a case against my brother, Mr. Mark?"

"Your brother is only seventeen, Mr. Mehra. Don't you know that? Firstly, he enters the club by lying and paying money. On top of that, he wants to get into fights there," Mark said angrily.

"That's right, Mr. Mark. He's a child, such mistakes happen in childhood. But you understand what kind of effect cases like this will have on his career later on, don't you?" Vishwas said.

"I understand perfectly that you have come to ask me to withdraw the case. I will do so if you promise that your brother will never be seen near my club again," Mark said directly, without beating around the bush.

"If everything is being resolved peacefully, then absolutely. It will be done as you say," Vishwas said, bowing his head slightly.

"Then you may come in now," Mark asked for permission, and Vishwas stood up with a fake smile. He glanced at Rushali's picture and then faked sympathy for the children. Then he started to leave with his people.

But Vikas was still standing there. With a smile on his lips, he came forward, bent down on his knees, and leaned in front of Mark, "Just wait until I turn eighteen. After that, I can come to see you whenever I want. Until then, I have to control myself."

Saying that, he touched Rohan's cheek with his finger, "The baby looks good in your arms. It's hard to tell who is cuter."

And the next moment he pecked Mark's cheek and ran away. Rishabh's eyes widened and his mouth fell open. Mark's face was full of world-class anger. Vikas didn't give him a chance to say anything, otherwise, he would have definitely told him off.

Meanwhile, he remembered Rishabh, and his gaze naturally shifted. Rishabh, who had been standing in surprise until now, suddenly turned red and picked up Rishi, stomping his foot in anger, he walked away.

Mark blinked a couple of times. "He has a problem with me flirting. But he never notices his own jealousy. Anyway, you need a lot of time. I'm giving you space. So that you can try to understand these distances."

He said to himself and smiled slightly, then said to Rohan, "Your father is the most foolish, grumpy, and stubborn person in the world. You must not become like him. You have to be lively and happy like your mother. Okay?"

Rohan happily made a sound, and Mark burst into laughter.

In another part of the same city, Vyasacharya entered the grand Acharya Mansion, carrying an eight-year-old child on his back.

Outside the house, there was a statue of a black stone eagle. Exactly the same image was carved on a wall, visible directly in front of the main entrance. An old man was sitting on the sofa in front of it. The three-year-old child was playing near him.

Upon seeing Vyas, he said in a cold voice, "Kabir was attacked again?"

"With the King around, no one can touch a single hair of his prince, Kabir. Everything is fine," Vyas said casually, bringing Kabir and placing him on the sofa.

The child playing below stood up abruptly and smiled, "Dad! Brother, you've arrived? I've been waiting for so long."

"Yes, Samyu!" Vyas said, picking up his younger son, Samir.

Meanwhile, his father brought Kabir closer to him and looked at him carefully. He could not relax until his eyes were convinced that Kabir was fine.

Just then, someone came rushing and snatched Kabir's school bag from a guard's hand. Then, going to Kabir, she held his hand and started to take him away.

Vyas could not utter a word until she was gone. Then, in a low voice, he said, "What happened to our queen? Did you tell her about the attack?"

"She heard it, so what can I do now?" his father shrugged casually.

"Dad, you too. Sometimes you behave like children. I know you did this deliberately to get scolded," Vyas said with slight displeasure, placed Samir in his lap, and ran after his wife, Smita, to appease her.

Vyas's father smiled. "He's never afraid of his father. He's afraid of his wife. Love marriage!"

When Vyas reached the room, Smita was changing Kabir's uniform.

Hesitantly, Vyas entered and sat on the bed at some distance from Smita.

"Are you hungry, or did you eat something outside?" Smita asked Kabir in a cold voice.

Kabir looked at his father helplessly, and Vyas said, "Take your anger out on me. Why the child...!"

A single glare from Smita was enough to shut Vyas up.

"We didn't eat anything outside today, Mom. I'm hungry," Kabir replied immediately. There was an atmosphere of fear between father and son regarding the queen.

"Wash your hands and face. I'll bring something," Smita said, getting up, but Vyas suddenly held her hand. As soon as Kabir went into the washroom, Vyas hugged Smita tightly, making it difficult for her to breathe.

She struggled to free herself, but Vyas was also stubborn. "I won't let go until you apologize and talk to me."

Smita sighed deeply and let out a cold breath, "Yes, let go. I forgive you. Otherwise, you might kill me while asking for forgiveness."

Suddenly loosening his grip, Vyas gently kissed her cheek.

When Kabir came out and saw both husband and wife sitting calmly, his eyes narrowed. He muttered in a cold voice, "By acting, they scare the whole house. Let me grow up once, then I will do this."

Smita glared at him, "I can see your symptoms already; you're becoming spoiled. Vyas, handle him in time."

"Ah... I only have two hands. In which I can only handle you," Vyas said, looking at her lovingly. He didn't even notice what Smita had said.

    Words: 0

    Estimated Reading Time: 0 min

Srijan Thakur, who was anxiously pacing with his phone on the stairs, stopped abruptly as a car pulled into the porch. Seeing Aniket get out of the car, his jaw clenched. He threw his phone down and smashed it, then rushed towards Aniket and grabbed his arms. "Where did you go without telling me?" he yelled in anger. "How many times have I told you to think ten times before going anywhere alone?"

Aniket flinched. He found it difficult to speak.

Both boys were about twenty-three or twenty-four years old. Srijan Thakur was the leader of a gang. He had been married to Aniket for only two to three years, a marriage he had to force by kidnapping Aniket, otherwise the boy would have backed out of the relationship citing family and societal pressure.

Today, he had suddenly driven off alone when Srijan wasn't home. As soon as Srijan returned and couldn't find Aniket, he had put people to work searching for him.

"Are you going to say something or not?" Srijan shouted at him again.

Before Aniket could say anything, a small three-year-old child got out of the car and grabbed his leg, saying, "Uncle!"

Srijan immediately quieted down. His gaze dropped. A small, scared child was hiding behind Aniket.

Srijan opened his mouth, let out a long breath, and cupped Aniket's face. "Ani, baby, tell me what's happening? Who is this child? Whose is he?"

Aniket struggled to say, "Brother... Bhabhi died in a car accident! Krishna survived. Brother has given his responsibility... to me... to me."

His throat choked up. Seeing this, Srijan hugged him, and in the next moment, Aniket sobbed.

A little while later, Srijan was looking at the small child who was still sitting scared on the other side of Aniket. Then Aniket hesitantly said, "I... I want to adopt this child. I can do that, right? You don't have any problem with it?"

Srijan looked into Aniket's eyes and said, "Have I ever stopped you from doing anything that makes you hesitate so much to say something? If you want to adopt him, we will definitely do it. I have no objection to any of your decisions. Just make sure what happened today doesn't happen again."

He said the last part sternly, and Aniket nodded. "I suddenly got a call and I didn't know what to do. You weren't back home then either."

Srijan took a deep breath. Yes, the situation must have been truly panicked, and Srijan should have been there for him. He stepped forward and kissed Aniket's forehead deeply. "Sorry! I couldn't be there for you."

"I have no complaints," Aniket blinked.

Meanwhile, Srijan's phone started ringing. As soon as he saw the caller ID, his face soured. "What happened to this Jijaji now."

He picked up the phone in an irritated voice and said, "Speak!"

In the next moment, something was said on the other end that shocked Srijan.

    ***

Holding a newborn baby in his arms, Srijan said, "I thought this time it would surely be a daughter. Then, just like you stole my Didi, I would steal this one away."

Standing before him was his brother-in-law, Jeevan Kashyap, the leader of a gang (Fox Gang). He said with fake regret, "Alas, that couldn't happen."

"Then it's fine. I'll tell my son to steal your younger son away," Srijan said with a crooked smile.

Jeevan narrowed his eyes. "Your son?"

Srijan looked at Krishna, who was with Aniket, and said, "There's my son. We are adopting him. And children, this is our target. Once he grows up, chase after him with all your might. We have to bring him to us by any means to teach this person a lesson."

Jeevan's face turned slightly red. Meanwhile, someone in the ward chuckled. Srijan turned, and his elder sister Vrinda was lying on the bed. The family didn't agree, so Jeevan eloped with Vrinda. Time passed, but the family's thinking didn't change. So the brother and sister had now shifted to Goa with their partners. Srijan and Jeevan hadn't gotten along well from the start. In such a situation, when Jeevan eloped with his sister, Srijan got an opportunity to fight him.

Srijan sat down near Vrinda with a smile. The baby was still in his arms. He said, "He has taken after you completely, Didi. I am sure his nature will also be like yours, not like some grumpy people and their twin children."

Saying this, he looked straight ahead. Besides Jeevan, two children stood near him.

One of them said, "Enough now. I want to see my brother."

They were exact copies of Jeevan. They were only about eight years old, but seriousness was already visible on their faces.

Jeevan took the baby from Srijan and sat on Vrinda's other side.

As the two children came closer, Jeevan, playing with the baby in his lap, said, "Little Vi, these are your two big brothers! Akhil Bhai, Vineet Bhai. If anyone tries to steal you, they will protect you."

Srijan made a face, while Vrinda laughed again. Srijan shook his head and gently kissed Vrinda's forehead. "How are you? After giving birth to the third child?"

Vrinda made a face. "Are you asking out of concern or taunting me?"

"Well, if you're having a third after having two children... consider it a taunt," Srijan said, glancing at Jeevan.

"Because we are so romantic, even ten children would not be enough," Jeevan said proudly.

"Romantic, my foot," Srijan gritted his teeth.

Meanwhile, Aniket came forward and extended the bouquet he had brought towards Vrinda. "Congratulations, Didi!"

"Thank you, Aniket! By the way, this child? What were you guys saying? Adopting him?" Vrinda said, taking the bouquet and handing it to her son Vineet.

Aniket immediately picked up Krishna and said happily, "Yes, this is my nephew. We are adopting him."

Srijan saw that Aniket's face might have never shown such happiness for anything before.

"It's better. On the occasion of double happiness, now everyone listen to me. Give something to the ashram in the name of the baby and their baby," Vrinda said, making Akhil and Vineet irritable. Their mother's habit of donating to the ashram on every small or big happiness never ended. It wasn't like she would just send something; she would tell them to go themselves.

    ***

Slowly, days and months passed. Mark and Rishabh were living under the same roof, but they barely spoke to each other. Just as Mark had said, he would maintain distance, and he kept his word. No matter how much Rishabh tried to be with him as before, the truth that Rishabh now knew Mark's feelings well would never change.

"Mark, where are you going?" Rishabh stopped him as he reached the main door. Rohan was with him.

"I have to go to the club. Taking Rohan is a compulsion. You won't be able to handle both of you," Mark replied, turning back.

"Did something happen?" Rishabh's forehead furrowed.

"Do you remember that child? The one who is Vishwas Mehra's brother? He's causing trouble at the club again. I have to go and explain to him," Mark said without thinking. But Rishabh's jaw tightened.

He said, "You don't need to go. I'll go."

"He won't listen to you, Rishabh. He doesn't understand the language of love," Mark said.

"Then what language are you going to explain to him in? Or do you just have to go and see him?" Rishabh suddenly yelled at him in anger.

As he calmed down, silence fell in the house, and in the next moment, Rohan, who was in Mark's lap, started crying loudly. Rishabh blinked a couple of times. How could he forget that he wasn't alone with Mark? There were children with them now. He could never yell at Mark like that.

"Don't cry, baby. Dad is used to it. You should be used to it by now," Mark said, turning to leave.

Rishabh wanted to say something, but then he also picked up Rishi and ran after him. How could he leave Mark alone like that?

It was evening when Mark, with Rohan in tow, entered the club. Shards of broken glass lay scattered on the floor, and Vikas Mehra sat casually at the bar counter. The club was not yet fully staffed, nor were there any customers.

"What have you done?" Mark said, moving towards Vikas in anger.

"Easy, Mark. You'll cut yourself on the glass," Vikas straightened up immediately.

"Get down, you idiot. And why are you here? Didn't I tell you not to wander around here?" Mark's tone was still the same.

"You said I couldn't come because I was underage. But today I turned eighteen. It's my birthday. And I wanted to see you on this special day. But I found out you haven't been coming to the club lately? So, I had to do something to make you come. I've already paid for the damages. Ask the manager if you don't believe me," Vikas said, stepping down from the counter and standing with his back to Mark.

"I don't want to hear any excuses, understand? First, you cause damage, then you pretend to fix it. Vikas Mehra, I'm giving you one minute. Disappear from my sight, or I'll file a case against you again. And this time, no matter how much your brother pleads, I won't take it back," Mark warned.

Vikas put his hands in front of his chest, pouting, "Don't be so cruel, Mark. It's my birthday. What's the big deal if I caused a little damage?"

Mark's face turned red. "You're still standing here."

"I'm not going anywhere. I want to celebrate my birthday with you. Let's go! And you shouldn't bring a baby to a club," Vikas said, touching his arm.

Standing behind, Rishabh watched the whole spectacle. His body trembled with anger. Why was Mark entertaining this boy? It was only a matter of calling security and throwing him out.

"Mark!" Rishabh called out, reminding him that he was also present. Mark needed to end this matter quickly.

After glancing at Rishabh, Vikas said, "Hey Mark, I know you don't have a family. But what's this? You're becoming a nanny for your friend's house? It's okay, we'll build a good family together soon. If you want, we don't even need to wait. I'm an adult now."

Rishabh stamped his foot and came forward. "Aren't you talking a little too much, kid? Why are you after him? Do you even know if he's interested in boys or not?"

Vikas blinked a couple of times. Then he looked at Mark. A small smile appeared and disappeared on Mark's lips. As soon as Vikas looked at him, Mark said, "I'm not interested in boys. You've caused enough of a scene. You can go now."

Vikas looked at him in shock. "Are you kidding me?"

"Can you tell if I'm gay just by looking at my face? Look, if that were the case, Rishabh would be my boyfriend, not my friend," Mark said. As soon as he spoke, Rishabh's eyes widened slightly, and his cheeks turned red. Mark had always made him blush by flirting so casually. This was nothing new. Mark had excellent flirting skills. Impressing people was child's play for him. This was precisely why Vikas was also impressed by him.

"You heard it now? You can go. Don't ever show your face in this club again, or I'll file a case," Rishabh said in a cold voice.

Vikas glanced at Mark. "Even if that's true, I don't care, Mark. At least stay with me today. I won't bother you again."

Mark let out a cold sigh. "The club is yours for the night. Call your friends and party. Just no more damage from you."

Saying this, Mark started to leave. He couldn't do anything more for Vikas.

"Stay with me today. Only then can I guarantee anything," Vikas said, holding his hand.

"Mark, we're going home," Rishabh also chimed in.

Mark was trapped. Someone's heart was broken, and he didn't want to break someone else's.

"I'm here," Mark said, stepping back and gesturing for Rishabh to follow him.

The club had two floors available for the party. Above that were two floors for accommodation, and at the very top was an apartment where Mark lived. After leaving Rishu to play, Rishabh went to the large balcony of the apartment. A cold breeze was blowing, and the waves of the sea could be clearly seen from there. It was the only club in the entire city built near the sea, which is why many people expressed a desire to buy it.

"Rishu!" Mark's voice brought Rishabh back to reality. Turning to Mark angrily, he said, "You're going to join his birthday party?"

"He's still just a child, after all. And it's his birthday today. I had decided to scold him, threaten him, and send him away. But it doesn't feel right now. Besides, he said he won't bother me after today," Mark sighed. As hard as he tried to be, his heart was much softer.

Rishabh crossed his arms. "I don't care."

"Then why are you getting angry? And why did you say on my behalf that I don't like boys? Of course, I like boys," Mark said, also crossing his arms casually.

Rishabh's jaw tightened. "Does this mean you're starting to like him now? Oh, did I mess everything up by interfering? Do one thing, go to him."

"Should I really go?" Mark raised an eyebrow.

Rishabh became flustered. He punched Mark hard in the chest. "Go away from here. I don't want to see your face."

Mark chuckled and stepped forward, hugging him. For a moment, Rishabh squirmed. After all, Mark had been ignoring him for so many days. But slowly, that resentment cooled, and he quieted down in Mark's arms.

Mark's grip on Rishabh was firm. Hiding his face in Rishabh's neck, he said, "I only like you. For you, I can reject anyone. And I can wait for you too. Whether you accept me today, tomorrow, or ten years from now! You'll always find me waiting."

Rishabh clutched his shirt in his fists. "Promise!"

"Yes... It's a promise," Mark said.

As the sun completely set and darkness fell, music started playing in the club, and people began to dance. With both children asleep, Rishabh, strolling idly, reached the first floor. Placing his hand on the glass wall, he looked down, and his face fell. Mark had joined the party. He was standing at the counter, making drinks. Directly in front of him, Vikas sat with his face resting on his hand, saying something.

"Mark is handsome. Anyone would fall for him," Rishabh blurted out unintentionally and soon realized it. He turned abruptly and placed his hand on his pounding heart. Was it right to feel this way? His love was for Rushali. And he was the father of two children.

    Athena,

"Brother, they are sending me abroad for studies. So, I’ve decided to leave," Vikas said with disappointment.

"Good decision! Your age is for studying. Not for ruining your life by getting involved in love affairs," Mark said, making him one last drink. "Now, you can either enjoy it or go home. I have to watch the kids."

Vikas sighed. "Mark, give me your hand."

When Mark’s forehead furrowed, Vikas said, "I may be from a mafia family, but I won't take your hand off by cutting it. Just for a minute or two."

Mark made a face and placed his hand on the counter. The next moment, Vikas took his hand, kissed it lightly, and said, "You are my first love. I will probably never forget you, Mark. If you ever find yourself alone in life, remember me. Anyway, whether I will be here or not is another matter. By the way, I am active on social media. You can find my name there. Okay?"

Mark uncomfortably pulled his hand back, and Vikas understood that Mark felt disgusted by his touch. He stood up from the stool and said, "Goodbye, Mark! If fate wills it, we will meet again."

Without looking back, he waved his hand, said goodbye to Mark, and left the club. Mark was still stroking his hand. Unknowingly, his gaze fell on the upper floor, and his eyes widened. The next moment, he ran towards the elevator.

"Rishu, listen! Don't be angry right now. He suddenly asked for my hand. I didn't know he would do something like that," Mark said, following Rishabh. Meanwhile, Rishabh was pacing the room, fuming with anger.

"I don't want to talk about this," Rishabh's voice was clearly angry.

"How can you say you don't want to talk? I know you're angry, but please believe that it wasn't my fault," Mark pleaded.

"I'm not angry at all." Rishabh didn't seem willing to stop at one place. Mark grabbed his arm, stopped him, and faced him. "Now say what you want to say. Admit that I'm angry and jealous seeing someone else touch you."

For a moment, Rishabh was about to agree with him. But then he suddenly stopped and started avoiding his gaze. A smile appeared on Mark's lips. "Admit it, Rishabh. You won't become small if you do."

"Don't talk nonsense. And why are you after a father of two children? Aren't you ashamed at all?" Rishabh said, rubbing his nose.

"We left shame that day when we fell in love with you. And the father of two children is still very young. Besides, you and Rushali are like family to me. So, your children are my children, aren't they?" Mark said, and Rishabh nodded regretfully.

"Oh, why aren't you agreeing? I will transfer my share, land, and property to Rohan when he grows up. Will you agree then?" Mark asked.

Before Rishabh could say anything, Rohan woke up crying. Mark immediately ran towards Rohan, leaving Rishabh. If Rishi woke up from Rohan's crying, it would be difficult to manage two crying children.

    *********

Three years later, Jeevan and Vrinda stood outside a playschool with five-year-old Ved. Ved continued to cry because he didn't want to go anywhere without his mother.

"Baby, don't cry. You'll have fun at school, you'll see. You'll make new friends too," Vrinda tried to explain.

"I want to go home with you, Mommy," Ved rubbed his eyes. He looked very cute in his little uniform and with a small bag on his back.

Jeevan said in a slightly stern voice, "Little V, didn't you want to go to school like your brothers? Then why are you refusing now? Good children don't cry or get scared. Go on, quickly."

Ved sniffled and waved goodbye to them, which made Vrinda laugh. When things didn't work out, one of them often became strict for all three children. Then, they would all readily agree.

Turning around, Ved started walking slowly.

"You laugh at everything," Jeevan said, extending his hand to Vrinda.

Vrinda stood up, holding his hand. "He's very cute. I feel like laughing, and I also feel love for him."

Due to not looking down and with tear-filled eyes, Ved tripped over his own shoe. As he began to fall, Jeevan and Vrinda's eyes widened. But soon, they were relieved. Another child caught Ved by his bag before he could fall.

As he straightened Ved, he said, "Are you a baby to be shedding tears over going to school? Look at me, I'm going with a smile. All the children here seem like crybabies to me. There's no one like me here. It seems I'll have to make someone like me now."

The boy said with pride. Ved looked at him angrily. The next moment, he wiped his eyes and said, "Who did you call a crybaby? I'm not crying, look at my eyes."

"Wipe them properly. Then I'll believe you," the boy said again. So, Ved quickly rubbed his eyes and cleaned them well.

The boy suddenly put his hand on his shoulder again. "If you stay with me, you'll forget to cry. And you'll only remember fun. By the way, my name is Rohan Dixit. Yours? Ah ha, baby! Crybaby baby!"

"My name is Ved Kashyap," he shouted. At the same time, he tried to remove Rohan's hand. But Rohan didn't let him.

Jeevan shrugged his shoulders. "See, he's also made a friend. There's no need to worry now."

Vrinda nodded. Then she said, "Let's look for a place for the cafe now. There's one right in front of the school."

"V, don't do it, man! Then I'll have to leave all my work and sit here all day to look after you," Jeevan refused. But Vrinda was determined to start a cafe. She just wanted to give her baking skills a little boost.

On the other side, Rishabh, standing with his hands on his hips, had raised his eyebrows. He suddenly said, "Doesn't this boy ever hesitate anywhere?"

"Why would he? He's my son," Mark said proudly, standing nearby.

"Dad, Mark, I'm getting late. You guys will make me stand outside because of Rohan's first day," Rishi said seriously, looking at his watch.

"And this bookworm! Son, you're only in the second grade. Even your father never took so much stress," Mark said, and Rishabh lightly slapped him on the head.

Then he said, "Whoever wants to study will study. Whoever doesn't want to, won't. I won't force my children. Their father is currently the owner of the biggest club in this city."

Mark winked and smiled deeply. He loved hearing this whenever Rishabh considered him the father of his children.

Jeevan, standing some distance away, had just gotten into the car when he received a call. He picked up the phone, and someone said something from the other end. Jeevan's eyes narrowed. "Tiger Gang! You mean Purohit? How did he die? Heart attack! Okay. It is our duty to attend someone's death. After all, he was from our dear mafia family."

Jeevan wasn't too bothered by this. He ended the call, gestured to some guards with his eyes to protect Ved, and got into the car, leaving.

It was evening when a thirteen-year-old boy lit the fire to cremate his father's dead body. His eyes, once filled with tears, had now dried up. He remembered some of his father's words:

"Never show your tears to anyone outside, Arjun. People will try to comfort you, but they will destroy you by getting close. In this world, the greatest power is that of money. It can make anyone bow down before you. I may be alive or not, but this intoxication of power should never leave you. This is what will keep you alive." Mr. Purohit's voice seemed to echo in Arjun's ears. He closed his red eyes.

Mr. Purohit had never married. He had adopted Arjun and loved him like his own son. Now, he had left him an orphan once again, leaving behind his love and the power of his gang.

As someone placed a hand on Arjun's shoulder, he turned to see Vyas, who hugged him tightly. Arjun was not alone, Vyas seemed to be telling him. Then, Kabir, a boy of the same age as Arjun, held his hand, assuring him that he would always be with his friend.

Many mafias had gathered for the final rites, most of them being gang leaders.

    Intro:

    Eagle Gang:

Leader: Vyas Acharya, wife Smita Acharya, and their two children: Kabir and Sameer!

Jay is the son of their household servant.

    Tiger Gang:

Leader: Mr. Purohit, who had adopted Arjun Purohit. Kevin, a boy from childhood, was with Arjun, and he was the son of Mr. Purohit's special guard.

Fox Gang Leader: Jeevan Kashyap! Wife Vrinda and three children: Akhil, Vinay, and Ved

    Bat Gang:

    Leader: Srijan Thakur!

He had married his love, Aniket, and now Aniket's nephew was their son.

    Wolf Gang:

    Leader: Vishwas Mehra

    Brother: Vikas Mehra

    Vishwas had a son, Vihan!

Mark and Rishabh: School-time friends who had been together for a long time. They owned the Athena Night Club.

They had two children: Rohan and Rishi!

As the crowd began to disperse from the cremation ground, Jeevan Kashyap approached Vyas Acharya with Srijan and Vishwas Mehra.

"That's a terrible loss," Jeevan said, taking a deep breath.

Vyas did not respond. He knew these people had no genuine concern for Mr. Purohit's death. To prove him right, Jeevan expressed false condolences, "Your power has decreased, King. A strong supporter is gone, and it's a loss."

Vyas glared at him, and Jeevan held up his hands, "I'm just feeling bad for the kid. What's his fault? We should think of something good for him. We're watching you."

Jeevan lightly touched Arjun's head and left. Srijan did the same. Vishwas remained, his cold gaze on Arjun and Vyas, before leaving with a twisted smile. Vyas blinked a few times; under any circumstances, he could not leave Arjun alone now.

    Athena,

"What's this compulsion? Why keep the club closed?" Rishabh asked in surprise as Mark took him in the lift.

"Because a gang leader died. You know how much power these gang leaders hold in Goa. Their influence is as much as, if not more than, that of politicians and police," Mark explained as the lift opened on their apartment floor, and he held Rishabh's hand.

"If we stay here, what about the kids?" Rishabh still didn't understand what Mark was trying to do.

"The kids are growing up. I got permission from Rishi to stay out with you today. He will take care of Rohan. The caretaker is present at home, so there's no need to worry. It's not like they're going to be alone for the first time," Mark said.

Rishabh nodded slightly. Excitedly, he asked, "What are we going to do here? Have you planned another date?"

Mark sighed, "It's hard to believe that this is the same boring person who didn't understand or accept my love."

"Excuse me, two kids, unromantic and boring, who are you calling?" Rishabh replied in his own tune. Mark pushed him against the closed apartment door.

Surprised, Rishabh looked at Mark, who eliminated the distance between them and said in a deep voice, "We've been dating for four years. Shouldn't we get married now?"

    "Marriage?" Rishabh asked in surprise.

"You don't need marriage to be together, but I heard it's connected to sentiments and commitments, with some seven-lifetime drama, right?" Mark scratched his head.

"Okay, so you also know all this. Good. Do you want to get married now?" Rishabh said calmly.

Mark nodded slightly and turned on the switches, lighting up the apartment. The effort he had put into the date was evident.

Holding Rishabh's hand, Mark led him to the balcony, where candles lit up the area. A table was set near the bridge.

As Mark pulled out a chair for Rishabh, he joked, "Our dates are just eating and going home. Today should be special. You've proposed marriage."

Mark thought for a moment before responding. He took Rishabh's hand, and as they began to dance to the music, Rishabh said, "Exercise couldn't wait; you always have to do it now."

Mark frowned, "Rishu, do you always have to interrupt or cut in? Can't you just let things be? You ruin my efforts and mood. If you have a problem with my planned dates, why don't you arrange something yourself?"

Rishabh thought and said, "Your wish, sir. Next date is my turn."

"After I say it?" Mark turned his eyes.

Rishabh grasped Mark's finger and spun around, laughing. Mark's plan seemed to be working.

The scene continued with their romantic evening.

When Smita opened the door at Acharya Mansion, Vyas and Kabir stood before her.

"Vyas, you took the child to such a place. And you're so late in coming? I was worried," Smita said.

"Your child is the future king. The sooner he gets used to these things, the better. And I couldn't come alone. I've brought someone along. From today, they will stay here," Vyas said, looking back. Smita's gaze fell on the two children standing with their heads bowed.

She had seen one of them before. "Arjun!"

After all, he was her son's friend and the son of Vyas's close friend. Arjun had visited this house many times with Mr. Purohit.

How could Smita forget that there would be no one left behind to look after Arjun? She took a deep breath and said, "Come, son! Consider this your own home from today."

When Arjun looked up, Smita gestured for him to come closer. Kabir placed a hand on Arjun's shoulder. "From today, my parents are your parents too. And I am your brother. Don't dare to consider yourself alone from today."

Arjun was quite emotional. He moved forward silently, and Smita began to lead him away. Kevin's father was also present with the luggage, besides Vyas. He alone was certainly not capable of keeping Arjun safe.

Dixit Mansion, Rishi lay on the bed in a room with Rohan's head on his arm.

"There was a bird, there was a crow!" Rishi began to tell a story at Rohan's demand, and Rohan made a face.

"Bro, you've been telling the same story for years and it's getting boring. At least update yourself with the times? Move beyond crows and birds. You read so many books, can't you tell something nice from them?" Rohan interrupted him as soon as the story began.

Rishi stared at him. "I'm telling you because you asked me to tell a story. If you make faces and bother me too much, I'll throw you out of the room."

Rohan tightened his grip on him and immediately said, "Tell whatever you want. But don't throw me out of the room. I want to sleep near you. I'm scared alone."

"Again? Rohan, I've told you so many times. There's no such thing as ghosts. You have fear in your mind," Rishi explained to him.

"If there are no ghosts, then why is Mark scared? He's an adult too," Rohan began to argue with him.

Exhaling a cold breath, Rishi started patting Rohan's head. He found it better to dismiss most of Rohan's talk because his tongue and questions seemed to travel the world.

Athena, Mark and Rishabh, wrapped in a sheet, were lost in their own world. Rishabh's eyes were closed, but Mark's sleep seemed to have vanished due to happiness. He was constantly stroking Rishabh's tired face with his fingers.

Rishabh opened his eyes and slapped his hand. "Let me sleep."

"I can't sleep. Talk to me," Mark said, puckering his lips.

"I don't have the strength," Rishabh tried to turn over, but Mark didn't let him.

Rishabh opened his mouth and let out a slight breath. "What is it, Mark?"

"I love you," Mark said, lightly kissing his cheek.

    "Hmmm!" Rishabh blinked.

"What do you mean, 'hmmm'? Say it... I love you too, Mark!" he said lovingly.

"I love you too, hubby? Now please spare me?" Rishabh said in a pleading voice, and a mischievous smile spread across Mark's face.

"Never!" saying this, he took possession of Rishabh's lips. Rishabh couldn't resist his kiss even if he wanted to. His fingers went into Mark's hair.

After a minute, Mark pulled away and said, "I will lay all the happiness of the world at your feet."

"You and the children are my world. I don't need anything else now," Rishabh said in a low voice.

Mark kissed his forehead deeply. And the next moment, he hid his face in Rishabh's neck.

Rishabh opened his mouth and made a sound, which was certainly slightly annoyed. Perhaps Mark had no intention of letting him sleep tonight.

Thakur Mansion, as Srijan reached home, he saw Aniket arguing angrily on the phone with someone.

"If you can't force them, you'll resort to blackmail now? I've already told you that my brother has given Krishna's responsibility to me. I won't send him to anyone else at any cost. And what are you saying? When he grows up, he'll ask us why his parents are like this? So listen carefully. We are raising Krishna in such a way that he accepts this and isn't uncomfortable. You are worried about his future, his mental health, right? It's people like you who see us differently. If you normalize this and people like you don't ask awkward questions to the child, then you won't have to worry about his mental health. All I'll say is, Dad, now leave me and my son alone. I was dead to you, right? Now I've also considered that I have no family." Aniket finished speaking in one breath, hung up the phone, and started taking deep breaths.

Just then, someone embraced him from behind and said, "Are you okay?"

"I... I'm fine. When did you return?" Aniket said, startled.

"Just when you were answering your father without fear. You said it absolutely right. We will raise our son in such a way that people think ten times before asking him questions," Srijan said with pride.

"Yes, Dad! If anyone says anything wrong against my mommy, I'll break their teeth," Krishna said, appearing from nowhere.

Aniket's eyes widened. "What... what are you saying? Who are you learning this from?"

"Oh, come on, Mom! If someone is bothering you on the phone every day and you're getting upset, then I have to make myself strong, right? So that no one can bother you," Krishna said, shrugging his shoulders.

"That's my boy. No one can hurt our Ani while we're here," Srijan said, picking Krishna up in his arms.

"Dad, I've grown up. Don't pick me up like this," Krishna said, laughing.

"Grown up a lot? Shall we get you married then?" Srijan raised his eyebrows.

"I've grown up, but the baby still wipes his nose. How will we get married then?" Krishna said innocently.

"Oh God. Srijan, you've spoiled him completely. Didi also says nothing. He's still a child, and you're filling his mind with such things. If he insists on this even when he grows up, will you really get him married?" Aniket put his head in his hands and sat down.

"We will definitely get him married. Only Baby's consent is needed. My son will do that work after all. He's my son, after all," Srijan said proudly.

Aniket watched him, narrowing his eyes. Now only time would tell what their son would do when he grew up.

    Estimated Reading Time: 0 min

    Five years later, Athena

An eighteen-year-old boy emotionlessly shot two people. At the same time, a scream fell into his ears.

In fact, it wasn't a scream. Perhaps someone shouted in anger. The boy turned in that direction and a ten-year-old child, without fear, reached there charging. Pointing his finger, he said, "Hey boy, you've taken my club as your home? How dare you commit murder here? Wait, I'll call the police right now."

The eighteen-year-old boy's eyes narrowed. Tilting his neck slightly, he looked the cute child standing in front of him up and down. He had very beautiful and large eyes, which were hidden by the hair scattered on his forehead. A unique locket was also hanging around his neck, shaped like a key, with a crown shape on the upper part, adorned with many small diamonds.

Twirling the gun in his finger, the eighteen-year-old boy stopped in front of the ten-year-old child and the next moment, picked him up like a doll and quickly entered the nearby storeroom.

Just then, two boys ran towards them in the corridor. Some people were behind them. One of them, clenching his fist in anger, said, "He got away!"

"He'll be caught sooner or later," the other boy said, looking at his men. "Move these corpses."

Their men immediately got to work. The first boy was still looking around with his sharp eyes.

"Ak, let's go?" the second boy said.

"He could be here, Vineet," the first boy, Akhil, said, turning to the second boy.

"He killed two people, Ak. We need to leave before anything happens. You know what will happen if Dada finds out about this?" Vineet explained to him. Akhil cleared his throat and shook his head.

Immediately, without saying anything, he walked briskly towards the lift. Vineet also looked around. After which he also followed Akhil.

Inside the storeroom, the boy still held the child in his arms, covering the child's mouth with his gun-holding hand. As soon as he realized the people outside had left, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Who are you? And... how dare you try to touch Rohan Dixit?" the child struggled to get down.

"Are you some kind of prince that I can't touch you? If you are, consider me one of your kind too. My name is Kabir Acharya. Nice to meet you, Rohan Dixit." Still holding him, Kabir came out of the storeroom.

"It's good you told me your name. It will be easier to tell the police now. You killed two people!" Rohan suddenly fell silent, saying this. Kabir had just killed two people in the corridor.

"If there are no corpses, how can there be blood and blame?" Kabir raised his eyebrows, looking at him.

"There were two corpses here just now. Did the ceiling swallow them or the floor eat them? Or did some ghost eat them?" Rohan looked into Kabir's eyes with widened eyes.

Kabir blinked two or three times and the next moment burst out laughing, "You're so cute. By the way, there are no ghosts. Whoever it belonged to took their belongings."

"Meaning?" Rohan, relieved that it wasn't a ghost, said.

Kabir continued to walk, still carrying him. He said, "Meaning, tell me, are you the owner of this club? That's when I thought, who brought a child here?"

"I come here sometimes. This club belongs to my dad and Mark," Rohan replied.

"Great! If I befriend you, can you give me free entry here?" Kabir's smile didn't diminish at all.

"Yes, I can. But where are we friends? And why should I befriend you?" Rohan said.

"There are many benefits. My dad is a mafia king," Kabir whispered in his ear, making Rohan's eyes widen.

He also began to say in a low voice, "I've heard a lot from Mark's mouth. He says one should keep contacts with important people. They come in handy when needed. So, should I also keep contact with you, bro...!"

"No!" Kabir stopped him in a loud voice. "Just call me buddy! So that we can be friends. Brothers and stuff are not friends."

Rohan blinked his eyes rapidly a couple of times. "Then why are you shouting? Tell me calmly? I have a small heart. What if it jumps out?"

Kabir laughed again. "Where should I leave you? Which floor were you going to?"

"I was just playing here. I have to go to the apartment upstairs. I came down the stairs. Come on, drop me upstairs quickly, otherwise Dada will get angry," Rohan said, remembering, and hit his head.

"Okay, cutie!" Kabir nodded with a slight smile and took him to the apartment in the lift.

It was morning. Akhil and Vineet's faces were grim again. They reached an ashram with their mother. They didn't know what friends Ved had made here that Vrinda was doing too much for them. She had even admitted the children with Ved.

Akhil took a narrow alley and went off to one side. Poor Vineet was trapped. Before he could escape, Vrinda grabbed his arm. He couldn't go anywhere now, even if he wanted to.

Akhil was looking around as he was exiting. Suddenly, a child bumped into him and started crying as he fell.

"Ah... this is the only thing left to happen," Akhil said in an irritated voice and looked at the child.

"Did you get hurt?" he asked from a distance without moving to help him.

Sobbing, the child looked at his old shoe, the sole of which had come off. As soon as he raised his face, Akhil's hardened eyes became normal. There was something in those eyes that melted Akhil. Extending his hand, he said, "Come on, get up. If you're hurt, we'll put medicine on it."

"I'm not hurt, but my shoe!" and the child started crying at the top of his lungs.

After looking at the child's shoe, Akhil sat down and said, "You're not hurt, so why are you crying?"

"Because these are my only shoes," the child said.

Akhil started taking off his shoes. "Keep mine. Next time I'll bring new shoes."

The child stopped crying and looked at his shoes, which were quite large. He immediately said, "I don't want them. How will I wear them?"

Akhil held his head. "There's that too. Let's do this. I'll come back by evening with new shoes for you. Will that be okay?"

"Really?" the child asked, completely stopping crying, his eyes sparkling.

"I promise," Akhil said with a slight smile, seeing the sparkle in his eyes.

"Thank you," the child also smiled.

"Can I know your name?" Akhil asked out of curiosity.

"My name is Ari, and yours?" the child asked.

"My name is Akhil. You can call me Ak, you won't forget, will you?" Akhil said, and the child immediately nodded.

Vinit slammed some books in his hand down in front of a child because the child had been standing near him for a while but the child wasn't paying him any attention.

The child didn't react. He was busy with his drawing. Vinit felt insulted. Clearing his throat, he said, "You draw well. Did you learn it somewhere?"

    "No!" the child replied curtly.

Vinit let out a cold laugh. "What a favor you did by answering me. No one has ever dared to ignore me like this until today."

When there was no reaction from the child, Vinit sat down in front of him. It had become a matter of his ego. Snapping his fingers, he said, "Hey, what's your name? Do you know who I am? How can you ignore me?"

"I don't want to know who you are." The child had insulted him again.

Vinit was enraged. The next moment, he snatched the child's sketchbook and started flipping through its pages. There were sketches one after another. Truly, at such a young age, the child's artistry was unmatched. Vinit stopped at the first page and said, "Haah, I know your name now. Shlok! Right?"

Shlok snatched his sketchbook back and started gathering all his colors. He was angry about someone taking his book.

Vinit blinked a couple of times. As soon as he felt the child was leaving, Vinit held his hand and said, "What happened? I just picked up your book to see your name."

Shlok trembled suddenly, and all his belongings fell to the ground.

"Vinit, leave him," Vrinda shouted from a distance and ran towards them. Scolded by his mother, Vinit immediately let go of Shlok's hand.

Feeling free, Shlok immediately ran away. All his belongings were left behind.

Standing in front of Vrinda, Vinit said, "I didn't do anything, Mama!"

"Yes, I believe you. But that child is very sensitive. He has a problem with being touched," Vrinda said, exhaling a cold breath.

"What kind of problem?" Vinit asked seriously.

"He must be four or five years old. He was sold. He was among the children rescued by King. No news of his family, he's been here since then. He is still very scared of strangers. He is Baby's friend, so I gathered a little information. In the beginning, he didn't even talk to me. But he got friendly with Baby," Vrinda said, and Vinit nodded slightly.

Picking up the sketchbook and all the belongings lying on the ground, Vinit said, "I won't bother him. I just came to return this."

When Vrinda said nothing, Vinit went to the other side, picked up a lot of chocolates from a box, and went inside the ashram to find Shlok.

In one room, many beds were laid out for sleeping. Someone gestured to Vinit and showed him Shlok's place, so Vinit gestured back, indicating he wanted to go alone.

Shlok was lying in his place, hidden under the sheet.

"Hey Shlok! Take your sketchbook back, or I'll steal it," Vinit said, standing by the bed, and only a small hand came out from under the sheet. Vinit couldn't help but smile. Instead of the book, he placed all the chocolates on Shlok's hand. The sheet was slightly lifted, and the next moment, Shlok pushed them onto the bed and waved his hand. He just wanted his book back. He had no desire for anything else.

"What are you, child? I brought you chocolates, and you want your old book back. Anyway, pull the sheet and show me your face. Only then will I return it," Vinit said, standing at a distance.

But Shlok didn't say a word. Finally, Vinit gave up and placed her book and all the other belongings on the bed.

Then, bending slightly, he said, "You don't need to be afraid of me. I am Ved's big brother. Just like I protect him, I will protect you too if you become my friend."

Shlok still didn't respond, so Vinit said, "Alright! I'm leaving now. We'll meet next time."

He straightened up and left. Only when the sound of footsteps faded away did Shlok bring his face out.

Vrinda, Akhil, and Vinit rushed home. They found Jivan extremely angry. Seeing both children, he shouted, "What did you two do last night? You've just turned eighteen, and I haven't given you the gang's responsibility yet."

Akhil rolled his eyes. "When you already know, what's the point of asking, Dad?"

Jivan's face turned red. "You attacked King's son. Here, we all try to maintain peace among ourselves so that everyone can do their work comfortably. And you kids have started fanning the flames. Anyway, King needs an opportunity to scold and target us."

"Calm your husband, Mama! His blood pressure will rise unnecessarily," Akhil said carelessly.

Jivan trembled with anger. "Why is this boy so ill-mannered, V? Who did he get it from?"

"Why are you asking me? He got it from you," Vrinda said, shrugging her shoulders casually. She had stopped interfering between father and son. She only spoke up in matters concerning her Baby because he needed the most care.

Jivan looked at Vinit in surprise. "I didn't expect this from you. Why didn't you stop him?"

"Why should I stop him when the enemy is in front of me? And how can you expect me to be involved in every matter?" Vinit said.

"You two didn't get it from me. You both got it from V. She also doesn't listen to me, just like you," Jivan said, pointing a finger at both of them.

"Yes, now blame everything on me. I haven't done anything in all this. Don't drag me into this," Vrinda said.

"And Dad, if you argue like children about every little thing, your children will stop taking you seriously. You are not a strict dad, nor can you ever be, so don't even try," Vinit said, forcing Jivan to become agitated.

"You have all grown up. You want responsibility? Today, you both will go to New York. Go there, do college, and also manage the business. If I see even a slight loss there, I'll come with a stick and show you what a strict dad is like?" As Jivan spoke, everyone's eyes widened.

Vrinda tried to say something, but Jivan stopped her with a hand gesture. "Not a word, V. I am very serious. I have made this decision after seeing and understanding the entire situation. You have no idea what can happen because of these two. Your children are playing with fire right now. And they found King's son to provoke."

"We won't go anywhere, Mama," both boys said, holding Vrinda.

"Please, think it over carefully. I'll explain to them not to do it again, won't I? Don't send them away," Vrinda said.

"They have to go. You can beat your head in front of this Akhil, he will do whatever comes to his mind," Jivan said, glaring at Akhil.

"He got it from you...!" As Vrinda was about to speak, Jivan glared at her. Vrinda swallowed her words.

"Jimmy! Book evening tickets for them. And you will also go with them. I need hourly updates on them," Jivan said, and a boy standing in the hall came forward and nodded.

Akhil and Vinit looked at each other. There was no other way now; they had to obey Jivan. Akhil started thinking that if he had to go, he should have caused a bit more trouble last night. At least if he had injured Kabir, his heart would have found some peace.

Athena, it was morning when Arjun, who had gone to find Kabir, received a message that Kabir had reached home. Kabir had forced Arjun to wake up early and come to the club. Annoyed, as he entered the lift, he found a child already inside.

Arjun whistled softly and stood leaning comfortably towards the back. The lift was going to the ground floor.

Seeing the child holding thick general knowledge books, Arjun asked in surprise, "How old are you? Are you preparing for some special exam?"

Arjun was about to take his board exams. Still, he felt no seriousness about anything.

He received no answer from the child. Instead, the child pushed his glasses up his nose. Arjun's eyebrows rose slightly. He said, "I've seen you come and go here many times, but we haven't had a chance to talk."

As there was silence from the other side again, Arjun, slightly irritated, crossed his legs and clasped his hands behind his head, "Are you mute? At least tell me your name if you're not."

"I don't like talking to vagrants," the child said, surprising Arjun as he opened his mouth.

"Excuse me! Who did you call a vagrant?" Arjun was furious.

"Someone who stays at the club all night and goes home in the morning," the child replied, still not looking at him.

"But I just...!" Arjun started to explain but then stopped. Shaking his head slightly, he said, "You are here too. And who is letting children come here?"

"This place belongs to my father," the child, who was Rishi, said calmly.

Arjun gritted his teeth and said, "How dare you call me a vagrant? At least talk according to your age, kid? And in your opinion, who is successful, Hanan? The people who come here are often successful, which is why they can set foot in this expensive place."

"Success is not for those who earn money and come here to squander it. Instead, it is for those who remain dedicated to their work and use the fruits of their labor in a good place. This place is just filled with illusion," Rishi said.

Arjun suddenly placed his hand on his cheek, "Your words hit my cheek like a slap. Where were you, O Guru? You have opened my eyes."

The next moment, Arjun's demeanor changed. Grabbing Rishi by the collar and pulling him back, he said, "Surely your thoughts don't align with your father's."

Rishi narrowed his eyes and glared at him. As calm as he had seemed until now, his anger was visible on his face.

"Rishi Dixit!" Arjun read the name written in beautiful letters on the book cover.

Rishi immediately covered the name, but it was no use. He also struggled to free his collar from Arjun's grasp.

"I feel sad seeing you live such a boring life. Perhaps you don't have any friends. No problem. I will be your friend. Will you be friends with me?" Arjun said, a little haughtily, as if he was doing Rishi a favor.

Finally, freeing his collar, Rishi said, "I prefer to be alone rather than be friends with vagrants."

Arjun forced a laugh, "You have made me very angry."

Meanwhile, the lift door opened, and Rishi stepped out without listening to him.

"Hey kid! Rishi Dixit, wait," Arjun said, running after him. But soon, Rishi got into the back seat of a car, and the driver drove away.

Acharya Mansion, thirteen-year-old Sameer was crying profusely, saying, "Why will Jai leave? He is my only friend. Don't separate him from me."

"But Jai is going for training, Samu! Children don't do this. Don't you want your friend to come back stronger so he can protect you in the future?" Vyas explained to him.

"No, no, absolutely not. If Jai goes anywhere, I won't eat. I won't do anything," Sameer insisted, stamping his feet.

Vyas sighed and looked at Smita. At the same time, he said to Smita in a stern tone, "Samu, stop crying! And go to your room right now."

In a moment, Sameer's cries stopped, and wiping his running nose, he looked up at a boy. The boy had his head bowed. Beside him was another boy. They were Jai and Kevin, being sent for training together so they could be ready to protect Kabir and Arjun in the future.

"Jai, tell him you don't have to leave me. We are friends, aren't we? Can't you do this much for me?" Sameer asked hopefully, sobbing.

Jai's fists were clenched behind his back. Without lifting his head, he said, "We are not friends, sir. And it is important for me to go."

Sameer looked at him in disbelief. It took him a few moments to understand Jai's words. He clenched his jaw in anger. He had never imagined in his dreams that his only friend would ditch him like this. Wiping his eyes, Sameer left with quick steps.

Jai slightly lifted his gaze. He was also hurting. But he was helpless. He had promised his father that he would always obey the King's command.

A few years later, Mark sat with his laptop in the club's apartment, and Rishabh held his hand tightly. Behind them, Rishi paced back and forth.

Observing the three of them with narrowed eyes, Rohan was busy eating an apple.

At this moment, Mark excitedly exclaimed, "Yay... Rishi baby, you got into medical school!"

Rishabh shouted loudly, while Rishi covered his mouth, trying to believe he had gotten admission.

Rohan rolled his eyes and walked out. The two fathers congratulated their child.

Fifteen-year-old Rohan took the lift to the first floor. He knew very well that his friend had an important meeting here today, for which the entire club would be closed from now until late into the night.

Rohan carelessly opened the door and entered, drawing everyone's attention. Kabir, about twenty-three years old, sat on a large sofa, his blazer removed and shirt sleeves rolled up. Sometimes Rohan couldn't take his eyes off the handsome boy. Then he remembered he was also a boy and even more handsome than Kabir. His chest puffed up with pride as always, and he walked in with a casual gait.

"You can come in," Kabir said to his clients. Everyone shook hands with Kabir and began to leave.

Kabir then looked at Rohan, and before he could react, Rohan sat next to him, sprawling on the sofa. The apple was still in his hand, and he let out a long sigh before taking a bite.

"What's troubling you, cutie?" Kabir started to gather the files.

"Why are these people still standing here?" Rohan scanned the entire room. Kabir's guards stood with their heads bowed, including Jai. Kabir handed him the files and gestured for everyone to leave.

As they left, Rohan threw his head back, opened his mouth, and cried loudly, "Dad and Mark are so mean. They always say they don't care if we study or not. But when... bro, when we come home with medals, trophies, and certificates, they don't hold back on celebrating. They raise the roof shouting. It's so unfair."

As he spoke, he started hitting Kabir's arm. Kabir was the only one with whom he could express his emotions. Kabir cleared his throat, and Rohan wiped his nose on his arm. Clenching his lips, Kabir closed his eyes, then picked up the tissues in front of him and held Rohan's face. Wiping his eyes and nose, he said, "Then why don't you work hard? If you also top, they will appreciate you too. Aren't you jealous of your own brother?"

"I'm not jealous, but I feel bad. Because besides studying, I can do everything else. And they don't pressure me to get numbers. Tell me, how will it happen?" Rohan said, sniffling.

Kabir ran his hands through his hair. "I pressure you, don't I? Then why don't you listen to me?"

"No, big brother. Not that kind, I heard the pressure from Dad's belt works better." Rohan's crying stopped abruptly.

"You hear quite a lot," Kabir said, flicking Rohan's forehead. The boy's emotions changed like the weather by the minute.

Rohan rubbed his forehead. "I am very troubled, big brother, and sad too."

"Want to go for ice cream?" Kabir suddenly said. Rohan snatched the tissue box from his hand and thoroughly cleaned his eyes and nose. Then he spread his arms wide, wanting Kabir to pick him up. Kabir started to put on his blazer.

"You're grown up now, Rohan," Kabir said, letting out a sigh, and sat down with his back to Rohan. Rohan quickly wrapped his arms around his neck and clung to his back, saying, "When I say I'm grown up, you say, 'No, you're still a child. You can't do this, you can't do that.'"

"You just know how to silence me with words," Kabir said, holding him tightly, and they left. As they stepped out of the room, Mark appeared. "I knew you'd come here."

"Don't stop those who are leaving, Mark, I'm telling you upfront. We're going for ice cream. We'll be back soon because big brother has another meeting," Rohan said, peeking his head out from behind Kabir with a big smile.

Mark shook his head with regret and moved aside, letting them pass. Rohan knew everything about Kabir. And their friendship had been going on for almost five years now.

In the evening, watching the setting sun, Rohan ate ice cream in both hands. They were sitting on a bench on the beach.

Kabir was next to him. Suddenly, Rohan said, "You do so much at such a young age, don't you? I feel proud looking at you. You must also feel proud that I, Rohan Dixit, am your friend, right?"

Kabir silently nodded. He was quite an narcissistic boy.

"Mark said a new king will be announced soon. So, will you be the next king?" Rohan continued.

"Hmm, Dad needs rest. He wants to spend time with his wife," Kabir nodded.

"How romantic!" As soon as Rohan said it, Kabir lightly hit him on the head.

Rohan glared at him, but Kabir didn't seem to care. Sprawled on the bench, he said, "Honestly, you can do everything except study."

This reminded Rohan of something. "Big brother, listen, there's a girl in my class...!"

Rohan had barely said this when he was hit on the head again.

Kabir said angrily, "You never get tired of talking about these things. How many times have I told you not to talk about girls?"

"But I was just saying that she carries your picture around," Rohan said, pouting in annoyance.

Kabir was slightly taken aback. "M-my picture?"

"Yes, the one I took and tore up. How dare she keep my friend's picture? Thief! I warned her, if she even looked at your picture again, I'd take her eyes out." Rohan spoke through gritted teeth.

Kabir burst out laughing. He grabbed Rohan by the arm and said, "Well done, my lion. This is exactly what you should have done. This is what I expected from you."

"If you wanted to praise me, why did you hit me first?" Rohan glared at him again and said in a cold voice.

"That's because you're slowly becoming a tattletale," Kabir said, snatched his ice cream, and ran away.

Rohan shouted, "My ice cream! If you want to eat it, get another one, big brother. Give mine back!"

"Come and get it," Kabir said, turning back and walking backward into the water.

Rohan also shoved the remaining ice cream into his mouth and ran after him.

They played in the water for a long time until Jai called out to Kabir, summoning him back. When Kabir returned, Jai's face was troubled. "We have to go back. The King has called you home."

Jai scratched his neck. Seeing this, Kabir's eyes turned cold. He quickly took off his blazer, put it on Rohan's head, and covered his face.

"Big brother!" Rohan tried to get out, but Kabir picked him up. Hiding Rohan completely in his arms, he quickly walked through the guards to the car. As soon as they got into the car, another car sped from somewhere and collided with Kabir's car.

    CITY HOSPITAL,

Pushing everyone aside, some guards quickly entered. Just then, a doctor came forward, pulled a nearby stretcher, and said in a loud voice, "Lay the child on this, Kabir."

The guards immediately moved aside and Kabir appeared. He had minor injuries on his face, but his clothes were covered in a lot of blood, which was undoubtedly Rohan's, who was in his arms.

Kabeer's face had lost all its color. He who could endure the biggest wounds was now afraid. Not for himself, but that the child in his care might get hurt.

"Kabeer, put him on the stretcher. He has already lost a lot of blood. We need to treat him as soon as possible, otherwise his life is in danger," the doctor said. He wasn't wearing a coat, but a stethoscope was indeed hanging around his neck. He also looked as if he had hastily put on his surgical clothes.

"He is afraid of hospitals. He asked me to be with him everywhere. I won't leave him alone. I'll go in with him," Kabeer said, looking at the doctor. The doctor sighed. This boy wasn't going to agree easily. So, the doctor thought it best to say yes.

Kabeer laid Rohan on the stretcher, after which the hospital staff immediately took the lead and shifted Rohan, who had completely lost consciousness.

A difficult night had passed. No one inside the car that hit them survived. After such a severe collision, it was difficult for anyone to survive anyway. Fortunately, the rear of Kabeer's car was more damaged than the seats, but Rohan had suffered serious injuries due to falling from the impact of the collision.

After finishing everything at the scene, Jay reached the hospital. Outside a ward, Rohan's family was sitting along with Kabeer. The surgery was completed successfully, and full credit went to Dr. Arjun, who sometimes visited the hospital. Yes, he had chosen the medical field. He bought the entire hospital during his internship and was now his own master. When he chose the medical field, it was like a shock to everyone. But then Vyas thought it was better for one of them to become a doctor so that it could help in resolving future problems.

Meanwhile, someone came and said that Rohan had regained consciousness. Kabeer wanted to go first, but then Rishabh's anger erupted, "It would be better if you stay away from my son from now on. Your friendship with him seems like a danger only for him. What happened today could happen anytime in the future. You should understand this yourself without anyone explaining it. Forgive me, but I won't take any risks with my son."

Kabeer bowed his head in shame and said, "I understand, sir. Just let me meet him one last time. After that, I will never come near Rohan."

"Rishu, calm down. They didn't expect what happened, and our stubborn son doesn't listen to anyone. Let's meet Rohan first, and then you can give your decision," Mark said, calming him down. Rishabh took a deep breath and quickly went inside the ward.

"Stay here! He will go mad if he doesn't see you," Mark said, placing his hand on Kabeer's shoulder, and followed by Rishi, went inside after Rishabh.

As they left, Kabeer stepped back and breathed a sigh of relief. He just wanted to convince his eyes one last time that Rohan was fine.

"Kabeer sir!" Jay said, going closer to him.

"Tell me that they have died a terrible death," Kabeer didn't want to hear anything else.

"They died on the spot," Jay replied, shaking his head.

"Who did all this? When will you tell me?" Kabeer said in a cold voice.

"Our suspicion is equal on everyone. After King's announcement, anyone could try to kill you, wanting to pass on his responsibility to you. Many people are against his decision," Jay said.

"Ah, do one thing: whoever you suspect, they should suffer heavy losses, so that next time they think a hundred times before confronting me," Kabeer said, clenching his fists.

Jay cleared his throat abruptly, "After staying with a child, you couldn't think of anything more, sir?"

Kabeer glared at him, "Do as I said."

"Yes... yes sir!" Jay stammered in agreement.

After Rishabh, Mark, and Rishi came out a little later, Kabeer entered. As soon as the door opened, a smile bloomed on Rohan's face lying on the bed. Kabeer arrived holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Rohan had a bandage on his head. Placing his hands behind his head, he said very comfortably, "Now I have a good two weeks of holiday from school. You keep me company. We will have fun here."

Kabeer shook his head with regret. This was the only hope he had from Rohan. Placing the flowers on the corner of the bed, he placed his hand behind Rohan's head and suddenly lifted him slightly and hugged him.

"Were you scared, big brother?" Rohan also closed his eyes and said, placing his small hands on his back.

"Yes, very much," Kabeer replied in a low voice.

"And did you cry too?" Rohan said.

"Yes, I cried for you too," Kabeer agreed with him.

"The future mafia king of Goa cried for me. Is this something to flex about? I'm going to tell that girl this, she'll be very jealous of me," Rohan said, and Kabeer couldn't stop his laughter.

He said, "Stay away from girls, you flirtatious person."

Rohan also laughed with him. When Kabeer moved back, Rohan looked at the minor injuries on his face and said, "You haven't even applied medicine to this, big brother?"

"You apply it, as always," Kabeer said, blinking.

"I have to do everything. Ugh, this boy... what will happen to him without me?" Rohan said, shrugging his shoulders. Kabeer just agreed with him.

    CITY HOSPITAL,

It was morning when Rishi went to the hospital canteen to get coffee. In the meantime, his gaze fell on Arjun, who was sitting in a corner. Rishi thought for a moment, bought an extra coffee, and walked in that direction.

“Good morning, Doctor!” Rishi said in a low voice, hesitating slightly.

“Good mor… morning!” Arjun said, looking up, his voice faltering slightly. But he quickly regained his composure. His expression didn’t change at all, and he waited for Rishi to say something.

“Actually, I am also going to join medical college this year. Would you like to give me some tips? I am a bit confused right now,” Rishi said, placing a coffee in front of him.

“Uh… tips? Study well, what else? Only by studying can you become a successful doctor like me. These days it’s a competitive era. If you want to survive in this, there is no option other than studying,” Arjun said, shaking one finger in negation. Rishi was listening to him very seriously.

“My notes are there. If you want them, share your email ID,” Arjun said, and Rishi’s eyes lit up. He quickly started looking around for a pen.

Arjun took out the pen clipped to his pocket and placed it in front of him. Rishi, along with his email ID, wrote his number on a tissue paper and gave it to him.

“My name is Rishi Dixit,” he said, returning the pen.

“My name is Arjun Purohit,” Arjun said, nodding slightly, and picked up the tissue paper to look at it.

“I know you must have taken time out from your busy schedule to sit here. So, I won’t disturb you much, and one more thing, I wanted to thank you. You saved my younger brother’s life.” Hearing Rishi’s words, Arjun felt like he was flying in the sky. But he still didn’t let any expression show on his face.

As Rishi said goodbye and left, Arjun, flustered, first saved the number in his phone.

“He called me a vagabond one day,” Arjun said with a sly smile on his lips.

“He wasn’t wrong. You are still the same today, and they don’t know it. He thinks you are an accomplished doctor. You are accomplished, but not as a doctor,” said a boy standing behind him, and Arjun turned his head.

“Are you with me or against me, Kevin? Do you even know how much effort you put in to get a medical degree?” he said boastfully.

“Yes, you worked very hard. You stalked a child, memorized his hobbies and dreams. Then you chose your field. Just to not prove yourself a vagabond. But now, where are you using your degree?” Kevin recounted Arjun’s misdeeds with regret.

“Haven’t you started talking too much nonsense these days?” Arjun said.

“Why are your hands and feet shaking?” Kevin said, ignoring his words.

Arjun noticed this. Yes, it was happening, and perhaps since he realized Rishi was approaching him. “Maybe due to excitement.”

Kevin shook his head with regret. Arjun averted his gaze, and a smile formed on his lips. “Let’s see how he chases me now.”

“Don’t be under any illusion. He just appreciated you because you are a doctor. If he has to follow anyone, he will follow Doctor Arjun, not go crazy for Arjun Purohit,” Kevin told him the truth, and Arjun, in anger, picked up the file in front of him and tried to hit him with it.

“You are truly my enemy. With you around, I don’t need anyone else,” Arjun said, grinding his teeth, and Kevin quickly moved away from him.

Rishi, carrying the coffee, went back inside the hospital and was waiting for the lift. Then his gaze fell on a poster, and he moved in that direction. There was a large picture of Arjun on that poster. There was something written below it.

Since Rishi was very fond of reading, he didn’t miss any news. A few months ago, he had read this news. Arjun Purohit had bought this hospital, and now this hospital, despite incurring losses, treated needy people for free. Other hospitals were continuously trying to get this hospital shut down by raising objections. But no one had been able to do so until today.

“I will come here for my internship. I want to work with you, Doctor Arjun,” Rishi said with a deep smile and left.

Kabir stayed with Rohan at the hospital for a long time, until he fell asleep. After that, Kabir left.

When Rohan’s eyes opened at night, only his family was present with him.

“You’re awake?” Mark said, gently stroking his head.

“You all are stuck here because of me, aren’t you? I can rest anywhere, don’t worry. You can shift me home if you want, or to the club,” Rohan said.

“The doctors won’t discharge you for another week. Because the injury was so serious,” Rishabh said with a mixture of anger and concern.

“Okay, fine. Then let one of you stay with me. Someone has to handle the admission process for brother, right?” Rohan said.

“Have you become too big to worry about me?” Rishi said, looking at him with narrowed eyes.

“Man, why do these two do this to me… Mark?” Rohan said complainingly.

“Ignore them,” Mark said, turning his face towards him. Because he knew Rishabh was very angry since last night, which Rohan hadn’t yet appeased.

“I’ll stay with you,” Mark said so that Rishabh and Rishi could go home.

Rishabh let out a cold sigh. “You’ve spoiled him. You’re the only one who deserves his anger.”

Rishabh showed him his finger and stomped out. Rishi also followed him.

Rohan was looking in that direction. “Won’t Dad be angry with me because of me?”

“He can’t stay angry with me for long. I’ll convince him so you don’t get scolded,” Mark said, distracting him. “Now father and son will have fun here for a week.”

“And where is Mother?” Rohan asked suddenly.

“She had some work, so she left,” Mark said, avoiding his gaze.

“Until when will she come?” Rohan asked the next question.

    “She didn’t say,” Mark said.

“Give me your phone, I’ll ask her myself,” Rohan said, and Mark had to quietly give him his phone. Because Rohan’s phone screen was completely broken in the accident.

    CITY HOSPITAL,

It was nighttime when Rohan, after speaking with Kabir, started waiting for him to arrive. Although he hadn't received a definitive "yes" from Kabir, Rohan had hung up the phone after giving his order before Kabir could even speak. Otherwise, Kabir would have used the excuse of being busy with a meeting.

"What do you think, will he come?" Mark placed a plate of food in front of him, but Rohan turned away.

"I'll eat after he arrives, and I'm confident he will definitely come," Rohan replied flatly. He had a nagging suspicion that something had happened causing Kabir to start ignoring him. Otherwise, he wouldn't have had the courage to leave him alone in this condition.

"Let's make a bet," Mark said in a deep voice, and Rohan closed his eyes. He knew very well that Mark's predictions were rarely wrong.

"Did Dad say something to him?" Changing the subject, he said softly.

"Dad is concerned about your safety," Mark didn't give him a direct answer.

"It wasn't a big mistake in what happened. You know, right? He's the future King. Attacks like this are common. He didn't intentionally hurt me," Rohan said, and after a moment, he flustered himself. Because Mark was looking at him silently, raising his eyebrows.

Then, shaking his head in negation with a slight smile, he said, "It would be best if you don't insist on going out or meeting him somewhere. Otherwise, you'll have to abandon your friendship midway. Not only Rishu is worried about you, but I am too. And I will also tell you to stay away from Kabir."

Rohan was shocked by his words, "Please Mark, don't do anything like that. I promise, after today, I won't insist on taking him out anywhere. I'll just meet him inside the club."

Mark nodded, "Then finish your food. I'm not an unkind father. Your happiness is as important to me as your safety."

"I'll eat after he arrives. Pack it up until then, it will get cold," Rohan pleaded, and Mark sighed and agreed. The boy didn't hold back in bothering the people around him.

In about half an hour, Jai parked the car in the hospital parking lot. Kabir had come from home and had been sighing with his mouth open the entire way. He had turned twenty-three, but even today, Vyas didn't spare him any scolding. He had come with great difficulty. Otherwise, Vyas had strict orders that Kabir would avoid roaming freely until the King was announced.

Jai got out and opened the door for him, "King, will you come soon, or should I leave? I have the responsibility to find Samir sir and drop him home, which isn't an easy task at all."

Kabir took another deep breath and picked up a bag lying nearby, getting out of the car, "Maybe he'll be at the racing club."

"Thank you for telling me," Jai nodded slightly and followed him to escort him inside. As soon as they entered the elevator, they saw Arjun and Kevin already inside.

"Because of you, I'm stuck here the whole day today. Consider this my favor," Arjun said, lightly patting Kabir's arm.

"Yeah, okay...!" Before he could finish, Kevin interjected, "Don't believe his lie. He was quite interested in being here at the hospital all day today. He's just not anymore, because the patient's family has gone home."

Kevin's words made Arjun angry, and he hit him on the head, while Kabir laughed. The three of them knew the story of how the rogue Arjun became Dr. Arjun very well.

"Arjun sir, I'm very sleepy. If you don't want this coffee, give it to me?" Jai gestured towards Arjun's hands, which Arjun quickly hid in his coat and shook his head in negation.

"You can ask for his life today, but not this coffee. He's been carrying it in his hand since morning like a won trophy, Doctor," Kevin said, rubbing his head, to Jai's surprise.

"What's so special about this coffee?" Jai asked.

"Maybe Rishi Dixit bought it, right?" Kabir guessed, and Arjun nodded yes with a shy smile.

As soon as Kabir saw the elevator door about to open, he snatched the coffee from Arjun's hand and ran out. The other two, along with Arjun, stared at his actions with their mouths open. Arjun came to his senses with the sound of the elevator and said in a slightly loud voice, "Son of a Kabir, if even a drop of coffee is wasted, you'll have to pay for it with your blood."

"Blood for a coffee? I made a mistake by asking," Jai shivered, after which the other two also came out.

Kabir didn't create much trouble in returning the coffee. He understood Arjun's feelings well. After that, Arjun, sulking, beat him up thoroughly and went to his duty.

Jai escorted Kabir to the ward and also said that he would drop Sameer home and return. Until then, Kabir should not leave from there.

As soon as Kabir opened the ward door, he saw Rohan sitting there with his hands tied, looking angry in the same direction. Closing and locking the door, Kabir went inside and stood beside him, "How are you feeling now?"

"You refused to come. You're getting very busy these days?" Rohan continued to express his displeasure.

"Fine! I lied. I wasn't in a meeting. I was at home. Dad gave me a good lecture today. At least, let it go," Kabir said, taking out a bottle of wine and tossing it towards Mark.

"I knew you would definitely come. He didn't bet with me," Mark said with a small smile, and Rohan's mouth dropped open.

Meanwhile, Kabir extended a box towards him, "This is for you. Your phone broke because of me."

"New phone?" Rohan's displeasure vanished in an instant, and his face lit up as he took the box from Kabir's hand.

"What? So we could have replaced its screen. There was no need to get a completely new one. You're spoiling him, Kabir Acharya," Mark said strictly in the meantime.

"Who is speaking?" Kabir and Rohan said in unison, looking at him, and Mark flustered.

Rohan shifted his attention back to Kabir, "Thank you, buddy. I've been wanting a new phone for so long."

Kabir smiled. He knew this very well. He said, "Have you had dinner? I brought food packed from home. Mom made dinner today. And trust me, she's a very good cook."

"Really? I was so hungry," Rohan said excitedly, and Mark, opening the wine bottle, stared at Rohan. Rohan knew this, yet he deliberately didn't look at Mark.

No, he was crazy to tell Rohan to eat. Taking a sip of wine, Mark said to himself, "I was only this age when I couldn't see anything past your father. But a lot of time has passed to understand my feelings. By then, it was too late. I hope you don't make this mistake."

He got up and moved towards the balcony, "I'll eat later, you guys start."

    Rohan replied in affirmation.

It was nighttime, and the noise in the racing club was astonishing. Numerous bikes were racing one after another on the track, with three bikes in the lead.

Black was in the middle, Blue on one side, and Red on the other. The riders were wearing outfits that matched their bikes.

Suddenly, the noise intensified as the race neared its end. The bike in the middle accelerated sharply, creating a slight distance between it and the other two. The rider on the Red bike wasn't one to fall behind. He tried his best to prevent the rider on the Black bike from winning. Meanwhile, the rider on the Blue bike was solely focused on winning his race.

Emerging from the crowd, Jai moved forward and saw that the Black bike had touched the ending point first. Jai smiled slightly and waited.

All the bikes stopped a short distance away. The rider on the Red bike took off his helmet and hit the fuel tank with his hand. Then, in the next moment, he cast a cold gaze at the two riders standing beside him.

When the rider on the Blue bike removed his helmet, his hair was a bit longer than average. He had tied it in a ponytail, yet some strands fell across his forehead. He wore a gold earring in one ear and had a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Shaking his neck, he looked at the first guy, whose deep, dark eyes were staring at him.

“Oh, Mr. Mehra, came in third again?” the rider on the Blue bike said. He wasn't sad about coming in second.

The first guy was none other than Vihaan Mehra. The second was Krishna Thakur, and then the third guy removed his helmet. The girls present went wild after seeing Sameer Acharya, as the guy was rarely seen without a mask.

Jai’s face turned cold hearing all the commotion for Sameer. But there was nothing he could do.

Getting off his bike, Sameer looked at the other two guys. There was no ordinary affection in anyone's eyes for the other.

A crooked smile appeared on Sameer’s lips. “Please don’t look at me with such ravenous eyes. Looking at me, or glaring at me, won’t make Sameer Acharya lose any race… Losers!”

Krishna’s fists tightened. “I think you’re taking me too lightly, Sameer Acharya. We’ll meet again in the next race, and then I’ll show you who the loser is?”

“Good luck,” Sameer said, winked at him, and started to leave.

Krishna gritted his teeth and muttered under his breath, “Bastard!”

Vihaan was also looking at him with similar eyes. After that, Krishna and Vihaan also parted ways and left. All three boys studied in the same university, in the same class. But they never got along. It would be more accurate to say they were sworn enemies, who would surely instigate wars between gangs in the future. Anyone could tell that by looking at them.

When Sameer changed and came out of the washroom into the room, he was only wearing black trousers. Suddenly, his eyes turned cold when he saw Jai standing in the room with his hands behind his back.

Bowing his head slightly, Jai said, “King has summoned you home at this time, sir.”

“So? You’ve brought an invitation? Am I a five-year-old child who can’t find his way home on his own?” Sameer said without any expression and picked up a t-shirt from the bed in the room and put it on. He lightly ran his hand through his earring, put on a jacket, picked up his bike keys, and left the room without saying anything further.

Just as he stepped out of the room, Krishna appeared in front of him. The two boys looked at each other and clenched their jaws.

“Move out of my way,” Sameer said.

“You’ve come and stood in the middle. You move.” Krishna was also unwilling to back down. The two took a step towards each other.

Krishna was slightly taller than Sameer. This absolutely did not mean that Sameer was lacking in anything compared to Krishna.

“Sameer sir, we have to go,” Jai said, interrupting them.

Krishna glanced at Jai, then said with a wicked smile, “Is the kid afraid to go home alone? His protector is trailing behind him again. Go on, hurry, don’t keep him waiting. It’s gotten dark outside.”

Sameer’s face turned red with anger. After teasing him like that, Krishna deliberately moved out of the way. This made Sameer even angrier.

Bumping his shoulder against Sameer’s, Sameer moved ahead quickly. Jai took a deep breath. Now this anger would surely be directed at Jai.

As Sameer was about to sit on the bike, Jai stopped him and said, “Get in the car. Someone else will bring the bike.”

When Sameer wasn’t agreeing, Jai took out the bike’s keys. “If you don’t listen, I’ll have to inform King, albeit forcefully.”

Sameer immediately grabbed him by the collar. “How dare you? How could you touch my bike? I don’t allow anyone to touch my things, least of all a mere guard.”

What he said struck Jai’s heart, but he didn’t react. Sameer pushed him back. “Return the keys.”

“Get in the car.” When Sameer insisted, Jai also didn’t back down.

“You are neither my father nor my brother! Your words and your presence matter nothing to me. Next time, if Dad orders anything, send someone else. Don’t you dare show your face to me again,” Sameer pushed him again and quietly went and sat in the car. Turning his face away, Jai let out a long sigh. Then, tossing the keys to another guard, he sat down to drive the car. Sameer wouldn’t have objected so much if another guard was taking the bike that he couldn't even touch. He just had a problem with Jai.

“If I see even a slight dent on the bike, I’ll make your face look worse than that,” Sameer warned.

Jai opened the car window and repeated the same thing to the other guard. Sameer gave Jai a sideways glance but closed his eyes and sat back the next moment.

Thakur Mansion, he didn’t want to wake the sleeping household by opening the main door. So, like a thief, he quietly entered through the kitchen window. Slowly, without making a sound, he reached the stairs when he suddenly stopped and looked ahead. The house lights turned on, and Krishna forced a smile and looked at Aniket standing in front.

“What time is it?” Aniket stood with his hands clasped. Srijan also came and stood next to Aniket after turning on the light.

“The clock will know. I haven’t worn one, so I don’t know how much time has passed?” Krishna continued to smile forcefully. He had very neatly hidden his watch in his jacket sleeve.

“It’s eleven o’clock, and my entry time into this house is seven in the evening. When I returned from the office, you said you had gone to your room to sleep. But then you disappeared from your room?” Aniket said in a cold voice.

Krishna blinked his eyes. Clearing his throat, he said, “Well, you see, Mama, a friend had an emergency. I just went to help him.”

“Number?” Aniket immediately took out his phone. “Tell me your friend’s number.”

“Ani, baby, leave it for today. You’ve caught him for the first time, haven’t you?” Srijan said and blinked the next moment. Why did he say the next part?

“So, the prince always runs away, and Maharaj is fully aware of this?” Aniket’s gaze now shifted towards Srijan. Srijan had shot himself in the foot. He stepped back one step.

“Answer,” Aniket said in a sharp voice, and even the mafia leader of a gang with Krishna trembled.

“Uh… well, yes. My… I didn’t mean it. Our son doesn’t run away anywhere. He was always in his room when I went to check on him,” Srijan’s tongue was failing him.

Aniket pointed his finger at both of them in turn. “Open your ears, eyes, and nose and listen carefully. The time to step into this house is seven o’clock. If, by mistake, I don’t find him in his room after this time, you both will be in trouble.”

“But wife, this is the age to roam around and…!” Srijan said, but Aniket stopped him by raising his hand.

“He’s young blood. I don’t want him to get corrupted by staying with vagrant friends. If our daughter were in his place, would you say the same thing?” Aniket said, and Srijan fell silent.

“Trust me, Mama, there is no deficiency in your upbringing. I don’t even look at girls,” Krishna swore. Yes, why would he look now? When he’s been looking at the same boy since childhood?

Aniket ran his hands through his hair. Then, stepping aside, he said, “Go to your room. I’m letting you go today, but not next time. Whether it’s a boy or a girl, the rules should be the same for everyone.”

Krishna smiled and went up the stairs, got close to him, and kissed his cheek. “I’ll remember, Mama. Good night.”

Saying this, he high-fived Srijan and ran quickly towards his room.

    Acharya Mansion,

It was nighttime when Sameer got out of the car, waiting for Jay to get down as well, so he could complain to his mom and dad after going inside. Jay, rolling down the car window without any expression, said, "Good night, sir. I need to return to Kabir sir."

Hearing his reply, Sameer blinked a couple of times, "Wait, you can't just leave like that? Come inside right now. I need to make it clear in front of Dad that from today onwards, you won't even come near me."

Jay let out a cold sigh, "Don't be childish, Sameer sir. I don't have that much free time to tolerate your childish antics."

Jay said and closed the window, turned the car, before Sameer could say anything. Sameer's face was stern, but his eyes softened so much that they could well up with tears at any moment. But he tried his best to control himself.

Jay could see him entering quickly in the mirror. Shaking his head, he focused on driving. He had only returned after completing his training, and since then, he had gotten used to Sameer's behavior. One thing Sameer had said had completely destroyed his friendship, filling his heart with hatred and anger.

"Whether it's hatred or not, I don't know, but there's a lot of anger. The boy who couldn't live a moment without me now doesn't even want to see my face," Jay said, exhaling a cold breath, "Very good, Jay. You deserve this. You didn't have the sense to think before you spoke back then."

He would get angry at himself. Gently hitting the steering wheel of the car with his hand, he quickly drove towards the hospital.

    City Hospital,

After feeding Rohan food and medicine, Kabir forcefully took the phone from his hand, made him lie down, and said, "Whatever you want to do, do it tomorrow morning. For now, just rest."

"I was sleeping all day. I'm not sleepy at this time. Can you let me play for a while?" Rohan pleaded with his eyes.

"You have an injury on your head. Looking at the phone screen for too long will cause discomfort. And if you're not sleepy, we can talk," Kabir said, not returning his phone.

Rohan, lying down, looked at him and folded his hands, "Talk about what?"

"Like how you got angry some time ago and forced me to come," Kabir reminded him.

"Oh, excuse me! I didn't force you. You came here of your own free will. You could have ignored it if you wanted," Rohan shrugged carelessly.

Kabir chuckled sarcastically at himself, "So that's how it is? I'll be careful next time before making a fool of myself. Because you don't care."

Rohan's mouth fell open. Then he said dramatically, "Okay, fine. I wanted you to come. No, I mean, how dare you leave me alone? I'm so injured, and you still left?"

"Stop the drama and listen to me carefully now. From today onwards, whenever you call, I won't be able to come to you. You have to stop being stubborn. We won't be able to hang out in public places either. Understand?" Kabir emphasized each word, pointing his finger.

Rohan's face paled, "So you won't meet me every day like before?" Kabir shook his head. He was helpless.

"Then do something so we can meet every day?" Rohan asked.

Kabir fell into thought. After a minute, he nodded, "Get good marks in Tenth grade. I'll get you admitted to our college."

Rohan's face fell, "What's the benefit for me in this? I mean, how will we be able to meet?"

"I'll go and sit on the principal's chair beforehand. Then we can meet daily. And no one will suspect that I'm there for you," Kabir said, and Rohan's eyes lit up. Giving a thumbs up with both hands, he said, "Just two more years, and then we'll meet every day like before. Right?"

"So, am I allowed to leave now? I can't stay with you for too long?" Kabir nodded affirmatively.

Rohan suddenly spread his arms, "Good luck, future king! If we can't meet, message me and tell me you've become king. Will you get a crown like a king too?"

Kabir slowly melted into his arms and said, "Yes, a heavy crown of responsibilities. For now, I'm not being elected by everyone's vote. I'm just getting my father's place and responsibility for a few years. Who knows, maybe someone else will become king in the future?"

"There's no one better than you. I have your luck with me. You will always be king because you have the qualities," Rohan patted his back.

"Um, I've got your good luck, now nothing can defeat me. My lucky charm! Take care of yourself. My eyes are always on you, so stay away from girls," Kabir warned him, separating.

Rohan laughed heartily and nodded, "I don't like girls. How many times do I have to tell you?"

Kabir blinked and stared at him intently for a few moments, as if filling his eyes with him.

After a short while, he tapped on the balcony door and said, "I'm leaving, come inside now. Don't drink too much, so you can wake up on time if Rohan needs you tonight."

Mark bid him goodbye from outside in a slurred voice, and Kabir nodded and left.

    Four years later,

It was morning when the car stopped directly outside an orphanage. As the car door opened, a twenty-seven-year-old boy stepped out, adjusting his black blazer. He took off his glasses and cast his deep gaze upon the place. This was the last place he had been before leaving the city.

Just then, a boy of the same age emerged from the other side of the car. Without bothering to remove his glasses, he placed his hand on the car and said, "Seriously, AK, the first thing you had to do upon landing in the city was this? I thought your first task would be to take down that Nepo King."

"I made a promise," AK said in a cold voice.

"Man, I shiver hearing your voice this cold after hours of silence. If you made a promise, you should have sent someone to do your work." The other boy was none other than Vinit.

"I made the promise," AK said and walked ahead.

Vinit hadn't moved from his spot. Calculating to himself, he said, "He was the age of a baby. That means he'll be nineteen now. You have to leave the orphanage after eighteen. Damn, I'm a year late."

Saying this, he too ran after AK.

"You only know his name. Now, how many children with that name have come and gone from here? How can we tell you exactly who you're talking about? At least tell me his age." Seeing the gun on the table, the man left his chair and stood pressed against the wall.

"Bring the register. AK will find him himself," Vinit said carelessly, standing with his arms crossed.

"Revealing children's personal information...!" Before the man could say anything further, AK picked up the gun and began to tap it lightly on the table.

The man's throat went dry. AK, in his cold voice, said, "The entire orphanage is run on our mother's donations. And you're stopping us?"

The man said nothing and opened a locker, bringing several registers and placing them before AK. Vinit also came forward and started helping AK. In the meantime, they found three children with the same name, but the face of none of them matched the child AK had promised.

Suddenly, AK's hand stopped while flipping through the pages. He saw the name "Aariv" again, and this time the child's face was the one AK was looking for.

    "Here it is!" AK exclaimed.

"He left the orphanage last year," the man informed them.

"Do you have a picture of him before he left the orphanage?" AK looked up at the man. The man silently nodded and showed him a picture. AK looked at the picture intently for a few moments. Vinit's gaze landed on another child standing next to him. His face still looked like a child's... meaning that innocence. Nothing had changed. Vinit casually guessed, "This is Shlok, right?"

After looking at the picture, the man nodded. After all, he was the smartest child in the orphanage. How could anyone forget him?

"Where might they be now?" Vinit asked.

"How would I know? Their lives were in our hands only until they were here. We made them capable of living life on their own terms. But their college!" Before the man could finish, Vinit interrupted him.

With confidence, he could talk about Shlok, "Of course, where Baby studies. KVA University!"

But AK had no idea where Aariv might be. The man shook his head, "Both of them received scholarships from there together."

AK suddenly stood up and left. Vinit ran after him, "Bro, what now?"

"I need to find him. How might he be surviving without any support?" AK said.

"You are not the type to care about anyone. And have you forgotten? We are here for the King? A little more time, if he has won the trust of the other gangs, he will become the permanent King. Should we go after him?" Vinit said, and AK's steps faltered.

AK rubbed his forehead. "Yes, you're right! Let's find out about the King first."

Vinit looked at him with his mouth open, "Brother, let's go home first? If it's time to come here, we can go home too, right?"

"Let's find out about the King first. We can go home later," AK said calmly and started walking again.

"Sometimes I feel like beating him up. That scoundrel," Vinit muttered through clenched teeth.

    Night time, Athena.

A nineteen-year-old boy, wearing a black jacket over a white t-shirt, crossed his legs and raised a glass of alcohol, asking, "Can I go anywhere I want to?"

"Of course, you can, Baby. But you, couldn't you have taken me along?" said the twenty-two-year-old boy standing in front.

"Mr. Krishna Thakur, getting engaged doesn't mean you've become my master. No one has been able to control my life so far, do you think you can?" Ved didn't look at Krishna even once.

"Why are you saying this? When did I ever try to control you?" Krishna tried to move forward, and only then did Ved look up.

Krishna was still the same as before, completely carefree! But excessively possessive and emotional about his Baby. Something his Baby didn't value at all.

"You know what, I don't even feel like looking at you or talking to you. Why am I bound in this forceful engagement? Why don't we break off the engagement with a mutual decision? You're free, I'm free! Why stress each other out?" Ved said angrily, slamming his glass down.

Krishna went and sat near his feet. "Don't say that, Baby. I love you very much. For me, this relationship... is very special."

He tried to take Ved's hand. But Ved snatched his hand away. "You love me, you wanted the relationship, it was your wish, what about me? Everything was forced upon me."

Krishna looked at his hands. Where his engagement ring was on his finger, Ved had started keeping it off the very next day of the engagement. Yes, he only wore it to show his mother. Otherwise, even his friends didn't know that he had gotten engaged last year.

It was night in Athena, when Krishna was sitting below Ved in a VIP area of the club, looking at him with helplessness. Ved had just said that he was breaking off the engagement.

"Baby, if we try, we can make this relationship work together. I'll do exactly as you say. Just tell me what you want?" Krishna said.

"I don't want anything from you, except that I can't live in this captivity anymore. There's a limit to everything, Krish. How can someone be so clingy? How can someone control the other person so much all the time? Your constant following behind me, uff! I can't lie to my friends about who you are to me. And these constant falls at my feet? I feel awkward around you now." Ved tried to push him away by patting his shoulder.

Krishna stumbled and sat down. With a faint smile, he said, "I've only wanted you since childhood."

"So, is that my fault? I don't want you. How many times do I have to tell you? I don't like your nature. If something small doesn't go your way, you go mad. When you proposed for the first time on my eighteenth birthday, I rejected you very politely. Then what did you do? You convinced your dad, and my uncle immediately convinced my mom. You knew very well that my mom never refused my uncle. Even my dad didn't listen to me for the first time," Ved shouted at him angrily.

Tears welled up in Krishna's eyes. "What am I lacking? Can you find anyone better than me?"

"I don't want anyone! Not you, not anyone better than you. I want to enjoy my life right now. Initially, I liked boys. But now, seeing you, I've started hating boys and the very concept of love. You have no self-respect at all, Krish. If I told you to lick my shoes, you'd be ready to do that too," Ved said, expressing his disappointment.

Krish sighed coldly, "No, baby! You're wrong. My self-respect hasn't fallen so low that I would do that. Maybe I really did too much for you to think about me this way. That's why you never saw my love."

Saying this, he stood up. "I, Krishna Thakur, am breaking off our engagement today, at this very moment. From today onwards, our paths will be separate. I have just one request. Let this matter stay between us. There's no need to involve the family. I don't want their relationship to be strained even a bit because of us."

Ved said nothing. He folded his arms and turned his face away. Krish watched him for a few moments and then walked out quickly.

As soon as he left, someone stepped inside and said in a cold voice, "What did I just hear, baby?"

Ved's eyes widened as he looked ahead. "Rohan?"

Rohan came up to him. "You said that guy is crazy and constantly follows you. But now, he turned out to be your fiancé? Since when did my baby start lying, huh?"

Ved pursed his lips. He was on the verge of tears. "How could I tell my friends that my engagement was arranged with a guy against my will?"

Rohan placed his hands on his waist and tilted his head up. "How could you even think we would judge you for anything? Especially when you were forced? Did Vrinda Maa force you? She's not like that, I can say with certainty."

"They think I won't find any better guy than Krish," Ved said with a choked voice.

Rohan fell into thought. If Vrinda had made a decision, she would have done so after much deliberation. But an engagement to a guy?

"Baby? Are you interested in guys?" Rohan asked seriously, pointing his finger.

The color drained from Ved's face. He lowered his head and stammered, "I... I never looked at you or Ari or Shlok that way. I swear!"

Rohan sat beside him and put his arm around his shoulder. "That's why I was wondering how Vrinda Maa got you engaged to a guy. Look, baby, you're young. You're good-looking. You're also rich, someone can easily take advantage of you by pretending to be good. If Vrinda Maa considers someone best for you, it means that person is actually the best. You shouldn't question her decision like this."

Ved blinked a couple of times. He had never discussed this topic openly with anyone before, so he could never decide what was right or wrong.

"I don't like him," Ved said immediately.

"Why don't you like him? Does he touch you inappropriately? Does he force you for anything? Does he hit or scold you? Does he misbehave? If so, tell me," Rohan asked lovingly.

"He doesn't do anything like that," Ved replied truthfully, looking at him.

"Then what does he do to make you dislike him? He's handsome, he falls at your feet. If I found someone like that, I'd be ready to marry him on one foot," Rohan said, shaking him badly.

Ved said, "He keeps coming back behind me like a puppy. He keeps apologizing for every little thing, as if he has never learned any other word.

"You idiot. Nothing can be done with you, baby. You should go back to nursery and sit there. This club is not the right place for you right now," Rohan made a face.

"Don't joke with me," Ved shouted at him.

"You've made a joke of yourself. In a relationship, a person expects these things from the other person. I liked him even without meeting him. Saying sorry repeatedly means he's afraid of upsetting you. Hey, if you don't want him, give him to me," Rohan said, and Ved glared at him angrily.

"Don't forget, I'm engaged to him," Ved said.

"Oh? I don't see any engagement ring," Rohan said sarcastically, narrowing his eyes and searching his fingers.

The very next moment, Ved took out his wallet, put on the ring from it, and showed it. "Look, this is the engagement ring. Our engagement ring."

"Now take it off and put it back. I heard he broke off the engagement," Rohan said, shaking his head with regret.

Ved looked at him, shocked. He couldn't speak for some time. Then, he slowly said, "Who is he to break off the engagement? I broke it off."

"Playing the flute before a buffalo!" Rohan muttered. Ved narrowed his eyes at him, and Rohan gestured that he should enjoy himself and he had to go out.

"Hey, where are you going, leaving me alone? Call those two as well," Ved said in a loud voice.

Rohan replied as he left, "Until their duty is over, they won't budge from their places. Sorry, but I can't keep you company. I have to keep an eye on Shlok, to protect him from lowlifes."

Ved said nothing and picked up his glass, running after him. Why should he be alone?

Evening had descended, and darkness was beginning to fall. Acharya, standing in the parking lot of the automobile company, waved his hand dismissively at a passing car and directly looked at a camera, which his brother had perhaps just switched off.

"You will never forget our meeting after so many years, Kabeer Acharya." He was about to leave when suddenly someone collided with him.

Vinite's eyes narrowed, ready to scold, but then he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. With a slight groan, Vinite pushed the person back and clutched his stomach, where a small cut had appeared and was bleeding. The person's hand held a small dagger with an eagle emblem on it.

"Welcome, Mr. Vinite Kashyap. Do you think only you can make memorable meetings, not me? I hope you both brothers will remember this for a lifetime." The person wore a mask and had mischievous eyes. He winked at Vinite before turning to leave towards another car.

Vinite's jaw clenched. He could clearly tell by the broad back that it was Kabeer Acharya. His deep voice still echoed in Vinite's mind.

"Ahh, where are you, damn it!" Vinite's vision began to blur, and he stumbled, about to fall, when Akhil rushed to his side and supported him.

"For just a minute, I left you alone, and you couldn't even keep yourself safe?" Akhil said with a tinge of sarcasm.

"First, listen carefully in this condition. Blood and life are nothing; they come and go." Vinite grew irritated, his condition worsening due to the pain.

"The wound isn't too deep. Did you see who did it?" Akhil examined the injury after lifting Vinite's shirt.

"Take me to a doctor, or I'll end up dead. I'm not going to let you treat me; I don't trust you." Vinite's anger flared up, and he punched Akhil's shoulder. Despite his condition, Akhil still had questions.

    Athena,

The music in the club was too loud for anyone to hear each other properly. A boy told another, "Go find something else to do; I can handle it here."

"No, I have to stay. There's already less staff today, and if I leave, you'll be overwhelmed." The other boy, Shlok, replied. Both wore black shirts and pants, the club's dress code, which made their faces look even more radiant.

"I'm fine; I can manage." Ari's eyes moved forward to an middle-aged man who had just sat in front of Shlok. His gaze roamed over Shlok's body indecently.

"Come here; I'll handle him." Ari said.

Shlok shook his head. "I'm used to it here; I can manage. Don't worry, focus on your work."

When someone stood before Ari, they quickly moved apart and focused on their tasks.

Shlok made the man's preferred drink and placed it on the counter. The man suddenly grabbed Shlok's hand.

Shlok's face turned cold. He glared at the man, who laughed and said, "Do you offer any other services?"

"Nothing like what you want. So, let go of my hand and try somewhere else." Shlok firmly declined. The man released Shlok's hand and pulled out a card from his pocket, placing it on the counter.

"You'll make in a month at this club; I'll give you that in one night. Think about it; you won't need to work."

"I get bored with work. Tell me what you're offering," the man said, taking the card.

Upon seeing Rohan, the man panicked and quickly let go of Shlok's hand, knowing the owner's spoiled son could embarrass him and throw him out.

Rubbing his sore hand, Shlok looked at the man with disgust and stepped back. Rohan read the name on the card and said, "I think I know you. You're the one who got beaten up by a girl for teasing her outside the club, right? Uncle, have some self-respect. First, a girl, then a boy, and when caught, you beg people, saying you're the age of my daughter, so why would I tease her?"

The man gulped and looked away. He quickly grabbed his drink and disappeared.

Rohan crushed the card in his hand and threw it aside. Shlok put his arm around his neck. "Are you okay?"

"Make me a drink; then I'll be fine, and I won't demand any extra services." Vedit took the man's place, and both Shlok and Ari smiled.

Given Vinite's condition, he couldn't be taken home or to the hospital. He lay in pain in a small house while Akhil tried to stop the bleeding until Jimmy brought a doctor.

"Come on, doctor! Don't just stand there!" Vinite struggled to shout.

"Don't worry, sir; I won't let you leave so easily." The doctor smiled and removed his mask, revealing his face, which made both Akhil and Vinite's eyes widen.

"Jimmy's kid, couldn't you find another doctor in the whole city?" Vinite looked at Arjun with mixed emotions of anger and desperation.

"The first doctor I found, I brought him. What's wrong with him?" Jimmy looked at the doctor without a mask and stuttered. How could he have made such a huge mistake?

"The patient's blood loss is significant. May I start the treatment?" Arjun asked with a sly smile, tapping on his first aid box.

"I'll die, Akhil, but not with his treatment. He might poison me." Vinite gripped Akhil's hand tightly. Akhil looked at Arjun with cold eyes. If Arjun was there, his guards must have followed him.

"We have no other option," Akhil said and made space for Arjun.

With a devilish grin, Arjun moved forward, and Vinite shifted back. He didn't trust Arjun at all.

The heat in the house increased when Kevin, Arjun's guard, entered.

Arjun began treating Vinite, which stunned Kevin.

    "Boss, are you okay?"

"My enemies aren't okay; that's why I'm here being treated," Arjun said calmly.

"I asked if your mind is okay?" Kevin said, scrunching up his face.

Arjun took out his frustration on Vinite's wound.

Vinite shouted, "Move outside and talk; don't increase the pain!"

"Of course, of course," Arjun said, pressing cotton onto Vinite's wound.

The screams Vinite started making only stopped after Arjun finished treating him.

Arjun and Kevin left peacefully since the Fox gang's heir wasn't in a state to fight.

"The dog didn't use anesthesia while stitching me. If I ever get my hands on him, I'll sew his mouth shut properly." Vinite clutched his stomach, now wrapped in a large bandage.

"You're a kid; can't you bear a little pain? Rest now. Jimmy, go get the medicine; otherwise, he'll keep screaming all night." Akhil exhaled and had strange emotions on his face. Kabeer Acharya couldn't get out of his mind.
